Honestly, I'd be happy with some normal blouses. I have some t-shirts and a couple button-up shirts for business wear, but hard-pressed to find casual blouses that are not cut to the navel or are croptops.
Yeah, if one wanted to tell a story that is not about the birds and the bees, one finds it difficult to find different clothing for all the characters, whatever era the story is about.
<-- agrees with you both. Here's to hoping... Clink!!!
It's magic of course: the less armor you wear, the better you're protected
Strangely enough, in many (most ?) games with bikini armors, this rule doesn't apply to men, who, when they are warriors, are usually protected from head to toe by the mightiest possible armors, armors who suddendly became skandily bikinis on women.
Having said that, they are a couple of very nice armor for Genesis 9, like the Iron Lady Outfit from Victoria 9's fantasy bundles (as an added bonus, it works great with on Genesis 8 too) and the Defender Outfit from a Joan 9's bundle (as far as I remember, I was less succesfull when I tried to use it on Genesis 8).
The Sword Legacy Outfit from the other Joan 9's bundle is almost as great as is the one in the Calypso 9 bundle, but, why high-heels with no flat footed option ?
Speaking of double standard, your exchange with @AOBB gave me an idea for a short story with a couple of renders , with just a preface that I feel it's important: the dress used for Skadi is from a G8F and G8M freebies by SickleYied, and, this set is an 'equal opportunity' set: it's as skimpy on men and women.
Items used on the gallery: Double Standard (1)
@Elor - That is so right on the money. I had a good chuckle reading your story. Yes, we are dealing with a double standard and frankly, it hurts me. I think there is place for everything in this world, including on the DAZ website, but a certain balance should be kept. The DAZ website has lost this balance. Everything in moderation.
@Elor ... I hope she got overtime for that photoshoot! lol. Made me laugh... Gotta laugh these days ;)
I quite like the Halloween Face Paintings. https://www.daz3d.com/halloween-face-paintings-lie-for-genesis-9
The most secure prison is one in which the captives fancy themselves emancipated.
@xyer0 - Ditto!
I just grabbed this because it looks so cool

Ergou's Door Buster, Xue Hair https://www.daz3d.com/xue-hair-for-genesis-9 looks pretty and has attractive colours, but it doesn't seem to have any morphs at all; at least they are not mentioned on the product page. Yet they would be absolutely necessary for longer hair. I also don't like the fact that you probably can't change the hairline (as with AprilYSH's products, for example), which is very low on this model.
I don't know what to do with it yet, but you're right - it's very cool. Iconic. It's already in my car.
I thought the same thing... but I bought it anyway... Hopefully it will work with extreme poses :) I'll make do!
No morphs. But it did have a simulation line to my shock.
Beware of the Chet Hair for G9 though, it came up at 4.4 million vertices and when I tried to load it on my MacBook Pro, it crashed Daz Studio. My Win 10 with a 1080Ti was okay. But not sure if I can add anything else to that screen.
Thanks for the heads up for the Xue hair... I don't mind simulating... I didn't get the Chet hair... I already have hair similar so I'm saving my GC for stuff that I don't have ;) Thank you.
This is off thread and I apologize to the mods, but seeing the comments about "bikini armor" above, I just have to post these panels from the Hallowe'en story I'm (frantically) working on.
(The image is pretty big so I'm going to let you click on the attachment to see it, and if you click it a second time to fully zoom, hopefully it'll show it to you at a size where you can actually read the dialogue bubbles.)
Brilliant and hilarious
4.4 million does seem a huge amount for any hair, and this one is not even a dForce / mesh hair. Paradoxically I often find with many polygon hairs that the less hair there is, the more polygons they need. A lot of shaved and receding hair seem to need eye watering numbers of vertices and polygons, where as long flowing hairs can still look good with 100K or less.
+2... I scooped it up as soon as the clock rolled over Daz at 2am my time... lol. I'll be working on some artwork shortly ;)
So Xue Hair is a dforce hair? How does it look after a sim is done on it?
I'm playing with it now... I don't see any dforce commands but it did let me simulate but nothing happened... The hair on her chest is stuck pretty good and doesn't move... I've rotated the head around and it stays put on her chest. Pretty lovely hair for a dollar! All in all... I like it.
I've added a few renders... You can play a little with the LEFT SHOULDER and LEFT UPPER ARM to move a bit of the edges near her chest but that's about it. Hope this helps everyone.
Maybe Mirror Geometry would give you at least one option? Since it is not dForce exactly and simulation is a bust and no morphs.
Agreed memcneil70... I have it on my wish list ;) Just waiting for a good sale price.
No, Mirror Geometry does not support strand-based or dForce hair.
yep... I know... this is just plain hair... no dforce... no strands... If you want to see it... zoom in on the renders I did above please... :)
I don't see any renders that would indicate what kind of hair it is. You said it simulated. Only hair with dForce applied would simulate (either strand-based dForce hair or cloth-based dForce hair). I didn't like the look of the hairline, so I didn't buy it - even for $1. So, since I don't own it and you do, I'll drop out of the discussion now.
The Xue hair is just a standard polygon hair, no dForce, either strand or dForce cloth, so I am confused where anyone saw the settings that suggested it could be simulated.
Naturally you can add a dForce modifier yourself, and I did try this. Given it is a 300K poly hair the simulation was slow, but at least the hair did not fall apart. It likely needs a weightmap modifier adding to it to restrict simulation to only certain parts of the hair. Simulation is thus an option given the absence of movement morphs.
Thanks for the info... That was my next test. I take it the whole hair just drooped off her head??? That's what usually happens when I try to simulate hair... lol. Ends up as a puddle on the floor... LOL!
Thank you, Llola Lane! It actually looks good; the hairline is not too low either.
Too bad it's over $24 today.... That price for hair without morphs is a bit unrealistic, isn't it?
