Waporwave Ghoul
Working on some character redesigns for my comic.
Went back to using Genesis 1, just because I really like the playground of stylized facial options it offers.

i like the whole shot, but the hair is at a great place where it's got the strandy realism, with the toony flavor, and no tug toward uncanny valley.
solid work, this.

DG Toon Style Hair Shader. It plays very well with toon rendering.
wow, my take on that set was more of an exaggerated/stylized application, but your use is spot-on for your character and doesn't pull attention to the hair in an unbalanced way (as many of the presets in that set might have) - it just looks 'right'. The product presets have a certain place in the toony domain, so I'm not knocking the product at all (I own them) - but in my toolkit, I would have totally missed that opportunity. My eyes opened a bit - a pleasant suprise.
tnx for the info!

No problem. What I do is apply the hair preset I want, then the toon shader(in this case Daz Default Toon Matte) to the hair, apply the settings I want and turn the bump map off.

More Dot goodness. (Genesis 1 based 3.0 Redesign)
Incidentally in the MM-verse, Ghouls eyes are completely black. Dot wears colored contacts to give people a focal point when talking to her.
She also dyes her hair, hence why her brows and lashes are black, instead of blue. Ghouls are very plain looking, and Dot likes to buck the trend.
various "virtual" technical reference i made:
all are fictional
Practicing on one of my male characters. He's a pretty boy demon type, so Genesis 1 was the perfect base as you can mix in feminine facial morphs since its all contained in the same base figure.
Hi guys nice works
The return of "El Punchador", Mysterious Missouri's bafflingly specific superhero, who stops exactly one brand of criminal activity: Ninjas mildly inconveniencing people.
Out of all of these redesigns I've done, Camilla here is the one that really made me step back and go "Wow!".
Some handsome Kaiju made with Dragon 3.
Some El Punchador fodder rendered in my new style.

Another contribution from me as I've gone back to trying some more Anime style renders. This one based off Suguri from 100% Orange Juice / Acceleration of Suguri games.

For my next set of renders, I will be using machinima backgrounds with daz models, lets see how that comes out, the model will look more or less like a SecondLife model using Aiko 3 and using a PNG plane as a casting shadow. Unlimited backgrounds can be found there and is all 3D.
Testing the cel animation style shading.
