Ollie is starting to grow on me in small amounts. Unfortunately I don't have ANY other G8 males. Wait.... I have Jeroyn because he came G3/G8. And a couple general morph packages. Anyhow, I'm thinking I probably ought to come back to him later when I have other stuff to mix him with. The clothing items seem nice but it comes to about $46 with add-ons in my cart and I keep wondering what else will be showing up in the next few days I'd rather spend that on. But if I'm gonna get it now I should do it today before that Aiko 8 bonus vanishes.... ugh.
You can dial it down a bit with the Head Propogating Scale slider, IIRC…
@dreamfarmer Do you want me to see if I have Jeroyn and mix him with Ollie for you? I'm rendering at the moment (and wait till you see THIS one of Ollie coming up)
Sounds like you are having fun with Ollie.
@barbult LOL, yep, while doing laundry, dishes, etc (chore day) and letting these render. That way I really feel like I'm getting something DONE. Since laundry and dishes are literally a rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat that never shows a finished product! At least Ollie can get done and stay that way LOL.
I cant wait to try Ollie out. My DAZ Studio Install and Smart Content panes refuse to show my last three purchases. :(

....Huh. I also have the 200 Plus set and the Captivating morphs as well as the Rarestone ones. Funny to have so many morphs and no actual figures!
Basically, I was totally not attracted by Big Nose Gnome and Gollum and Del Toro Guy but Ollie's non-caricature big nose+soft eyes really _make_ a certain kind of character.
Good for you! They are pretty fast in customer service, if there's no huge glitches going on. Do you know now to manually install? You just download from Product Library. Be sure not to double nest (aka put Content under Content folder, etc) If Smart Content isn't working, use Content Library. (That's all I ever use so I am biased.)
@dreamfarmer Will be a bit, as the render is only at 86%. I put a somewhat-smile on Ollie and changed the camera view, using the same combination as before. He's got great teeth btw.
This is the first time in months a ticket has been resolved within 72 hours. I'm to the point of wondering why I only see 3 names in support, why I get article links to information about stuff that isn't even CLOSE to the reported issue, and why they tell me in yet another post that it will take up to 10 days to address my issue.
My DAZ Studio is not behaving in a multitude of ways. Emma has been working on it for over a month.
I need to figure out how to use my DAZ Content in Poser and how to make Superfly renders look realistic. ::to the tune of 'Off to see the Wizard:: I'm off to check with YouTube
It's funny how while I'd be getting almost all of the Ivan Pro pack (I decided! I only have the base and the Konstantin fig) I'm so used to the 'get SOME kind of Pro pack free with G8 pro pack' that I don't even count it as the value. I should though. I like the fantasy clothes in Ollie, and Ivan is another 3 pieces of fantasy clothing and all together those outfits are probably worth the $46 even without the other stuff.
I'm usually all over good toonie characters but I'm passing on Ollie because I have Billy which is quite similar. I have to admit, I've been hoping for a handsome stylized male, and I thought Ollie would be it. Oh well, there will be others.
Ollie does seem to mix better (with other characters) than Billy, though. So perhaps I'll get him in the future. I'm enjoying seeing the mixes. Would love to see how small his nose can get, lol And yes, I know that is part of his "character."
Really like the skin materials. Eyebrows are thick enough and not overwhelming. This is Ollie with that combination last listed (see previous page.) Click to enlarge as this is coming out very dark, can't even see the beard details!

@agentunawares I really like the overall look. The firm jaw and thinner cheeks give them a nice "set" look about them, like determination.
@dreamfarmer Well, oops, I don't have Jeroyn. Figures the one that you have is one of the few I don't. Anyone else have Ollie and Jeroyn that can mix them up with a bit of Genesis 8 male for Dreamfarmer? Could be interesting.

Off the topic of Ollie for a moment… I use DIM to download and install products, and when I started it to download today's purchases, (yep, got Ollie,) I found every single genesis starter essentials listed in my product updates, all with a "package date" of today. I won't go into the boring details, but I have been working to clean up some things, and I'm wondering if this is for real, or just DIM protesting my excessive usage these past three days.
Is anyone else seeing this?
Yes, same here. All the same updates plus some product updates as well, e.g. Owen 8. We had powercuts last night and my Smart Content refused to load this morning. I put it down to my power cutting off, but now I'm wondering...

So I suppose I should download and install them. Bad timing, Daz. Really, really bad timing. I don't want to be downloading for hours, I want to play with my new toys!
I know, I don't have very fast broadband, so I'm planning on doing one at time. Doing it over mealtimes etc.
I grabbed Ollie yesterday, pulling forward my budget for next month. I know I shouldn't but hey, the discount was just so good! I added Atlas to the basket because of the possibilities of morphing a toon style character between them. This is my first attempt at morphing Ollie. I've was aiming for a caricature/ toon style.

Good heavens, all those starter essentials plus other things came to 3.1GB. Thirteen things to download. Since I use Roku, my internet package is very high, I have 999GB a month so I don't have to worry about my television/internet usage. (Roku uses the internet for your television. I use Playstation Vue to get 35 channels, and no, you do not have to have a Playstation.)
Anyway, that's a lot of starter essentials, the Genesis 3 and Genesis 8's!
One way is to create a temp "my library" directory, install there the new items with the DIM, categorize them and after copy all the files from Temp to your main "my library" directory and delete the filew from temp.
The reply with the links is not, as far as I know, human-generated but an auto-reply based on keywords that, for soem people, will resolve the isseu and allow them to close the ticket without having to go through to QA. I believe it appears before a human gets assigned.
Is it just that I've never noticed before, but are there now lots of new things in the Genesis 2 / 3 / 8 starter essentials? There appear to be lots of colour options for hair and in the Genesis 8 set, there seem to be quite a few underwear colour options. It also gave me a bit of start when I placed my mouse over the animation. My character started to dance around the screen, lol. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a directory tree on my machine for the Genesis 8 essentials, they are are all in one folder. Perhaps it will sort itself out when I next restart Daz Studio.
I asked about the duplicates in DIM and they said it was a bug (I had the 64 bit studio download showing!). So I would wait a bit before downloading stuff that is already in your library especially if its showing up as new.
