September I treat as the first month of fall. We pretty much lose fall to winter holidays after thanksgiving and sometimes before so I like to get the most from it. Because we don’t get three months...Plus fall traditions like school, sports, and pumpkin spice going to the apple farm and the fair happening right now
I just took my sister to the fair on Friday so that to me is the start of the fall season...in a few weeks we’ll go to a farm and get pumpkins.
In Boyd and Owens time, global warming and alien machinery have altered global weather. Things are warmer in general.
Owen was born in the fall and Halloween is Owens favorite holiday
I'm totally ready for all the autumn stuff to begin! The render I've got going right now is Halloween themed.
Maybe I should start something for Halloween, at the rate I'm going it'll probably be ready by Easter. Current summer themed one is driving me round the bend trying to get wet skin to look actually wet and not splotchy with paint or other substances.
I tend to get busy around the holidays do doing images earlier is essential. I also have time off and this year I want to release a pose set for profit.
I am making a Christmas Scene already and if my self-teaching of animating in DAZ goes OK and that a big and slow IIIIIFFFFF, then I'll be trying to create a 5+ minute animation from the scene; but for now I used your SN Owen & Boyd Rescue Pose set for this pose (slightly modified), so thanks.
That turned out great thank for sharing that.
Digi-Flare of Iray.
The trick with this, is make sure to make sure the flare is turned enough , so that the smoke and sparks panel aligns with your camera, and doesn't intersect with the figure.
Wow, that looks super & I need a 2nd style Sci-Fi Armour / Superhero suit to go with the one I got with the Toon Dwayne 8 Pro Bundle (SciFi Ninja I think it's called).
Okay, today we have Yvanovich hair and Beard. https://www.daz3d.com/yvanovich-bun-hair-and-beard-for-genesis-8-males
This product has a bug which means the hair doesn't parent properly to the head, making it difficult to use. You can manually parent it to the head, but I did submit a bug report. That said, I'll wait to see what the default fit is before I can give you complete opinion, but here is my attempt.
In general I'm not enthused about the look on Boyd. We'll see after it is fixed.
I have had to roll back my video driver. Something seems to be slowing Studio down to a crawl. I reverted back to 417.71 from January. Lets see if that works better.
Here is the dforce HK Hawaiian Shirts outfit for G8M
This outfit does require dforce to look good.
I personally thought the pants were nondescript and could be slightly longer at the ankle, perhaps even rolled. The shirt itself seems a bit short. Hawaiian shirts usually are roomier at the waist and more of a boxy fit, and they hang lower in the middle. This one curves up.
I did have some trouble with the sandals. In some poses, the sandals distort quite a lot. They seem attached to the toes or something.
Overall, there have been two recent Hawaiian men's outfits, and I prefer dforce Poolside Oahu to this set.
The M4 and Genesis Pajamas top would make a good Hawaiian shirt retextured.
SCI-fI Assault Armor for G8M.
This is a nice set. It is modular so you can load all items or just some. It includes cascading textures, so you don't need to texture items individually. loaded with some minor pokethrough which you can see on the armored green version left foot. Easily fixed though.
I have seen a picture on the net of a couple, their baby and dog in bed, with only their feet showing underneath the duvet. So I thought I'd line Owen, Boyd, and their doggo in bed, and use dforce. Oddly this is how it turned out. But I ended up sort of liking it. It wasn't the cute lined up foot picture I had intended though, because quite interestingly, the duvet sort of wrapped itself around them. So I decided to go with this.
Cute. But ... doggo wearing Cone of Shame. Wha' happened?
Doggo is grandad's creation made for Owen when he was a small boy. It was damaged trying to protect Owen from his mother's druggy boyfriend. Grandad has rebuilt doggo painstakingly, and left him asleep until Owen returns from deployment. He gives doggo to Boyd to give to Owen when he returns. Boyd doesn't know that doggo isnt' a real dog, since, Grandad is a master craftsman. Boyd doesn't realize until he discovers that doggo, is a dogbot, that Grandad is a genius. Up until then, Boyd fell for grandad's disinformation campaign. Something Grandad finds amusing.
I'm not sure why doggo is wearing the cone. I think perhaps he is still in need of repair. Or perhaps Boyd thinks doggo has just been fixed.
Needless to say, doggo seems to have acquired a cell phone and a toy and likely will assert its need for play and belly scratching quite soon.
When grandad comes to America from Ireland, his original plan was to make medical and companion animals, designed to protect and love their owners.
LOL, I think of the RCA Dog everytime I see a dog wearing one of those cones.
Did they ever fix this? I bought it, but saw your post before I could download, so I've just left it hanging out in DIM. The package dates make me suspect that it hasn't been touched, but I'm not sure.
Nope. it remains unfixed. The hair does not parent properly to the head, so when you load it, it moves with the morphs, and with the poses. It did get put in bug tracker.
On the subject of actual sci-fi and not hot dudes and their clothing (you mean they aren't the same thing?)
Drone Eye Warden was a recent purchase. I like the new textures included, and think they might help upgrade Boyd-Bots's look. Here is the camo version. Unfortunately there is a texture problem with this product. It seems that the fire and engine jets haven't been textured, so they look odd like flat emissive planes.
I hope this is just a bug, and that this is not how they are supposed to look!
At any rate, I did succeed in applying the gun textures from the 3dl version to the guns of the Iray version, but I could not do anything with the engine thrusters. They just looked like a blue cone, so... I left them off. I'll put a ticket in for the problem, but I don't know if there will be a fix... Which is too bad. Nice product. I'll hold off on saying more, until I see if the bug has been resolved.
I have submitted a ticket for that. Hopefully they can look into why textures aren't applying to the bots' weaponry.
Here is an image I made with the Drone textures, but I had to doctor them up with the 3Delight maps and surface adjustments. I hope they fix the product. PC+ QA dropped the ball on this one.
Oh, I love that! they look super cute on the leash, and the beam of light from the hat.... Thats awesome.
Yeah, I admit, lately I am somehwat frustrated with the amount of problems I've been having wtih new content. these are bugs/mistakes which are somewhat obvious if they had been thoroughly put through their paces. My feeling is for every accurate bug report a person has to submit we should get a small refund. If I am doing beta testing, I shoul be reimbursed.
I used a pose from the Walk the Dog product for the woman with the leashes. Then I just hid the dogs and added the drones. The hat light was post work. I originally tried using a spotlight and atmospheric prop, but rendering was ridiculously slow, so I had to give up.
That turned out well. I think it's super cute. I do hope they fix the drone. But somehow I feel pessimistic about it.
Today is national day of encouragement, and DeviantArt has a contest with a theme, of making someone smile.
My goal was to have Owen and Boyd show up for their date, doing things that make eachother happy. In this case, Boyd is wearing his cowboy suit, and has brought Owen a bouquet.
In Owen's case, he's wearing that outfit that Boyd bought for him, and has brought him the exact same bouquet.
The result was romantic, but less "smiley" so maybe I need to make it funnier at any rate, I used the H&C checked outfit and dforce caballero with a spot render of Boyd's hair to handle hat clipping.
I used Dreamlight's candy lights to create a romantic pink glow.
I struggled to find a good bouquet, as most are sort of rudimentary or wedding-y. I went back to the Pageant props bouquet, even though they look more like tulips than I would like.
Adorable!
Thanks! =-)
Next up we have Pilot Uniform https://www.daz3d.com/pilots-uniform-of-wwii
I really like the acessories with this. It is loaded with extras, including a crew option for the flight suit, boots, jumpsuit, parachute harness, helmet, and parachute pack.
There is a texture expansion which includes more textures.
The only problem I ran into with this is the male figure does not have the Japanese headscarf, but he does have the textures. You can find the scarf in the props included with the female uniform.
For my tastes, I think the flight suit is the weak point here. It just is too Marvelous Designer. I can tell, you can tell, everyone can tell, and it doesn't look good to me. You may want to add some dark to the diffuse of the white harness, and I would love a clean shoe option! Since the uniform itself is pristine the muddy shoes stand out to me.
I was going to skip buying that but all those accessories might change my mind. Thanks for the review.
Love this one. Very romantic!
