Minerva 9 looks like a mom, Freja and Vicky look like her daughters. I can live with that.
Well compare her with the Freja 8 she looks much natural and actually nordic. Freja 8 looked like a supermodel (face wise) kinda nordic too but i can't say it's how vikings warriors looked like. Only problem i have with the Freja 9 that model doesn't have comes with battle scars, war paint, tattoos etc, which is really bad imho. Maybe there is but yeah they are seperate products.. Freja 9 doesn't have that seriousness either, my final conclusion is Freja 8 is suited for a fantasy character while Freja 9 can make kinda good real life viking warrior.
I can honestly see some influence from Eivor Varinsdottir
And with Eivor, I can see some influence from Ragga Ragnars -
I think she's pretty. I definately want the long ship and long hall. The other stuff, I'd wait to see if I actually was going to need it specifically for a project before I buy it.
She looks like the female version of a little less tormented Torment 8.1.
A quick test (with some minor alterations). I really like the face and the skin, but this and HH's Belle will be the last 2 G9 charaters I'm buying untill that dreadful base is fixed or 9.1 comes along and repairs it.
The off center mast on the ship was the trigger for clearing the cart
Wow, I didn't even notice that, lol. Now I can't unsee it.
I opened the boat up first thing and tried to see if there was a morph to get rid of it, but couldn't find it. And if I was out in open water when a storm blew-up, I would not want that tent over me, because if you need to bring down the sail, that tent will get in the way, or trap water in the boat, or just help a wave flip you over.
The problem with anything ancient that was a textile or leather, is that there is precious little that survives to the modern age. As one website I was reading noted, what is found is generally the best items a person had, not everyday wear. I understand now why Sutton Hoo was such a great find. I actually lived down the street from it when I was stationed in East Anglia.
I was also disappointed at the clothing collection in her bundle. Whilst a historian could nit pick at the historical accuracy of the clothing in Ivar's bundle, I think the average viewer could believe that was the kind of thing viking men may have worn. However you would need to be very naive to think that a viking female would prance around in anything remotely close to what is in Freja's bundle. It is a shame they could not have even found one better outfit to include. Instead we got a bunch of similar looking, rather ridiculous items, with the inevitable high heels and thigh boots that are the stable of erotic fantasy.

Eh. Just let her raid Ivar's wardrobe. He might gripe, but I doubt he'll make an issue of it.
Here is a head mix of Freja and Ivar, with Victoria's body.
A few viking ships were actually preserved. It's known where the mast goes on them. It's a very weird model.
She's a big lass! HD pictured here with her default skin (eyebrows and eye textures swapped out). I was insterested in how her back deforms, so playing around with that at the moment
HH's ladies are a bit too extra for my personal taste, but this blend looks really good!
How are they getting that stretch of muscle across the back? I'm having trouble getting a simalar effect.
In the meantime, backs for Ivar HD and Freya HD Bulk, default materials, however I may have swaped Ivar's HD normal for the non-HD one because he wasn't as textured as Freya with whatever render setting I had without bumping something up.
No need to be an historian to see all the hollywood-ish aspects of both "Viking" bundles. Most of the stuff included is even wrong from a pure logical POV. The tent of the viking ship would be supposed to be made by a the sail put over the pulled down mast (yes, viking were able to lay the mast down to pass under bridges... or for using it as the base for a tent when harbouring) so even the hole through which the mast sticks through in the model is... well, think of your own word describing it. In the long house many things are really nice, but the chandeliers can't be pulled down to light or douse the candles. And they probably have to come from a plundered castle anyway...
I also not a fan of that high heels and those thigh boots at all, not historically accurate ofc if we speaking of realism. As you said, all these characters for fantasy anyway so they mostly get used for fantasy whatsoever.
I was just looking into the base figure, but the $41.99 (sale price), was incentive enough for me not put this figure in my cart in the first place. That's ridiculous.
Again, the pores bother me with 3D's supposed realism. Anyone wearing that much eye makeup and lipstick would surely use a base foundation especially if they had such pronounced pores. I never see people with pores like that in real life. At least not on women. Even with no makeup on, you can't see my pores in the mirror even when super close up. I just don't get 3D's obsession with pores! Is that Freja's skin? I don't see that on Belle. Just checking it seems to be. I think the skin is more suitable for males than females.
As a woman who doesn't wear a lot of make-up and no foundation, the pores look about right (i.e., what I see in the mirror in the morning) to me.
Same
I think a problem with adding fioundation might be that it would be harder to mix-and-match makeups, which for a lot of people appears to a major point.
Such a sweet render, loving it!!!
Not really. Foundation color is supposed to match your own skin color, just blur or cover up any imperfections. It would just be a smoothed out version without the extreme pore details. But I guess Freja as the intended character would not wear makeup or take good care of her skin. I made Freja 8 into a glamour model though because I liked her facial features (with a different body.) Freja 9's face could be used like that too, I think she's pretty enough and of course can be mixed with other morphs, but I often buy characters for their skin and her skin is unusable to me. Easy enough to fix in Photoshop or maybe even improved a bit by playing around with normals and bump maps but at this time not worth it for me to purchase at the current price. I guess some characters are meant to depict certain stereotypes and Freja 9 was never intended to be a glamour model. Mousso, Addy, P3D we need more from you!
Same
I've got orange peels skin and would kill for those tiny pores! I think the trend in recent years has been for thin/sheer foundations (instagram aside) that do slight colour correction but let more of the natural texture show through, which are also much easier to blend into the neck, thank god.
Thank you for the kind comment tsroemi. I was having trouble posing gen9 and since I'm mainly interested in romance covers atm when I saw My Everything Couple Poses I grabbed it. Really great set!
Yeah, there's no Belle in there, just Freja + Josie.
Using MelissaGT's settings this was a test of Freja 9 HD face on my MacBook Pro at 2 hours and not 90% converged.
What I don't know about is the marks just above her upper lip? Does anyone have an idea if it is from the model or what?
