Gawd, don't ask me how I knew this, but Country Kitchen has a fridge that opens. With shaders, it may be okay for you. It's fairly plain though.

Edit: Store is working fine for me. That's curious.

@luci45   Just saw on another thread that you had a birthday on the 27th. Happy Birthday!

Working through my purchases from today. Let's get a character and hair out of the way, and show you an outfit.

Gail for Genesis 8 Female       Cady Hair for Genesis 3 and 8 Female(s)      Crop Jacket Outfit for Genesis 8 Female(s)     Crop Jacket Outfit Textures

Messy Bun Hair for Genesis 3 and 8 Females

The Cady Hair IMO doesn't have a good reddish brown color, so the hair base color should be 239 / 172 / 138  to get a reddish brown to match Gail's eyebrows or to get a good, rich reddish brown color. The Cady Hair has three different sections in each of the tails, which make it easy to twist and swing to add fullness and get movement.

As for Gail, I don't really care for the puckering at the outer edge of the lips, that's just personal preference and we do need a variety of character lips. She has nice teeth and takes expressions well.

The Crop Jacket Outfit has a bit higher waistline for the jeans, which I was happy to see. I've got way too many low slung pants.  The higher waisted ones work better with a variety of shirts, so the midriff isn't always showing.  Get the textures and have a variety of pants, including non-ripped, and there's a variety for the jacket. What I did in the second one- there are no dark blue pants except a ripped pair, so I took the blue jeans and just darkened them in Surfaces (base color.)

I say buy it all! March madness only comes once a year, and thats a nice looking cart- it needs a new home in your runtime. wink

    "You talkin' to me?"

I dropped a few items and dropped the price down by almost $25. There's always another sale, right?

I love Pascale hair and use it all the time...

My faulty memory kept telling me it was the Pascale Hair you were raving about when it came out, but I couldn't remember. I solved the problem by getting both. Almost didn't get anything… I was on the other computer refining my new Giuseppe/Ollie mix when I noticed the time. Yikes! Almost had to wait for another sale. lol

@ladair  sorry, I missed your post asking the question. I had two windows open and so was behind on the posts. Glad you got both, you'll like them. I've showcased both hairs and love the way they catch the light.

No problem, @Novica. I should have asked that question before I headed to bed "last night," (about 3am this morning, but if I haven't gone to be yet, it's "last night to me. Drives my husband crazy, even after 17 years…!) Anyway, leaving it to the final hours was my bad. I'm lucky anyone saw it, let alone responded.

I returned to this render and changed out the HDRI for one from a new set I bought. Iray HDRI Storms Lightning and Desert

LOL Sandy, is that an inkblot test? I see all kinds of letters in that. Right by the lightning is a "J" and to it's right and slightly above it is the "T."  The math symbol "Pie" is in the gaggle to the right above the "T."  (With a "V" below it.) Okay, enough. That lightning looks really good and I really like the dimmer streaks in the distance. Great silouette (can't believe I spelled that right, I guessed then looked it up!) of your character.

    @Novica

That says a lot about your mindset revolving around letters and symbols laugh

  • NovicaNovica Posts: 23,887

Well, I looked and couldn't see any animals. Normally I see all kinds of critters!

Does anyone else think today's MM sale is meh? Why buy 1-3 newly mads to get DOs when there were so many yesterday at 78% off? Granted they were in certain stores, but as I showed in my screenshots on the previous page, there were easily hundreds of dollars of DO's (and other items.)  I couldn't believe I was taking 78% stuff out of my cart. Great savings, as I was using the 20% off gift card to buy the items. (Yeah, that's gone.)

Yes, but at the moment you are concentrating on facts and figures so that is what your brain is programmed to see at this time.

LOL actually I was watching NCIS New Orleans and it was a truck hijacking scene. So who knows? Maybe my mind just wanted to get away from violence, and letters are safe.

I don't particularly like that series mainly because of the terrible Southern Drawl of the young one which just seems so fake to my ears and makes my skin crawl, just like a very bad Scottish accent in some films does laughlaugh

Do you mean Lucas Black? (Plays Christopher LaSalle)

Lucas is from Alabama, and that's his natural accent; I've seen him on talk shows, and he really does talk like that. The writers capitalized on that, making his character also from Alabama. He's not trying to sound like he's from New Orleans.

Too funny! This is exactly why we don't watch it. Most of them just get the accent wrong somehow, and it's so annoying we can't handle it. They just should have made it with no accent and no one would have noticed.

Today I've rendered CB Thyme in her GF3 form. Her hair is the new PC+ Wild Wind Hair and Colors for Wild Wind. She is wearing Casual Summer for Genesis 3 Females. I've started experimenting with Shader Sets and on the top I used DG Iray Surface Builder - Cotton Demin Wool - Shaders and Merchant Resource. I've a lot to learn about shaders! I also tried to dforce the top.

I really like the Wild Wind hair. Lots of shaping sliders with this one.

Nice render. I've used those hdris on a lot of different types of images. They work well and add some mystery to this image.

Thanks @mollytabby.  Just did another texture for it.

Reminder for white outfits: you may want to go into Surfaces and do the Base Color as a light gray, so you get the details of the chest and folds. I did it on this one. This outfit has nice details- the dress, shoes, and bracelet are all numerically related. If you choose dress 1, choose the shoe texture and bracelet number 1.

Doing one or two more and will add it here. (I'm working out in the garage while it's cool, going to be lovely today, 75 degrees, but right now is 65 so taking advantage of the cooler temps. I'll run back in and check the render in about twenty minutes. Getting my exercise LOL)

I've added it to my wishlist. I'll also try to remember the 'light grey' tip as well. Thank you for showing us this dress - it's very versitile.

These renders make it look so much nicer than the store product promos (for the main product at least - the one for the textures is more striking) - I think I skipped right past that dress in the store when it arrived because it looks rather nondescript.

Just a heads up - the FBX Black Leather Jacket in today's new releases is not setup for use in Daz Studio! It is not rigged for Genesis characters and there are no Material files to apply. It is a file that you have to import, rig with transfer utility, and apply images to surfaces yourself. The promo renders aren't even done in Daz Studio. All this info is in the product listing on the store page, so they are not pulling the wool over anyone's eyes, but you'd better read it and know what it is, before purchasing. When Daz Studio wasn't listed as compatible software, that caught my attention and made me read the rest of it. I didn't buy it. I would imagine a lot of returns on this one.

I did something I "don't" do for the  Summer One Piece for Genesis 8 Female(s). I bought the textures first, on sale, because I liked them so much. Then I waited for the dress to go on sale. Must have waited for months, but I finally got the dress a few months back. I love when vendors release clothing I'd wear myself. (Or that my younger self would have worn.) Those are usually an instant buy for me, if the funds are there..

@Novica, Thank you for the Karissa Hair render. laugh

@Mollytabby, that headshot of Thyme looks really great. Her eyes look like she's smiling, like she's got a secret and she's not telling! Well done.

I did see that, just because I was curious about FBX. Is this the first product like this?

I'm not sure. It is the first I noticed. It is the first from that vendor.

I think it's the first from a PA. Several weeks back Daz did a promo for items specifically for the Maya users. Here's a link to the store, filtering FBX-Maya as the software: FBX products.
