My computer thinks it has malware so I am trying to run Malwarebytes but searched for Maleficent instead by mistake.
morning. There are rainbow lorikeets with red jackets and blue caps working away in our old pear tree as industrious as so many Santa's helpers and twice as loud :)
Hey great congratulations sounds like a gong but the ipad speakers are tinny so can't wait to hear it on good speakers. Soundcloud works great on the ipad :)
Is in a fancy enclosure wired for thunderbolt so bad luck, had to take it to bits but lucky it was the topmost drive so didn't take long. Broke drive would have had only about three months use (?) I guess, from experience with HDDs if they are gonna go they do mostly go early :)
Half a munchkin would be a tragedy
complaint: I forgot how to setup lights for Iray in Daz Studio. I think I use a sundial or something. I should watch SickleYield's tutorial at
I also found a tutorial by Indigo Janson

i been fussing with aoa adv ambient all evening. had to re read tutt
tried the faintest tint of cyan to un-orange g3m Eddie, but he's rendering purple.
room from medieval interior set cant hide a wall.
Blue is an orangey-cast killer, easy to see if you pull the red and green on the lightsource back by say 20%. I dunno I like to bake ambient into textures it seems more realistic somehow, mileage varies I guess :)
I need to go back to sleep soon. I got up to use the bathroom and now I am on the computer.
i dont remember it being this difficult. mebbe too over tired.
should do the stuff doesnt need too much thinking.
tackling the montespan sets next.
sometimes just putting a little mid to dark grey on a colour channel is enough to float a background over the line, is like turning down the volume compared to (say) a foreground :)
...nice and sinister.
Reminds me somewhat of the improvisation work I did when I still played pipe organ.
...really nice on the headphones I have.
...for outdoor scenes I usually rely on the Sun Dial Set (which is found in Library/Render Presets/Iray/...) which allows you to manually position the sun which is a lot simpler to use compared to dealing with all the Latitude-Longitude-Time settings.
Good morning. Where coffee?

Thank you, you're entirely too kind...
I owe you a beer!
Monday, oh Monday, how do I hate thee?
Complaint: the investors in our company have decided to stop funding us, so as of next Monday I'm unemployed again. Right before Christmas, too. Sucks.
Non-complaint is that I'll get paid for 40 hours this week, which with what is coming in tomorrow will last me into mid-January or later.
I'll start my job search next Monday, but it's the holiday season and I don't expect a lot until next month.
In the meantime, I'll be working on my music and art, so expect more forum posts and maybe even a render or two (lol)! I'm considering this as a two week vacation, as hectic as things here were it fels like I've been here a year.. I'll take the break.
I knew this could happen, the headhunter was straight up with me and told me they got funded every 3 months.. my luck just ran out this time. But I have great references and killer experience for my resume', so it's all good!
Good thing I bought all that cooking gear, it's home cooking for the forseeable future...
home cookin!
Yep! I love to cook, too!
My A1 Tabasco chicken wings can out killer good, hot but not too hot, the wings were HUGE, 3 wings and I was stuffed! And I have one bowl of beef stew left, and my fridge is full of ingredients.
It could be a LOT worse...
...ouch. Hang in there. At least you are not here in overpriced Portland where even a shoebox studio can run over 1,200$ a month or a room in a shared house, 500$+.
For me it is. Bills coming due, including mortgage, not nearly enough money to pay them. Don't know what to do.
Dana
...sounds like we're all in the same boat, bailing it out to keep it afloat.
I hate going downtown to get my bus pass but I have to do it.
Yeah, it could be far worse! I'll have a decent Christmas an New Years, it'll get dicey mid-January but I have faith in my star power and I expect to be employed in short order.. hopefully still in Austin..
Great excuse to sit around and drink beer, though!
...been getting more "Not Responding" errors when running 4.8 along with an increase in "white screens" where the entire viewport turns glaringly white for a minute or two while loading a scene, saving a scene, or sometimes even just changing an element within a scene.
While lading the railway station scene to perform a few minor adjustments an error message popped up about video drivers. I haven't made any changes to Daz since originally installing 4.8, so not sure why it would suddenly stary having an issue with the drivers.
