Anyway, here's some quickie "draws" of the great variety of texture options in the Iray Super Shaders.

In this section you can choose from matte, satin, glossy, metallic. I chose matte (which honestly still seems way too reflective) then went with the textured options. But here are the four shown first. Matte is the first one, seems glossier than satin!

    Matte and Satin

    Glossy and Metallic

    Acetate and Broadcloth

    Coarse Weave And Crinkled Foil

    Dry Weave and Fiberglass

    Grained Leather and Hexagon Plate

    Holofoil Round and Holofoil Square

Iron On (love that name!)  and  Linen (which is very subtle)

Okay, so here's the questions regarding some of the shaders- what would you apply Pleather and Plush shaders to?

Which of the above shaders are your favorites?

I really like seeing the textures. The ribbed knit one looks good and smooth knit as well.

I'd probably use most of these on leather boots.... They seem suited for thicker materials. Or perhaps as parts of a superhero costume.

Leather and upholstry for most of them Hexagon Plate could be used on Sci-Fi surface tiles and Armor the knits for sweaters and woven for common cloth

I have the Defiant Canary Classic Suits one & it is good but you have to limit the tiling within a limited range to have them look good. And if you do an entire suit with the same pattern it can look somewhat like pajamas but then that's true in real life too for some suit patterns.

I was ignoring the Patriotic shaders but now after seeing those textures I think they'll go on my wish list.

The Pleather reminds me of my 350Z seats (the car I just traded in) for the worn leather seats. It was smooth leather but as it was 15 years old, although kept in climate control except parked, it was starting to age with the heat and sun if parked elsewhere and general wear. The long cracks in Pleather remind me of that surface.

Definately one for upholstery (ihiuhokkojipop this part of comment by kitten deciding to help)

Into everything they can get into I thought I had kittens and not puppies as they destroyed a pair of flip flops and a pair of shoes from Cabellas

I've been playing litter box pinball with them from time to time Capt,Whitepaws has decided to make a game out of going to the litter box he'll scratch and assume the position and then as I get after him he'll  run and repeat He'll do this three maybe four times depending on where it starts and ends with him running to the litter box and using it He seems to think that it's great fun Guess the good part is that he only does it once in a while and only if he has to pee.

As of yesterday the table wars have started

Had mama Nudge fixed Thursday so she's moving kinda slow

There was a big search for Floyd float (from the promo) and two of us made one : https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/262086/what-is-the-duck-pool-float-used-in-the-floyd-8-promo-image-solved

I used mine in this image : Dottie is having a good laugh!

Colour aside, I have to say that looks more like an angry swan than a cuddly ducky. I did download it though. Thanks a lot for sharing! yes

@isidorn I am afraid you're right crying I am not good with texture as you can see.

BUT everyone is welcome to draw new adorable eyes and beak to it and even morph it wink.

Aww, no need to be sad xmasrose. You're far better than me, that don't even know where to start when it comes to making something myself. As a self appointed spokesperson for all rubber duckies, I just had to comment. And I do like that angry look. wink

Yours looks like a pampered ducky,  Xmasrose's is the adult who has experienced Life.

A link to this was posted by Richard Haseltine on another thread but I thought I'd share it here as many might not have seen it. It is a script that helps identify the source of products used in a scene. Seems to work best when you select the individual items in a scene (e.g., select hair- run script, select clothing item - run script, etc.). Not perfect as it doesn't always identity products but I tested it on some old scenes and it let me know quickly what was used.

    List Products Used script

Good lord. I just looked at that. What are you supposed to do with it? Where do you paste it, and how do you use it? Obviously you have studio open, but how do you access the script once you paste it wherever it goes?

If you look just above the actual code there's a link to download as a .dsa file. You can run it froma  content pane, if you add it to a content directory (e.g. /Scripts/Utility) or you can drag the file into DS from a standard file browser. You can also, if it's in a content diectory, right-click on it and Create Custom Action to add a link to the Scripts menu.

thank you so much @richardhaseltine   When seeing scripts, there are those of us whose eyes open so wide they eclipse our foreheads. Shortly before we pass out.

Heh, well remember that you are actually already using scripts (if you use the relevant commands) - Symmetry, Drop to Floor, and Bake to Transforms are all scripts under the hood I believe (or have been in the past).

Had fun shopping the past few days, I did have problems with the Stonemason code (don't forget that takes $20 off DOs if you get the required items from the Stonemason sale.) It only took off $6 instead of $20. That one expires the 16th IIRC. It gets a bit confusing to keep up with the banner codes, so just wanted to mention that one. I put in a support ticket so they should be aware that one may be glitching for folks.

I am glad I wait on new PC+ releases to use as New Releases, those come in handy in carts to qualify for the additional discounts in some sales. Don't forget about those!  For the sale today, I picked up a few characters to showcase for you from Belladzines so keep an eye out for Roula, Vale, Zeva, Aeryn, and Jaiyana. (Some or all, haven't decided. If there's one in particular you want to see, speak up!)  I think Aeryn is the most unique, so she will be first. Back later.

WOW the DIM downloads are flying along. Kicked off at (edit misread it!)  a high rate of speed and doing things in a blink of an eye!  Now would be a good time to DIM your products apparently. There's no lag! (I would think with the sales today, there would be.)

Yes but as you said- they're under the hood. Other mechanics already have them easily in place!  devil

As Richard said, I saved it as a .dsa in my script folder then open it in the Script IDE pane (you can open that via the Window/Panes (Tabs) from the main menu). Select an item in the Scene pane and click on the Execute button in the Script pane. The result will be shown in the gray box at the bottom.

If you saved that script in Scripts/Utilities and run it apart from the Script IDE, the results will appear in your log file. Found that out by accident! laugh

I wondered where you would find it as I tiried it as a Custom Action and didn't see any output

Going to point out one in the current sale which doesn't go on sale very often. The Chemistry Lab.  May 31st and it went to $24.47 (again, perhaps lower if there was a deal that would trigger an even lower price)  Today it's $17.48 at 50% and you can get it to 60% off at $13.98. A lot of nice props in that one, and features. Take a peek at the What's Included. Everything opens and closes, etc. You can even have a little kitchen island with a sink :)

I am so screwed… I didn't even see the promotion until I saw your post. Went looking, of course. There are 120 items on my wishlist in that sale! Including many things I really, really want!
