I will call her Black Widow. I tried to mute out a lot of the color to give that black and white theme. When I was working on her I started to go with idea of one of those pictures you get at the local fair. Earlier in the day I was going with another idea but couldn't get my wolf to render. All work done in Dazpro 4.6 with no postwork.
Is "fan art" of our favorite horror films allowed?
No title yet.
No postwork. I still need to work on lighting. This is lit with 3 distant lights and that was just so I could see while creating the composition.
I was planning on adding more figures but my computer is already lagging and I am not sure it can handle the extra load.
I am hoping to create some fog effect along the ground with AoA's camera.
I like this one very much. It's always tempting to ban warm and friendly colors from a horror render, or to make things too dark. You avoided both pretty neatly: you give the impression of a dark night, without simply blacking out everything.
One of the two ideas I have in mind.
Yes of course. If you wanna do a move poster of your favorite movie you can. You can do a certain scene from a movie. This is pretty much an open contest. As long as its horror based.
Spooky looking. Looks good
What would work really nice would be the blood dripping of the knife onto her leg and have it rolling down it

Something like this?
(not quite happy)

Yes, much better
Here's my WIP
Not sure if I'm going to stay with the view.
But I like it so far...Now I need to add some better lighting and other stuff
I hope I'm still new enough to qualify for this :)
Not quite happy with this, but I'm not sure what it's missing :(
I call it "Welcome"
Plenty new enough. We will actually tell you when You are OK to "graduate"
:D Thank you
I was getting worried because I didn't know how it was determined other than maybe join date or forum title or something.

No nothing like that. We actually base it on how many times you win or get placed in the contest. WE have had many long discussions on how it is best to determine when someone is no longer to be considered a New User. It is difficult to determine, as people learn at different speeds.
Just thought I'd put my latest render up. Didn't even know this part of the site existed! Been too busy loading my cart up each week for my fortnightly spending binge (totally adicted! :)
Hope this one makes the contest for this month. Finally got the Hugo character I wanted. Pheobe needed him. They look so cool together. Can't wait to do another with these two. Enjoy.
I see lots of creepy renders coming together...everyone is off to a very good start. Feel free to ask if you have any questions about your work, or how to achieve a certain look.
Ok, I'm starting to like it more now :)
I just can't seem to get the gremlins' eyes to glow as brightly as I want though :( I've got ambient set to 200% and I've also added !uber light base to the eyes and set the intensity to 500%
Alright, I think I managed to get the eyes bright enough :)
What do you guys think, what needs fixed?
That certainly makes a difference. I didn't even notice them before. I really like the addition of the demon in the bookcase.
"Do you think if I went with you, this Wizard would give me some braaains?"
Very nice Atticus.
Creepy render Atticus!
The only thing that's bugging me is the solidity of the scarecrow body, my opinion is it needs something to break that up.
Thanks! I know what you mean... an article of clothing perhaps?
That would probably work best, as long as it's grunged up :)
I like how you can just make out ribs in the chest so maybe an old pair of pants?

There are rules ya know. ;-P
I agree with kaotkbliss about the pants.
I couldn't find any pants in my runtime that suited it... Does this help?
@kaotkbliss I posted in a rush without looking up at the others and honestly only just noticed that yours has glowing red eyes too.
Great minds think alike, eh?
That breaks it up nicely, just enough.
Poor Mr. scarecrow...
LOL I noticed that.
Nothing says "creepy-evil" like red glowing eyes!
