As for Gen4 here is the child character I created back in 2008 using V4, and Thorne/Sarsa's Tommi. The biggest challenge was getting a flat chest which was partially accomplished with a bit of the V4 male morph which was offset with the thin, young, hip, waist FBMs/PBMs as well as individual limb/body part scaling (by each axis independently).
Granted back then we had nothing like Autofit so had to manually adjust the shirt (Ms. Dee Anna J) to fit a flat chested physique. Shorts are JeanZ for V4, shoes from Teen Ashley Clothing and baseball cap was a freebie.
Unfortunately the settings were lost on a HDD which died a couple years ago.
Here’s a little work in progress that I’ve been fiddling with. It’s based on an actual proposed premise that Bigfoot/Sasquatch/The Yeti and other such creatures could actually be more evolved relatives of the giant ground sloths that still walked the Earth up until 4000. Given how apelike many modern sloths look, it's an interesting visual challenge. I’m still undecided as to whether I should give it a tail, as many modern sloths lack them, but if I do end up giving it one, it’s likely that RawArt’s TyRex will be the geograft donor. As the the final project will be covered with Look At My Hair fur except for the muzzle, the inner surfaces of the hands and the pads of the feet, I’ve got RawArt’s Apeworld Chimpanzee on there at the moment as a placeholder.
As to the morphs, it would have been easier to say what ISN’T on there. (I'm including them as screengrabs on a follow-up post, because that's just way too much notation, as my quick count shows that there are 186 of them at the moment, so it takes three jpegs just to cover the morphs.).

7. You must use a variety of morphs from different sources in the creation of your character.
Heh, this may take some getting used to after typically using only the DieTrying morphs with the occasional small adjustment. But I'm certainly looking forward to this contest.
Yeah, I'm hoping this gets people to think out of the box and experiment with different workflows. Personally I usually start with a full-body shape (or a blend of several), then add specific character morphs and Evolutions morphs, and supplement with morphs from other sets as necessary. But I've got one in the works (that I'll be sharing as a WIP in a couple of days or so) where I started out with a process that's similar to yours: just D5 plus DieTrying morphs. He already looks pretty close to the historical figure I'm aiming at--those DieTrying morphs are quite good.
Scott-Livingston's Lucy looks great. Did you consider using some poses that come with The Chimp from ContentParadise?
Thanks, Cecilia! No...actually I'd forgotten about that chimp. I might have used some poses from the Genesis Gorilla (not to mention adding the morph to my formula) but I don't own it yet.
Thanks for sharing them! I'm looking forward to trying them out (I know this isn't their intended purpose, but I'm curious how they'll work on Freak 5).
I want to thank everyone who has participated so far. I'm really enjoying looking at all the images and interesting formulas.
For various reasons, I've decided not to comment on submitted entries until after the contest has closed. At that point (unless overwhelmed by a huge number of entries) my plan is to give some specific feedback (nothing "dreadful!" ) on each of the entries.
I will be providing some feedback on WIPs, particularly in response to direct questions. You'll have to bear with me though...I may not always respond right away. I'd prefer to comment after I've had the chance to examine the image carefully, and had some time to collect my thoughts.
I LOVE dialing up characters. I think it's my favorite part of the whole DS/Poser thing. Because I'm unable to use DS4, I appreciate the rules are allowing those of us using the older character to play too. (Even if I'm not sure if I'll actually enter anything in the long run.)
The V4 -- Nora -- was a challenge to myself to try making a character more on the realistic side, proportions-wise. I was going to use the SP4 morphs and Morphs++, but then I decided it would be even more of a challenge to use only Morphs++:
And one more, though this one is still a work-in-progress. Started her last night. Aine uses Morphia and Morphs++.
I bought all those morph sets, including almost all the CDI sets, and figured I should do something with them. Also, I finally got around to using the DAZ Gargoyle, that weird tree branch hair I bought just...because, and all those elf/fairy outfits I keep buying and then don't use. :)
Edited to add that the texture is an old V3 one by samil, converted to V4.
^She's gorgeous. Did you actually get her mouth to form that way on the model itself (closed on the sides, lip definition only in the middle), or is that in the texture?

Thanks!
It's a little of both, but mostly the texture. With a plainer one, the effect isn't as pronounced. For example, the first test render I did of her:
Looks good! I like the default D3 shape a lot, but it definitely lacks detail compared to the Michaels or to D5. You've done a good job creating a stronger-looking version of David, without turning him into a Michael or Freak clone. Looking forward to seeing him textured.
I like your alien character too...to me he looks like a unique version of the standard "little green men" variety of sci-fi alien. So that one is based on M4, not Genesis? I think Genesis Creature Creator morphs could be used to make a similar character.
Impressive work! I guess we share an interest in extinct creatures... I recognized it as a ground sloth right away (though without the large tail, I think it also bears somewhat of a resemblance to Moropus). I was pondering recently (while working on Lucy) what other real-world animals might be achievable with Genesis... Other apes and monkeys wouldn't be too difficult, I guess...but what about a bat? Or a frog? Gotta admit, the idea of a ground sloth never crossed my mind!
I guess if you want to explore the concept that a Sasquatch-like creature might be a descendant of a ground sloth (I hadn't heard that hypothesis before), you should probably keep the tail short (if present at all) because as far as I know, bigfoot reports never mention a tail...on the other hand, real ground sloths had them and I don't know why it would have evolved away, unless their lifestyle/feeding habits changed significantly. Either way I'm looking forward to seeing where you go with this.

Hmm, there are feline and canine heads in Genesis Essentials. I also saw some turtle and mouse parts. Adam Thwaites has a panther, which looks like a more elegant version of Medhue's Lycan.
By the way, can we post more than a single entry please? I got very interested in creating custom characters and your feedback would prove invaluable.

Feline and Canine heads in Genesis Essentials? I haven't found any of that in the Essentials I got with studio... where did you get yours from? *curious*
They aren't in essentials, that was a mistake. They are in 'Creature Creator Heads' which is part of the Creature Creator Bundle.
Ah, thanks Gedd. That explains why I couldnt' find them *smiles* putting that bundle onto my wishlist now :)
