the workaround for getting a background image into Particle Illusion
Bravo!
well this looks cool
http://s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/launceston/atlas/index.html
to get textured FBX import into plugin called DAZ studio
I only fit 2 highrez ones though
sadly it won't load textured in Carrara from DAZ studio either
I suspect the surface names too long again
update
they are dds files so need batch conversion to jpg and an obj export with maps collected (for conversion) mtl file edited to reflect this
new Effekseer
https://effekseer.github.io/en/index.html
improved alpha which is what I found annoying with older version
also unlike Particle illusion you can load a backgound easily
"Effekseer is a free, open-source program. The effects can be exported as 2D animations or 3D effects."
True? Can creatte a 3D effect that we can import in DAZ?
well DAZ you would need TexAnim
Carrara just the png series
it creates image series and videos as is
unless someone writes a script to actually use it as a plugin which you could do as it is opensource
TexAnim isn't a bad idea ;)
Wow. Thanks Wendy! Looking!
~ probability already been remarked about _ Autodesk SketchBook
there is a new version out of Jeff Bezos's totally free toy for making games, pity it's such a massive download (40GB) my internet too flaky even if I had the drive space.
https://aws.amazon.com/lumberyard/
Next DAZ bridge will be for Lumberyard
No, thanks... We have enough bridges, let the devs work on bugs.
This looks promising. It's free until the end of the year. I couldn't get it work with Genesis figures though (maybe I'm doing it wrong) but it works great for their native characters.

Vertex painting and terrain editor looks interesting!
Vertex painting and terrain editor looks interesting!
indeed, even if the best free alternative remains this IMO (with a great feedback by developers too) :
https://unigine.com/get-unigine/
Free MoCaps (.fbx): https://actorcore.reallusion.com/free
free IES
https://lithonia.acuitybrands.com/resources/technical-downloads/photometricdownloads
Animaze the replacement for Facerig is free with watermark

warning awful Wendy chipmunk filter singing
yes you can add your renders as backgrounds
the free version of AXYZ Anima Lite FBX export imports animated to Carrara too,
5 people for 5 seconds but you can stretch the selected keyframes holding ctl for slow walkers
or break them up delete transform keys and use paths make an animation group and loop the NLA clip
lowpoly scene fillers, do several FBX exports of different people to make crowds
video
https://probabletrain.itch.io/city-generator
free browser based city generator, can do height maps or stl for 3D
https://www.si.edu/openaccess
lots of stuff CC0
never ever regretted for having bought carrara :)
This looks like a great resource, thanks Wendy!
the FBX of the Cooper Hewitt building loads in textured, I spent the last couple of hours in Gimp making transmaps for all the windows
and that surround in Vertex modeller in Ass room
sharing the maps if you want, when I have rendered it I will add the surround too
Of course I realised I should duplicate the fence and Posts after I rendered 900 frames
so added a replicated volumetric cloud and doing another 900
Using Octane so fairly speedy
Awesome! Thanks Again!!!
are there any tricks for pmd files?
it time to bury my dual core poser pc in the closet. not sure i converted all my pmd characters. any tricks to make 7unzip work on pmd?
Thanks
The only way I think is to disable pmd in the preferences section of poser and the re-save the figure as a regular cr2. But it's been a while since I used Poser. 7zip won't help at all
