I did my best to make a 3D model of my old favorite car. I called it the “Torinosaurus Rex”.

I found two free models of the 1972 Gran Torino Sport and merged the interior of one with the exterior of the other. I think one of the models was from GTA, and had no interior, but a superior exterior over the other model.

I did some Google image searches to find and identify the custom wheels I had. They were Western Wheel Turbine Bullets. I could not find any existing 3D model of that. So I made that myself using the on-line boolean modeling tool, TinkerCad. Boolean models are shitty, and it shows in close-ups. But I’m a low-skilled nubie. So that will have to do for now.

More Google searches to find images of the bumper stickers I had. “7 Seconds” is not the quarter mile time for the car, by the way. It’s a punk band from Reno. But I did enjoy the ambiguity of that sticker’s meaning. And I love me some Siouxsie and the Banshees music, which sounded phenomenal when I blasted “Dazzle” through those 15” woofers on the back deck. And yes, the license plate frame did say “PHALLIC SYMBOL” on it. Also note the little green rubber centipede between the speakers. By coincidence I already had a 3D model for that.

The paint is some shader that came with some other product I got from Daz. But it was too glossy. So I experimentally adjusted it to my liking. Note the square of matte around the emblem covering the trunk lock. I don’t know what causes that. I guess the image used for the emblem does not have a transparent background or something.

Ooo. Did you make it poseable so the headlights swivel with the steering?
