Looks like it was set in error, so it's being rectified now.

@Daz Jack Tomalin: Good to know and thanks for the information. It is indeed SL now, but poor CynderBlue...

It's a Daz Original.  CynderBlue already got paid for the character.

Ah, thanks for the information, so nobody was hurt, lol.

  • Alternatively, the cynical view would be that DAZ thought to try it on with something they weren't bothered about to test the water, and the overwhelmingly positive reaction persuaded the decision maker to remove it. Either way, the correct result occurred. Regards, Richard.

Interesting observation, it's reminiscent of the whole "encrypted assets" fiasco that Daz tried out a few years ago.

My product library states, she's "Standard License", bought her some 6 hours ago.

...interesting that this wasn't an issue with Reby Sky who is a real person.

Was before my time here, but maybe Reby Sky got paid for having her likeness being used? For some people having their images used in pictures, games and whatnots is free advertisement, and when they even get some money for it, they might be quite ready to agree on it.

Still, she's a cheap trigger for the discounts

Reby Sky was fully involved in the digital clone, and agreed in advance to the terms. the same was true for the older Anne Marie Goddard Digitial Clone for Victoria 3 (which did have some restrictions on its use).

The issue with the latest character seems to have been a simple case of clicking the wrong box when setting up the license types - I am sure Daz broadly expects Editorial Licenses to sell less well than full licenses, for a given product, but they offer a way to have products that would not otherwise be possible. Putting an Editorial License on something that didn't need it would almost certainly be counter-productive.

Here she is. She looks OK straight on, but I'm not fond of the way her lips pooch out in profile view (no expression applied in that render). If you want a very pale skin for G9, she has it. Her eye sclera seems very dark.

Thanks, @barbult. She's not worth the additional seconds added for Studio searching to load placemarkers for her morphs every time I load G9.

I'm having a missing files (lashes) problem.  Product page says G9 Starter Essentials is the only required product and that is installed (and reinstalled with no luck).  Anyone else getting that?

Nope, not getting that. I have those files.

edit: Looks like they were installed with the Starter Essentials Expansion

  • That is from https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-9-starter-essentials-expansion - apparently the Expansion in the requirements was missed. We will flag this up, but you may want to open a ticket.

Thanks, suspected it might be that.  Going to get that expansion anyway at some point so I'll just leave it at that.

To solve the issue of the missing file without spending a dime, simply copy Genesis9_Eyelashes01_C as Genesis9_Eyelashes03_C and Genesis9_Eyelashes01_NM as Genesis9_Eyelashes03_NM in your folder

    \Runtime\Textures\DAZ\Characters\Genesis9\Base\Eyelashes

That will get rid of the annoying load screen. The Character was only $4 enjoy.
