I think she looks awesome, but I have so much viking stuff that I have never once used that I can't justify buying the mega bundle, and I'm not paying 30 bucks for the character by herself. I'll wait till she goes lower in price but I'll definitely pick her up at some point.
I can never have too much, haha. The armor is definitely fantasy (some more than others), but all of it looks nice and will be great for kitbashing.
Looks like someone who can actually perform fireman's carry and haul a machine gun around so I'm getting the character. I don't think I'll risk the entire bundle given how it's coming to with an armor from the same PA responsible for a single thing that made me return the entire Victoria 9 one.
Can you post some renders if you make any? I am also in a similar boat to bennie in that I have a bunch of Viking assets that I have not got round to using yet. Does look good tho and maybe the related discounts could make it worthwhile grabbing now - although I already have the Freja 8 bundle.
And is this not the hair you were looking for when the Ivar 9 bundle was released? Barselaj Hair
I will never catch up
never got Freya 8
will wishlist this hair though

Yeah, I was very salty that I kept seeing this hair, yet it was never available.
She looks great!
Where can I find that metallic golden wing bikini top?
Here is a comparison with some sss tweaks (click for bigger size) -
Here's another version...I added a second tweaked...I think I prefer the lighter on the far right, but of course it all depends on individual scene lighting as to what will look best (click for bigger version) -
Once again, Daz figures are always so red out of the box!
Hey Melissa, that looks good! Can you tell us what exactly you did for these results?
There you go, both with "Body Bulk" applied.
Here are the sss settings - just remember to bump translucency strength up to .95 (you can also tweak the translucency color slightly based on personal preference) -
Honestly, DAZ should offer your settings as a standard built-in alternative version for all their models!
Great, Thanks!
I opted for the Mega Bundle because I could get the price down to something I could live with and I want to support characters beyond the 18-20-somethings. Freja 9's face looks useful for "grown up" women rather than the usual younger faces we get. But her body looks alot softer than Freja 8. I was hoping for something closer to Freja 8 or Brigitte (by Krashwerks on rendo). It will be a while before I can get to rendering her so I'm looking forward to what people post using her stock shape.
On one hand she looks less like a ripped bodybuilder when compared to G8 Freja. On the other hand she looks more like someone doing actual fighting. People living in pre-modern times weren't removing body fat because not only they haven't had modern knowlege of dietetics but also it'd be a very bad idea if you expected other people frequently coming at you with sharp tools.
I think Freja looks fantastic, but I'm less interested in her bundle components than Ivar's (or than I was in Freja 8). I'm more interested in "realistic" clothing, even Hollywood-ized, than outright fantasy clothing.
Like the character. A couple of the outfits have usefu bits for kitbashing. But I will not ever consider high heels as appropriate for any kind of warrior. Particularly not one that intends to get on a ship. Particuarly not one that intends to get on a *wooden* ship.
I do like the shio. I also like the longhouse. But I think I'm going to be cherry-picking fron this one.
I found four Freja's - a Freja 9 Bulk, Freja 9 HD Bulk, Freja 9 HD, Freja 9. So I guess the 'Bulk' is the muscle-bound version of Freja?
I did buy the Mega Bundle, but after the lovely Victoria 9 bundle, this was a disappointment in the clothing department. I do prefer the realistic historical clothing to this fantasy that has little to do with the Vikings or what folks wore for the 300 years in the early Medieval period. Freja 8's clothing was more accurate. Though the one Sci-Fi outfit was okay, after I got rid of the scrap of cloth on the back. I ignored the heels.
Yet I do realize that there are people who render for other audiences, I just wish we could find a balance.
Considering the two ponytails that came with Ivar and Freja, I feel that they got switched around. Ivar's feels more female, and Freja's more male. But I still wonder at a hairstyle that gives an opponent a handle to grab his enemy and pull his head back and slice or hack at his throat.
@MelissaGT, thank you so much for the settings and advice. They make all the difference on the skin of these characters.

Here's my run of Freja and Ivar. Took the advice above and tweaked the sss.
Freja 9 HD out of the box shape and materials. The clothes and jewelry are kitbashed together from other items I own.
Yes she looks very nice indeed, from the shoulders up, but still with the G9 Gumby joints... sigh.
I don't see Gumby joints, but she needs some Chapstick.
MelissaGT's settings appear to provide lip relief. Her lips look dehydrated otb. I'd like to see her skin on Victoria to see if the nasolabial folds go away.
Victoria, Minerva, & Freja don't offer much variation in facial bone structure.
The clothes also stopped me from buying one of the bundles. What are high-heeled boots, sci-fi clothes and late medieval fantasy armour doing in a Viking bundle? The clothes in the Ivar 9 bundles weren't particularly authentic either, but more carefully made. For Freja 9, there is almost only the usual nonsense.
Freja 9 herself has an interesting face, but in profile the lips look a bit odd and - yes - dehydrated. The body is clearly too masculine, but that can be changed.
I'm still considering buying Freja 9. But AprilYSH's Eirgrid Hair immediately flew into my cart!
I bought only the character, no bundle.
