How can we see that from a promo image? We don't know what kind of graphics card(s) the promo artist has, or whether the render was done in CPU, or how long it took. Just look at Jack Tomalin's promos. They look great. He has multiple 2080ti cards. Then try to render his product on your own computer with a less powerful set of hardware - ouch. That has been my experience, anyway.
I have the European Apartment and it is one of the best environments I have purchased, so I have great hope for the new one. But I don't see how looking a promo images will till me how it will perform for me.
Well, the flip side of that is that I'm wary of environments where promos are only rendered empty. I have a few sets that are utterly useless out of the box because of how heavy they are. I think it's a safe assumption that most PAs have an 8GB card - maybe 11GB (dual cards does not mean double the VRAM). I tend to think that it's because they couldn't without dropping to CPU. I do agree with you in that some notes about the renders (as far as VRAM usage) would be welcomed.

Barbult - Greg has been testing the room so he has an idea of my GPU which, is an 8GB 1070 btw. No dual rocketships here.
The last render I posted was done in about 20-30 mins at 2250x1500 then scaled down to 1500x1000 and sharpened in PS. The lighting is the default lighting included in the day time scene. The surfaces work well with the new Iray denoiser in Daz 4.11, so I've been relying on that to fly through some of the simpler renders.
I do care about things rendering well enough as much as I care about quality, so I do try to optimize and meet both desires somewhere in the middle.
As for the type of promos, there will be renders of the empty room and some props, but renders actually using the space is also needed for marketing, there's a reason they put famous faces on cologne or makeup, and not just a photo of the bottle or makeup colors on white background.
Some people will not purchase something unless a specific image strikes a chord and gives them ideas of what to do with it... plus, they're fun to do after all the work, I want to play too :)
And, some of the promos have some action in them, which shows what can be done with the props and morphs included, like bend the flame and smoke of the candles, which is a great plug for another promo -_-
Thanks for the extra info. You do great work.
Product is in the hands of QA now.
WOW!
It looks GREAT.
Can't wait to have it in my shoppin' cart.
That's great news. Won't be long now…
... And than we are still waiting here next year *teases*
It's almost through QA, had only some minor issues :)
It should not be long now you got the issues sorted out!
It's out!

It looks great too, it's in the cart waiting for my payment.. some time next week I hope lol
Into the cart it goes
Grabbed :D
I grabbed it today. It looks good! Unfortunately, I might have to wait until tomorrow to play with it.
Thank you so much to both of you! My render was so easy to set up and I love the camera angles you provided.
Mary
Glad you're liking it Mary, and thanks everybody for the support :)
Sooo next environment is getting there. I was splitting my time between this and the armors I have half done, but was too much of pain to switch back and forth.
First we'll finish this new enviro, then commit to finishing at least a few of the armors.
Anyway, it's a Medieval/Fantasy Inn. The doors to the rooms is the same as the medieval bedroom so you should be able to attach the bedroom to the Inn ...in some fashion.
Beyond that, there's a main area and a less lit area by the Inn's fireplace for shadier travelers trying to avoid attention, and barrels, lots of barrels.
Not all props are represented yet, especially smaller stuff that will add to the mood.
Space is made mostly from instanced pieces that in some cases will be cut to size later, so there might be some off poke through or details where they don't belong right now, but gives an idea of where things are going:
Oh my gosh.... give it to me. My inspiration is coming to live right now.... ideas are overwhelming my head at the moment I see this!!!
Looking good and my credit card's already started to protest
HOOOOOOLY! I was just searching around for some fantasy tavern-related items, but now I may just need to wait for this! AMAZING!
We're diligently working on it :)
This looks extremely cool already. It's going to be so much fun to follow the progress and see it with textures, etc. Best of luck!
Gathering party members now ;)
- Greg
Party you say? A medieval party with lots of alcohol and stuff? I could very possibly be persuaded to attend.
Of course! After all, the barkeep did mention a bunch of barrels - what would they be filled with other than ale?
- Greg
ETA: There will surely be lots of ridiculously large armor/weapons (as well as skimpwear) for some to bitch about, but at least nobody will be able to complain about the racial diversity lol. Think I'm going to need a bigger video card to render the entire party, though . . .
Already love (and need) it :D
Looks really good!
