I foolishly cropped the feet in this image but the shoes from https://www.daz3d.com/20-50-cyberpunk-everyday-clothes-for-genesis-3-male-s autofit flawlessly and fit the styling:
I took him to be a member of the Ramses court in Ancient Egypt as a Priest of some sort. Not directly, but as inspiration for the character you have there.
The bleached out look is common in DAZ Land. I bought the Mousso Vernon character that uses the Merchant Resource texture set (the one some members of the forum complained had two *s, yeah, who knew?) and to make the character lighter as their Vernon specs called for it was apparrent they scrubbeed a lot of the color out of the texture's face which is the opposite of reality, where most pale folk wind up with farmer's tans.
The females in DAZ Land don't have this problem near as much as they have more merchant resources to work from and many are naturally pale but the male merchant resources textures are few and far in between and tend to be darker than average too.
I still like the Vernon sculpting but the textures are DAZ Land average and redundant in an inflexible way. That's not bad, every collection has an average as it's just a mathematical concept for the collection.
Wow! I love that image. Maybe you still have the scene file, but that's awesome!
He does have an Egyptian vibe. He did remind me of Teal'c from Stargate.
When I saw the promo, I thought he had a gianni kind of tan. I was surprised to learn, his skin had been lightened from default in the promos, since, thats not the look I got when I rendered him. Yes it is a skin option, but by default he is much darker.
I don't have the scene file but this was a easy one: there is the new Iray Nomad texture, two Faber characters (Ozias and Novak) and a PedroFurtoStudio pose (He Love Him), the new and old Aeon Soul outfits (Everyday and Cyberpunk), and light #20 in the Pro-Studio HDR Lighting System!
Ohcooo. Thanks. I'll check those things out.
I should mention for those who are interested I do have a deviant art account. There I am Serenenight1
Many Owen and Boyd images are posted there. I try to keep renders pg13. There is one with Boyd unintentionally showing his hiney, but this is appropriately flagged mature.
i thought I'd mention that in case anyone wanted to see more of the collection.
Fury the Piglet is... My favorite DAZ store animal so far. I can't get enough of the... Oinky cuteness. It is a sickness I am telling you!
Now I just need to find a pearlescent shader for the horn!
What a cute litter!
I don't own it but there is this Shades of Pearl product in the store. I bet you already have an appropriate shader, though, if you can just find it. AllenArt has some jewelry shaders on ShareCG that are nice. Here is the link. https://sharecg.com/v/95893/gallery/21/DAZ-Studio/Iray-Jewelry-Shaders.
Yeah, isn't that the truth? I do have a ton of shaders. But I don't have those pretty pearl ones. Man those look cool!
Try the free AllenArt ones. They are nice.
okay, downloading now!
Okay, so next up on the man list is Vernon HD for Genesis 8 males. Vernon is advertised as having 3 different facial morphs. One teen, one 20-something and one 30-something. He has the same body though.
First off, it is difficult to tell for me, which is supposed to be which. The character is Just listed as Veron Default. (I assume 20 something), Vernon alt and Vernon head younger. Perhaps labeling them teen, 20 something and 30 something might be better and less confusing?
Default Veron is a smooth guy. He looks good, his body is smooth, the skin renders well. Veron Alt is scowly looking with a slightly bigger head, I am assuming that is 30 year old Vernon (?) , and Vernon Teen has a thin face.
Applying the aging morphs proved a challenge. You have to use the morphs included with the character to get them right, since both seem to need default vernon head slider to look correct. I'm honestly not sure, how you would dial teen vernon. I'm sort of accustomed to single sliders doing it. But it looks like you must dial default default vernon first then apply alt or young vernon. Very confusing and sometimes both.
Regardless here are the vernons.

Veron 30 years old
Teen Version
I have an account there too but have never posted anything as I'm not productive enough to. I am following you now but I usually forget I even have an account there.
Well it was nice to include the alternate heads but since the body stays the same it really removes the teen from the equation because a teens body would be slimmer/smaller even on the 20yr old the head looks to small to me. Also looks like he has stubble on his face which a teen mostly wouldnt have. (that could be just the image they are grainy so kinda hard to be sure)
He still looks good though, I will definitely pick him up at some point.
I just find the heads to be confusing and how to apply them confusing, since you seem to need several to get them to work. So the dials are harder to use. The base figure is great though, and I like his skin. He's also a really good price right now.
Did you use the lights from set 3 or was it set 1? I ask because set 3 seems more bluish.
Set 3, if I remember....
I agree. Next time I tried them I was going to propogate scale the head by about 10%
Boyd-bot has gotten an upgrade, although I am not keen on his 'vents' being quite so big. Seems like all kinds of goop can get in there. But, he's more military-looking now.
When Owen fell in love with a brain, his friends tried to talk him out of it...
It really could never work. Boyd-Bot might be cute and funny, but a marriage, or relationship couldn't last! Well, they were wrong on that score.
Diversity wins!
It does!
I tried the oily skin texture from the MAXX skin pack on Owen. It is not very noticible in this light... But... the image reminded me of Darryl Worley's song on You Tube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXYvur_okT4&list=RDYXYvur_okT4&index=1 Although, Owen isn't straight or much of a drinker. The rest of the song is very close.
Good old fashioned sound (well 70s old fashioned I guess) country song sound.
I like Maxx HD's settings and the subtle oil & also the glossy settting. Not too much & they make the character you apply them too just a little more naturally 3D looking.
So this is a peeve of mine. Why are morphs from Frosty and the Matchstick loading on this side, and not with the other morphs. What purpose does Owen need shoulder ridge spikes and claws?
Has anyone gone through and pruned your expression morph dials? I'm feeling the urge, since I seem to have about 50 evil grin expressions, that I just don't need. But I struggle with it being overly complicated to locate the pose expression creator.
Owen and his Boyd. I dredged up the old Espionage outfit for Scott 6, Genesis 2. It conformed pretty well, and made a nice commando outfit. For some reason, the black beret always looks more tough, than any of the others. So I think he'll wear this one from now on. I ran this through some filters, because I wanted it to be more gritty rather than... my usual.
Because the PA forgot to save them out to the usual location & then the DAZ QC, since DAZ has no standards, the excuse being, "It's art.", didn't check the location of such things. They may of not even been told the morphs exist although DAZ 3D should have software than scans new products and lists all the morphs, jcm, mcm, textures, presets, and so on so that the QA is aware of them and can test them.
