Thanks so much for posting this Novica, I have tried using deformers and gave up! Thanks to your perseverence I am going to try again.

I still have a few questions about it regarding the base and a product, so will be back on that thread and find out a bit more. But I can now create my own slider, get it to the right path easily (put it on that thread) and SAVE it so it doesn't disappear. And I know what folder to find it in if I want to delete it. I'll probably do a tutorial. The biggie that took me 13 hours (well, actually, 15) is that if you aren't USING the morph at least a little bit, it won't spawn the morph. I had "undo" a couple times, and it went back past the slider registering anything, so when I kept spawning the morph, NADA. Grrrrrr.

The BEST video is by Medhue- trust me, you can do it following it, and it's SO slow and easy. Will show you what folder it ends up in, etc.
I listed it in that thread.

The "this isn't working thread" lol. Has screenshots step by step of how to do a d-former. Keep in mind all screenshots (from both Jaderail and myself) are CORRECT. The problem was that the slider was set to zero- there was no morph being applied! (Yeah, laugh- both Jaderail and Fisty were SO good to help me, and it was a "Duh" that I didn't have a morph in action to save! Since you know the answer, it will make the thread a "C'mon folks, ask her if the morph is being used!"

But I am asking additional questions at the end too- such as combining morphs.

    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/41191/

The BEST d-form video. Carnite's is good too, but this goes slower, and shows you where the folder goes, and how to create the custom slider.

Okay, something funky with my studio, I keep getting the "this is missing" error when loading characters:
    /data/Age of Armour/Subsurface Shaders/AoA_Subsurface/AoA_Subsurface.dsf

so I am getting grainy results with lights. How do I solve this?!

Solution (DAZ_Jared told me) Go to Dim and type this in Search: (then install.) Don't know how they got uninstalled, my renders have been fine for months and the lights were there. Go figure.

Type this in: Default Lights and Shaders for DAZ Studio

I posted this back with my other grainy one, but here is the AOA one (default, as loads) of Naaru. Here's the research I did on grainy shadows. BTW, if you're not checking the reference links when you have a problem, remember to do that. I am still constantly adding links. I just added these under shadows: shadow grunge. I haven't read all of them yet. EDIT: As you can see, I have different grainy going on now! Now it's the thigh.

I read all those threads on shadow grunge (aka, grainy) and messed with a lot of settings. This is a Naaru closeup and although you can still see some grunge, it's much better.

I'm busy making morphs- options I've wanted for a long time for the face, some are miniscule changes but I'm loving it!

I have so far resisted Giselle, as I am not real interested in fairies. But I am being tempted by these renders, Novica, a little grainy or not. :cheese:

Anyway, here is a pose set I like.

    Invited Guest Contributor

    Sitting Pretty for Gia

I bought this pose set because I like that she is sitting down without the usual arched back - some of them are almost slouched. They are tough girl poses for tough girl Gia, so a few of them might look a bit off with other female figures, but good for male figures. There are a total of sixteen poses. All are shown here.

I like most of them and they don't need much adjustment. The only problem was finding a chair the right height with the right kind of back. I didn't quite, had to use a chair from The Old West Saloon Interior and put a cushion on it.

Thanks for doing those Luci- isn't it funny how which chair you choose makes such a difference?! I'd like to see the vendor TELL us which chair is used in the promo, or make and provide it as the prop.

There is a good variety there, I like the one with the knee bent up and resting on the seat of the chair- that's the position that seems natural and what people do when they are really relaxed. (Well, if you're athletic, lol.) Also like the backward facing straddle positions.

I'm like a bulldog, when I finally figure something out I stick to it, and so I'm morphing and not Giselle-ing at the moment. I'm actually trying to do unique morphs to perhaps get into the selling aspect of it down the road. I know those face sliders inside and out and am targeting changes that I've personally wanted, so this should be interesting. :)

Giselle is a character I'll use, but I'm not "OMGosh where have you been all my life???!!!" I would much rather have a new child that looks like a child, with a lot of neat characters that are unique, with a new line of kids' clothing and props. Out of the box so to speak. And more men :)

This pose set comes with its own chair:

I bought the Giselle 6 Base character, but not the bundles. More for the addition to the gene-pool and the textures than anything else. :)

    Good to know tjohn :)

Anyone interested in learning more about morphs, I started this thread in Commons for some nitpicky questions I have.

The videos I've seen are good, but don't go quite far enough in explaining the aspects which can make the process easier and also with better results.

    "Peppermint"
    Product Used: Giselle 6
    http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/giselle-6

I wasn't overly excited about Giselle, as Fae characters aren't really my thing. But...
I changed my mind when I dressed her in Florabelle for V4 and Genesis.
    http://www.daz3d.com/florabelle-for-v4-and-genesis
Put Pyrit Hair for Genesis 2 Female(s) on her head (adding a green diffuse to the white material preset)

And set her down in Return To The Enchanted Forest.
    http://www.daz3d.com/return-to-the-enchanted-forest

When I saw the result - well I've never "squeed" before so I'm not sure, but I think I may have gone "squee" just a little.

Here are some renders using the Horatio shader. Barbult asked me about him earlier. I am not real crazy about the morph as the head shape is kind of weird. I like the the lack definition on the lips - one of the things that happens to us old folks. I wish she had made some lines around the mouth though. One of these uses the Horatio morph with some Aging Morphs for Genesis. The other one uses David with the Aging Morphs. The closeup is just Horatio as is.

(I added a few more Phoenix1966 men to my earlier post including Horatio.)

Lici45, Thanks for the Horatio renders and comments.

Heads up, you get $5 off $30 purchases, no code required.
I am so sick and tired of this being introduced sporadically and not when new things are introduced for the day. I just re-ordered what I ordered this morning and cancelled the previous order to get the $5 off. I probably could have just asked to get the discount, not sure which is easier for Britney or what she's allowed to do- but not taking any chances. So if you bought this morning and it was over $30, or close to $30, be aware of this offer right now. :)

It's not an email, go to New Releases and it's in the scrolling banner. Not sure if your total has to be $30 before or after the $5 is applied. My order was $36.something after the other promos were applied (buy a featured, get (I think) 60% off that person's store.

Test it this way- go to http://www.daz3d.com/nikkelah-ghaz and plop the sunflower, forgotten refuge, and the lamps in your cart, then go to the new releases and put couples in love poses in your cart. See what it does. Those came to about $31 with the $5 automatically applied.

    Those are very nice!
My cousin Lynn and I were both national magazine artists, but I was just a sporadic freelancer (was full time on a university faculty, so it was just a hobby) she was on the cover of Practical Horseman and Equus a few times. Believe it or not, I didn't do horses, I was an avian and African artist primarily. When Hurricane Isabel hit the East Coast in 2003, all my stuff was in storage up there (we had already moved) and the warehouse roof leaked and we were not informed, I lost all my dining and living room furniture and all my art tear sheets and originals. I am kinda extreme in that I did realistic, but the highest demand was for my pointillism. If I can find the xerox copies I did of the horse and some of the humane society animals I did for their magazine, I'll share. :)

On the $5 off 30 thing. I had 13 PC items from the V4/M4 sale then added Ruins of Angor Wat. Price in my cart jumped from $10.35 to $11.33. It looks like the coupon is calculating the pc items on the $1.99 ignoring the discount for the V4/M4 sale. Next I tried 16 pc items from the same sale. Cart said $7.74.

My eyes. No sexy retro pinup stuff for me....... =-)

Okay. I do see what I'm doing wrong. It appears to be the total dollar amount has to be 30. I was thinking it was the original amount. I wish the carts would show the actual dollar calculations. Makes it tough to buy stuff in the store, when I cannot fathom the sales discounts.

I'm going to pass. I'm in a funny mood. If stuff is too complicated, I'm going to pass on it. =-)

I wouldn't call what I used to do with oils and acrylics professional, although I did sell a few pieces. :)
I painted this acrylic of my late Father's miniature collie, Shep, for his birthday. My painting style was a bit sloppy, to say the least.

Well the $5.00 off worked for me. I saw the banner and threw a few things in my cart that I had been admiring. I was very happy with what I got. The discount applied to the pre-discount prices, that is before the 60% off. Maybe it was a glitch, but it's nice to get lucky now and then.

Here is one of the items I bought and I am posting it now while it is still on sale, in case any one might be interested.

    Woodgod M4 H4

This is an older one that I have been admiring for a few years. It is very dramatic looking. Probably the face paint and tatoos help - they don't come with it. With the 60% off and the $5 off of $30, the price somehow came out to $5.00! The full price is $19.00.

I don't use M4 much, so the following applies to Autofit on Genesis. (I haven't tried it on Genesis 2 Male yet.) I put this on Genesis and it fits pretty well, with some adjustments. The skirt of course is a mess with Autofit with the nasty wrinkle in the front, so I didn't use "fit to", just parented to abdomen. There are morphs to move the skirt back and front, twist etc. This works pretty well. Comes with two sets of textures, and couple of weapons. A nice skimpy loin cloth is included that fits fairly well (there are some weird wrinkles in crotch area) and the moccasins also fit the feet OK, without too much distortion.

It is probably great for M4 as-is, has lots of morphs. The two sets of textures are nice.

You are so welcome. Although I am a kind person, I am generally picky and critical when it comes to painting, being a frustrated painter myself. I just truly love that painting and the style you used. It is is very expressive as well - the dog looks very lovable. BTW, I had a Sheltie when I was a kid. He was a great dog.

Shep is as well done as many of the "professional" pieces I've seen Tjohn! The mixture of the blues and black for the highlights, mixed with the lighter lavender (or lilac, depends on your monitor, lol) are extremely nice. I like to see artists who think out of the box! :) And those dogs are real gems. I had a full blown collie- and oh, the hair everywhere when summer rolled around and he shed his winter coat!
