If you don't already have these tools, they make using USC and USXT much easier.
Visual Switcher from the Camera Doctor set

Canary's Camera
https://www.daz3d.com/canarys-cameras
Thank you for the recommendations. I picked up Camera Doctor yesterday and tried out Visual Switcher. I really like it, as I do all of RSA's products. The problem is that Iray preview takes forever to kick in, and that's using the "No Features" feature, and USXT doesn't fully appear until you render. I only had a chance to use it briefly though. I'll use it on my next render to see if I can get a good enough starting view in Texture Shaded mode.
I typically use Canary's Cameras with USC, but for this scene I used a movie camera from IG Photographer's Toolbox: Cinematic Cameras. You just have to remember to turn off DOF, as it isn't apparent until you zoom in.
Dreamy island...
'Raptor Island" appears to be a fortress with gaping cliffs. These are awesmone use of custom terrain maps.
I'm sure we are all interestedin your workflow.
Thanks a lot, @Tugpsx.
There is so much fun with these custom maps.
I apply the map to the height map and the displacement
and try to find the other presets to suit my needs.
@Artini, your custom maps are incredible! Great work!
Thank you very much, @dawnblade.
Below is another one.
Hey @Artini - I love your islands!
Today was my first chance to play with The Tropics - here are a couple of (really rather ordinary) renders - same scene, different camera angles. The background is USCXT with the first tropics biome and the foreground is USC Mossy Hollow.
I'm enjoying UltraScenery XT more and more!
Oh, and here's my first one using the Hinchinbrook preset, with a couple of birds...
Mossy Hollow sure goes well with the Tropocs. Nice renders.
I've been trying out some recent acquisitions. Desert Diorama is the foreground scene, UltraSceneryXT is the background with a sparse Tropics biome. The character is Mina 8.1 HD and the outfit is Sci-Fi Pilot. It is not the typical garment I would buy, but anything by Linday is too well done to pass up when it is on sale.
Thanks a lot, @MelanieL.
Your renders looks very nice.
Nice composition, @barbult.
Thanks, barbult - the Desrt Diorama works rather well with the USC-XT background.
Thanks too, Artini.
Interesting how well USC-XT works for foreground also.
This was my try with the Desert Diorama, though I opted to pair it with one of the desert biomes.
The Bikini Islands
Your funniest one yet!
That's not funny atoll.
Thanks a lot for the comments, @barbult and @paulawp.
UltraSceneryXT is an amazing product and I cannot stop using it.
I think, that one, I will call:
The heightmap craziness
After seeing my monitor from the edge and finding a way of replicating the strange colours, I tweaked my 'Daintree Dreaming' image to turn it into a 'Daintree Nightmare' image:
Regards,
Richard
The other island...
What would be a good addition for the tropical bundle for close-ups? Almost ready to pull the trigger, but I would love some suggestions for scenes that might need a bit more detail with a human in the foreground for example.
This had crossed my mind as well.
Cheers,
Alex.
Thanks! I will look that up!
Example render of USX Preset 25 BlueHills from https://www.daz3d.com/ultrasceneryxt--tropics
with added grass and American Bison.
@Artini Nice mix of USXT and USC for the foreground grass. Try this scene with a few LUTS to reveal the hidden treasure.
Thanks for sharing.
