    Oh, it was said lovingly and with care. It has its limitations, and so do I. ;) And yes, PC. My laptop died during the pandemic (after barely 3 years), and I decided that after a decade of having a laptop (dictated by traveling home a lot and living in apartments that had no space for desks) it was time to get back to PC where I could just fix/replace the faulty part. Back then, that RTX 2060 was advertised as state of the art, too, and suited my needs.

    ...and then, I discovered DAZ. xD

    I was hoping the Basic Depth Map Maker might offer a solution for the banding issue I've found with all the methods I currently know about, but an 8-bit gradient is still going to have it even if this makes full use of that range. The Iray canvasses method wastes too much of the 32-bit depth it theoretically possesses. I'll just keep working on depth map post, I guess.

    Thank you AprilYSH for the dForce Iden Beard for Genesis 9!  As it pertains to my real beard, just Cetaphil face wash or should I shampoo it?  What about conditioner?  I don't know any of the rules!  Perhaps Nick Offerman will chime in.

    The Iray atmosphere works OK for me, but my card is too slow for me to do enough tests to fine-tune the results. Postwork it will have to be.

    I hardly do this ever, but I can't be more enthousiastic about KOO Angus HD for Genesis 9 that we got at a deep discount yesterday and today. What a fantastic offer and character! If you haven't picked him up you are missing out!! Thanks Kooki99 and Daz!!

    Hum... I have the troll bundle in my cart but I'm thinking twice about buying it... the FREE shapes require 4 extra characters I'd have to buy to make them work... Plus there is no environment in the bundle... :(  I think I'll go to bed and decide in the morning.

    The shapes of the three extra orc characters can be added for free, if they are in the cart with the bundle. Probably not the skns, however.

    I like both the new Trolls and there isn't a lot of extra stuff in the bundle that I know I won't ever use. I probably won't use that silly armor that looks like a mech, and I don't know about the weapon pack. But the rest looks like a definite maybe.

    Yes the 3 characters are free... but I don't have the NEEDED characters to make them work.  There are 4 that are needed... Make sure you check to see if you have them.  Not liking the mech armor... wish it was an environment... and agree about the weapons pack...I think I'll pass on this set.  (empties cart)

    Is anyone having any luck getting things from the Advent Calendar???  I'm getting things I can't use because I don't have the item needed to make the gift work... :(  Here is my today... Can't use any of it.  :(  I havent' been able to use about half of the Calendar days.

    Me, too, my wishlist initially had nothing older than a few weeks, but in the first day or two of the Advent promo, I tracked down an assortment of G8 (not newer G8 with G8.1 or G9) DO items and IIRC every Advent freebie for me since then has come from that group. I am strictly guessing at the rules of the Advent game, YMMV ...

    I think those items also have to be Daz Originals. So far, I think almost all the items in my calendar were on my wishlist (but it's extensive, over 2k), and I think all were Daz Originals too. The few that I couldn't use were textures for outfits I also have wishlisted but have not bought yet (I don't think the calendar would be able to distinguish whether you have the original item yet or not).

    I haven't been keeping a strict record but so far and for me, the items were all on my wishlist and DOs (with one non-wishlist exception that I took off my WL recently), and the freebies had original/base price around $16 while the $2.99 items had it higher (today it's a $24 for $2.99).

    My guess is that when possible, the calendar is based on wishlisted DO's, so perhaps it gets wonkier with people having smaller wishlist with non-DO's dominant or Gen9 that likely doesn't qualify?

    nothing in the calendar has been for an item in my wishlist. Everything is totally unrelated and old old stuff, as far as free items. The other 2.99 products, other than today, are products i just dont need. The bamboo set from predatron is somewhat useful to me.
