Okay, on the topic of men's clothing here is DZ G8M FaZhion Set 5.

In particular, I like the pants. They have some nice details around the pocket ara. The shirt is a caftan style long sleeve, which I don't find particularly flattering on Boyd.

Included in the set are some slipon shoes.

Here are the toddler twins for Gen 8. They are... Super cute. https://www.daz3d.com/toddler-twins-for-genesis-8

There appears to be something funny about the boy's left eye. It seems to be different in some way. I haven't figured it out.

The girl's eyes look okay to me, but something seems to be giving the boy a buggy left eye. If anyone has the figure can you take a look?

See, now I want to see the guys raising twins. Just for the moments when they'd be thinking, "You know, an alien attack would be WAY easier than this."

I have been really wanting the double stroller over at Turbosquid for some time now. Maybe when they do a black friday sale I can make twins happen.

If Owen did not meet Boyd, it is likely that he would adopt 7 kids and at least 4 cats. After the war, there are sadly plenty of orphans to go around, and Owen is an animal lover. He also has the patience for kids, having been a sergeant for so long.

I was intrigued after I saw a drawing of a picture within a picture, so decided to try doing a picture within a picture image.

Nic helpfully pointed out, that the Selfie Stick, includes some psd files, so you can ad your own images.

I had to tweak the settings though to make the emissive match the image. And the reflection of Boyd's limbless torso in the glass had to be done away with. It is basically an arm, holding the camera... Otherwise, there are reflections and shadows on the phone that I didn't want or need.

The added relfection of the phone users might be the third trifecta of this sort of pic, but I tend to flind relfections in glass, really distorted in studio.

I hadn't realized one was a boy & the other a girl. If the boy is the one in blue than one eye is slightly bigger than the other. The cause can be as simple as normal eye dominance to a medical condition to an injury, eg one of my eyes appears larger than the other because the eyelids and muscles that surround it are partially paralyzed after an accident but there are things like lazy eyes and other causes too. I don't know if deepseas' source models had that asymmetry though. You'll notice such asymmetry in most people to varying degrees and as they get older it will become more apparent like you ever notice some folk habitually squint one eye (I think it's usually the right but ain't sure).

While it is definitely realistic that the face is not symmetrical, I think this is a bug, or a morph which is being dialed in, since the girl doesn't have it, and it isn't visible in the promo art.

I am beleaguered from putting in service requests, but will probably do so one of these days. So far, none of the requests I've submitted lately have been completed but all have been escalated to bug tracker.

Does the eye issue show up immediately when the character is loaded in the default pose? If not, could it be caused by the expression that is dialed in?

I actually sent 2 complete scenes and made 2 videos for 2 different bugs I reported. They can be even more work than trying to create a scene in DAZ Studio to begin with.

This is the boy's head, by default staring straight out. The left eye looks different in shape slightly. It is slightly noticible here, but more noticible when expressions are applied. I'm not sure if it is a bug, or a feature, but it either is larger, or the texture might be larger on that side.

I only have a couple hours at night to do renders. Submitting tickets cuts into my render time, and takes me about 15 minutes. Plus the system is awkward with redundant questions, and captcha. It needs to be streamlined for user friendliness, and things like tagging things by problem type is something the helpdesk should do behind the scenes.

If you login (upper right corner) on the Submit a Request page, you don't have to deal with captcha at all.

    This turned out really well.

I think captchas don't happen if you submit the ticket logged into your DAZ account.

  • Ah thanks for the captcha tips. Good to know.

Boyd has fallen asleep while performing his primary function! Protecting Owen.

This eclectic room, is one of the Brain guild's safehouses for Paired partners. It is likely a church because of the stained glass windows.

This pose was very cute and came with La Pasion pose set.

As a side note..."Owen" and now "Silas"? If Daz3d releases a Boyd down the road, then you'll know this thread is bugged!

  • Yeah, I admit the naming choices make me suprised. I chose names that weren't that common for my major figures as well.

Here is Myles. He is the character I like best so far.

Owen, Boyd, Silas, Myles are sort of common names here. I know folk make fun of Elmer & Homer and such names but they are still in use around here too. Although some parents are trying weird names like Sky and such too.

  • I have been around the states and not found a place where Owen Boyd or Silas are common names.

I've lived for years on the East and West coast of the US. in England, New Zealand and two countries on the African continent and I have never met a Boyd, Owen, or Silas before. So, from my perspective, I would say that they aren't that common.

    For fun, there is this site that tells you in the United States how common a name is out of over 330 million residents;

Less than 43k have Owen as a first name

Less than 15k have Silas as a first name

Less than 32k have Boyd as a first name

Very interesting. I would not say that is common at all, especially Silas. DAZ has some 'splaining to do.wink

On a different note, love the big buttons, for posting comments. Seems an improvement.

Okay, so Bernard HD, for Silas. He has a very nice dark skin. This is his character fully loaded. The only negative I've found is the brows. Either they render white for me, or something was not applied correctly texture-wise. They aren't white in the promos. This is the default load character.

Here is Malik HD for Silas. A very nice figure. Lots of detail, and exotic features. There is a hair, as well, but I thought I'd bought it, but apparently NO! That'll teach me to rush though the store on new release day!

The skin is definitly crackly, like elephant skin. It appears some sort of texture issue. *Sigh* I shall put in a ticket.
