    Mermaid: Thanks.

(quote): "nice addition of the planes"
Kudos to you for this inspiration, cf. your recent landscape image with the biplane! :)

@ all: I'll post one more of those bizarre landscapes. Then I really need to recover from doing (grumble) landscapes... with some Shiny Spheres™.

hubert - again a very interesting and well done landscape type of render.

Mermaid - the terrain looks beautiful. very well done.

Hubert - your Terrains are beautiful too, but... this poor little palm looks so lonely...

    Fencepost - beautiful abstract Artworks.

Horo - all your spheres looks wonderful.... and I love the light.

nvllcasting - I agree with Horo and Mermaid, a Ship is a good Idea. And, this is a very good beginning.

i wanted to share a recent attempt at using the mirrored terrain as a water thing instead of the typical mountain thing.. it's an animated GIF for now, working on rendering higher resolutions at the moment...
i've tried attaching it as a file to this comment but if that doesnt work, here's an imgur link:

benbr11, sorry that I missed your image post.  I really like the first two.  They have a combination landscape and abstract look.

hubert, I sneezed and your sand castle collapsed.  So, so sorry :(   Just teasing, though it does look like sand.  I like the addition of the flying aircraft.  I presume that the woodies made them?

Retro3DCG, that is so cool!!  Looks like water and the animation is excellent.

Retro3DCG - looks nice, animation too.

hubert : great futuristic landscape, sort of a city in the sand as I see it.

Retro3DCG : very nice render, love the animation.

No problem! There's already another one ready to be posted. ;P

(quote) "I like the addition of the flying aircraft."
I too. It gives that image some sense of scale/depth.

(quote) "I presume that the woodies made them?"
Nope, fortunately not. -- If so, those thingies would be airborne only for few milliseconds! :)

@Hansmar - I'm going to borrow both your paintings to run them thru the TE-Filter, hopefully you don't mind.

    Mermaid, be my guest!

The terrain was self made and given a material from Grand Mountains. A volumetric slab for the clouds with a material inspired by gat (see bryce5.com, Material X-Change, p2, Col 8: Volume Clouds (gat)). The ambient light by the Blue64x234 HDRI made with the UniHDRI program (free on my website) and the key light by the sun.

Both of Hansmar’s paintings were manipulated in the TE Filter Program after changing the resolution and making it a 16bit grayscale tiff. Lighting and material from Terrain stacking product.

Another version of Hansmar’s paintings; the material from the Grand Mountains modified, and the sky is a modified preset.
