Hansmar, I used to do that too.  Nicely done dancing skels.  Good use of the room.

Horo, love the chess set.  Lighting is perfect for it.

Elvis, great use of lighting for this scene.  The birds look very good, as does the water.

Saurabh.gayali, the textures looks like real gold and silver.  Well done.

Horo, beautiful clouds.  The abstract looks like construction beams and I get vertigo just looking at it.

    NGartplay - thank you.

The terrain is from Environments - Inclement Weather with my own material complemented with one from High Resolution Terrains 4. Sky and ambient light by an HDRI from Environment - Inclement Weather and the key light by the sun.

Horo, great abstract with the structure synth object. And very wonderful terrain render. I like the high steep mountain.

    NGartplay, thanks very much.

Wow a magnificent high steep mountain Horo, nice lighting and materials

I found this Hdri saved in my library under Freebies, I decided to use it, in this simple render;   I don’t know where I got it from; the horse and dog are also freebies. Thanks NGartplay for posing the Alien for me.

Mermaid010, very well made city scene.

Two 'realistic' scenes. One from outer space with a space station from Bunyip02, a moon from David Brinnen, the Chrome Earth, a sky with HDRI and galaxy from Karl Garnham and a simple low poly astronaut from Free3D. Second one is more 'down to earth' with a man (Atticus for Gianni 6 (Genesis 2)) and cozy bed, both from DAZ, a terrain (basins) from David B and Horo, a self-made terrain as sea and a simple freebie fish from Free3D. The sky is a HDRI-containing sky from David and Horo.

The first one I will call "Floating" and the second on "How did I get here? or Maybe I should not have taken that last Whisky!"

Due to slow response of the website, the version of this item with renders follows below.

Next, I also made an abstract scene, using the 'phased hypertexture' technique created by David Brinnen. I first rendered a square version, then changed some  settings and made a panoramic render.

Hansmar - the two realistic scenes look quite realistic when I look out of the window and everything is covered in white snow.
    The two abstracts look cool.

Horo - Structure Synth made me dizzy looking down on it - fantastic render ! Terrain is superb !

    Mermaid - Wonderful render !

Hansmar - Nice snow scenes ! Awesome abstracts - first looks like a Spherical Alien !

    Thank you Bunyip02.

    Thanks Horo, Hansmar and Bunyip02

Hansmar - love the abstracts especially the panoramic view; regarding the other two renders for some reason i can't see them.

The 'realistic' scenes are back up now. They were there, but sometimes the forum does not do what I want it too.

Horo, Bunyip02, mermaid010, Thanks for the comments on the abstracts.

Hansmar - ah, now the snow melted and the great space scene is visible and the cool idea of a bed in the ocean as well. Perhaps a dream, in reality not a very good place to sit on the bed with a fish looking at you.

The terrain is from HRT-3 with an assembled material from HRT-1, HRT-2 and HRT-4 (HRT = High Resolution Terrains). The clouds are from the CloudSphere1 and the ambient light by the belonging SkySC1 HDRI from the Sky Toolbox.

Hansmar - now I see your fantastic ideas, well done, I don't envy the guy floating out to sea.

Horo - magnificent scene, the anaglyph is awesome.

Horo, love your 'volcano.'  Wonderfully done.

mermaid, very cool.  I like the figures that you have in the scene and see that you used the cute alien.

Hansmar, the bed scene looks like a terrible nightmare.  That would wake me up.  Great space scene.  The abstract is different from what you usually do.  Has an Anime look to it and I see a snowman in top hat in the second one.

Horo - Amazing Terrain - those cliffs look daunting !

Three terrains from HRT-3 with a material from HRT-1, the water is the ground plane with a material from HRT-4 (HRT = High Resolution Terrains. The clouds are from the CloudSphere6 and the ambient light by the belonging HDRI from the Sky Toolbox. The key light is by the sun. Three islands with the forms X, in the back S and C.

The terrain for the foreground is created with 'Metamorphosed', which I do not use very often, but here it works well, I think. The plants are a freebie by Daz3D, the lizard is also a freebie from Free3D. The plants are made of multiple 2D Faces. Maybe it's just me, but I think it is mostly a bit hard to get the colors correcly for these 2D faces. Usually they get too dark. Very appreciated, if someone has a suggestion to mitigate this behaviour.

Horo, mermaid010, NGartplay, Bunyip02, thank you all. I fear the astronaut did not have a lifeline (oops!) and I guess the guy on the bed might be the victim of a prank by his 'friends' while he was drunk.

Horo, Fantastic terrain render again. The mountains must be nice challenges for mountaineers. The islands can hardly be natural in such letter forms; created by long forgotten aliens, perhaps? Lovely skies by the way.

Electro-Elvis, Nice, rather barren, landscape with a dangerous animal and a gloomy atmosphere. I also never got those 2D plant faces to look nice enough and therefore I hardly ever use them, unless in a haze in the background.

Electro-Elvis - nicely done landscape. Getting 2D trees looking good is not easy, I think with what you came up is quite good considering also the light and the sky.

Hansmar - thank you. Yes, the S, C and X islands do not look particularly natural, but then, who controls nature? blush

  • mermaid010mermaid010 Posts: 5,581

A beautiful Islands scene, Horo, nice lighting.

Nice scene, Electro-Elvis, the lizard is a nice addition; I use 2D in my renders and normally play with the Specular and Ambience settings to get something acceptable, trial and error.

I recently bought the Stylised Rendering, and did a quick render using one of the materials. I’ll watch the videos and play with this product over the weekend. It looks like it's a very different and interesting product.

mermaid - very cool object and very nicely presented. Yes, Stylised Rendering is quite a different set but interesting; when we made it there were no possibilities to render objects toon-like in Studio and now after a dozen years it has finally arrived.
