This is what it says on mine. i only once got up to 3 punches then immediately went back down to one. There is zero explanation as to why/how in the description.
The only difference I have seen between different people's offers is the max loyalty discount number. The offer seems to work the same way for everyone who has posted. It goes from 3 punches to 1 punch as soon as you miss a day of purchasing. Where does the ad describe that???? It says "Purchase daily to stack your Holiday Loyalty Discount". Nowhere does it say that you will lose punches once you earn them. Real punch cards get a hole in them for every punch. Those holes do not magically close back up after being punched. How can Daz not see that this sale makes no sense to customers?
Customers are asking for an explanation of how the punch card is supposed to work, but we can't get any explanation from Daz. We are just told to read the words, but we've been reading those same words for days, and they don't suddenly make any more sense today.
This is what mine says:
That sounds like a reason for a mutiny! Different rules for some of us? Starting to sound an awful lot like real life, now!
Dana
I suspect, with no evidence, that the max discount depends on how much money you spent during some specific period of time.
...OK new flash sale however clicking the link takes me to a blank store page with no items.
I get this page: https://www.daz3d.com/winter-fun-artists-deals
ETA: Uncheck the 'Only show +'block
...wonder why I don't. I tried it again and nothing. Where I am I only have less than 3 hours as Daz is in the next time zone one hour ahead.
I'm signed in so that shouldn't be the issue. Really annoyed as we can used our holiday sale punches on this and Stonemason is one of the PAs.
Because you have the 'Only Show +' block checked.
This is the offer I have, too. And I still don't understand it, having read it yet again.
Mine says this but it never goes to 20%. It goes back and forth from 10% to 35%. When I don't buy something for one day, it goes straight to 10%, never to 20%.
That is because since Daz is giving you 10% off the bat in this tier, when you purchase, it goes to 35%.
I still really don't understand how that works. They give a 10% off, we buy once over $2 and get two punches? Then don't buy one day and lose both punches? But shouldn't it be either having to buy two days in a row both over $2, get 2 punches. Then don't buy one day lose one punch? Or don't buy two days then lose two punches? This is very confusing. Or maybe I'm just stupid.
No, because you didn't purchase two to get 35%. I think of it as an incentive.
I don't think we are stupid. I think nobody has ever explained clearly how it is supposed to work and what the logic is behind that. Nobody has even answered the very specific questions we have asked.
So... it's purely about whether or not you purchased something the day before, and the 20% punch is just on the card for fun?
Otherwise I don't understand what you are saying.
If Daz didn't do the first 10%, you'd have to buy twice to get the 35%. You would have had this message explaining they filled in the first punch as a thank you.
The problem here might be, that nobody doing the answering here really does know the answer(s)? Or it works after the - what we germans call it - "Stille Post" (Silent Post... but not a literal translation) principle, where a tells something to B, B to C, C to D and so on, and on each progressing small parts of the communication get unwittingly changed a bit, so as the result the last communication has a total different meaning than the basic first one..
tldr: wouldn't it be nice if someone from marketing who is responsible for the punches would find the time to explain here in forum who the punches are supposed to work?
For the record, I too am thouroughly confused about how the punch card is supposed to work, although I'm not super invested anymore in figuring it out. I also have a "middle hole" (20%) that is seemingly there for nothing, it keeps jumping between the 1st hole (10%) and the 3rd hole (25%). If nothing else the communication re this sale could be better because the promo text does not explain why it's doing that.
There is literally no way to get 20% off. It's either 10% or 35%, this is what the mods seem not to understand. That middle punch seems to just be decor.
yeah this is weird not that I am spending anything but it was 35% for me yesterday and 10% today, that's a wild swing if you don't buy something everyday
I think you might be right. Whatever. Something on my wishlist is on sale today for a price I'm willing to pay, so i'll just buy that and not worry about punches. 10, 20, 30, who cares. It still doesn't make a lick of sense to me though.
At the risk of making things worse, I suspect they're reseting the punch count to zero if you skip a day and counting the gratis first punch twice but only if you made a purchase the day before. It's difficult to tell because, if I remember correctly, there was a problem getting the punch card display to update correctly in the beginning of this promotion.
So, let's say you bought stuff Monday through Wednesday and have the 3rd punch at the start of Thursday giving the maximum discount, whatever that is. Thursday there's nothing you want to buy so at the rollover to Friday the punch count is zero'd and then the gratis first punch (10%) is granted. If you buy something on Friday then you'll get another punch during the rollover to Saturday. Normal math would get you that 20% off middle punch. But not DAZ math. I suspect that during the rollover from Friday to Saturday, If you bought something on Friday then you have two bunches and it add the gratis first punch (again) and *bingo* 3 punches and max discount on Saturday.
Is that what people are seeing?
(note that I have no idea what's really going on. But after 35-years in "IT", while many things aggravate me, few things surprise me.)
(edited to fix a type and add a word)
So true. I was so invested until there wasn't anything good worth buying. Then I went from 35%, skipped 20%, to 10% just because I did not buy anything - for one day. It feels good to buy and it feels good to keep my money too.
I think you're right, and the whole system is completely bonkers. I stopped trying to keep up with the punches; I never much tried to begin with, but since the Black Friday sale worked out so nicely, I figured, why not give it a try again. But the punch card thingie makes no sense at all to me and is just plain annoying. I'm also kind of mad really, because we used to get our loyalty percantage off for the whole of the holiday sale, without having to buy stuff again and again just to keep it up. My % off used to be at least 25% usually. So now I actually only get 10% off if I don't buy like a mad thing every single day. Sorry, but the offers are just not there for me.
The one thing that makes this holiday sale a good thing for me are the truly lovely freebies that the PAs (not DAZ, mind you) are creating for us. The rest is - mostly annoyance, really.
Irrelevant - deleted.
So what is the purpose of the "20% off" if not a single customer of ever sees it?
To be fair, it is probably better this way, but it adds to the confusion and is annoying.
This does seem to be how it is working, and Daz did check the rules so I assume it is the intent (and it does say purchase daily, apaprently for everyone). So far I have purchased daily, so I haven't directly seen the missed day behaviour.
What aren't you understanding? It's been explained may times over how it works, so what's confusing you?
