Is that the C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs\Belladona\ with the four characters?
Yes, and the other one that you mentioned:
C:\Users\Owner\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs\Belladona\Alice\
No Alice
Have you by any chance saved any characters as 'Assets"?
I do not think so, because, I do not know what that means. When I make a character, I save her as a scene (hence my Scene folders).
And there is no 'Data' folder under C:\Users\Owner\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\Scenes\ ?
Nothing that says data - I blurred the name of one folder because of an Adult Content type word.
Out of ideas for now, except... Speaking of Alice, here's an other one with 'Alice Body' and 'Alice Head'

Try searching in Windows Explorer for "*Alice" (without the quotes, but with the asterix)
It's probably searching the index instead of the actual files... One of the things they have 'improved' over the years... I'll get back if I figure out something else in my sleep
Had a look at W10 on my work computer and this jumped out
Has not effected my working on the computer as I never use the default paths for saving anything.
The other possible reason for your Windows not finding stuff are the indexing options, but even on this computer, I have disabled Indexing completely, one reason being that searching was hit and miss with it on.
The fact that DS can still see 'Alice', is the proof that the files are still there, so your problem is getting Windows Explorer to find her
Didn't find instructions that I would use as I tend to strip down and disable everything I don't find usable, but here's one to try that isn't against the "Officially accepted" procedures;

If you do a regular search, you will not see the hidden files. You have to enable windows to look in the hidden folders.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
If the files/folders were hidden, i don't think DS would see them either - There was a thread in January/February where such behaviour was the only possible explanation for what was happening.
But worth a try anyways.
This is a hidden folder C:\Users\insur\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\dson\cache\data\Belladona\Alice
That location should not contain character morphs
It has a dress and shoe cache other than that they are not large files. I don't know what kind of info can be in the cache, that could cause a problem. but just to be safe I would delete them. I do believe that clothing contains morphs also. Maybe info from the cache loads certain unwanted morphs. Just guessing here cause I am still pretty new to the workings of DAZ as of yet.
Remove the last path (the Scene one) under DAZ Studio Formats in the Content Directory manager and stop using Connect.
The Male and Female caches contain the code portion of the installed morphs for the respective base figures (sans the morph deltas), DS reads this information when loading characters to build the morph dials and interdependencies between them.
If new morphs are installed or the existing morphs are changed, DS will rebuild the cache for that base figure before using the cache to build the dials etc.
The cache files are an attempt to reduce the loading time, but as the cache still contains all the code of all the morphs in readable format, it still needs to be compiled and the end result is not much faster than without it.
When loading a character or the base figure, DS doesn't care nor read any files related to clothing and/or other items.
Thanks for the explanation. I know what a cache is what it does but didn't know how DAZ used them. So they rebuild themselves you say? Is that a clue? To the problem.
The cache is just one more poorly implemented bad idea IMHO
I have morph data in my Female.cache.dsf that were uninstalled over a year ago, yet that file was updated last week and it's all still there.
So the dial settings are still in there as are all of the formulas for the rigging adjustments.
So what happens if you delete it and it rebuilds as PerttiA said would that get rid of the unwanted problem?
Close DS and check with the Task Manager that is not running anymore.
C:\Users\[Your login name]\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\dson\cache\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\
You will find "Female.cache.dsf" and "Female 8_1.cache.dsf" in there, delete both - Don't worry, DS will recreate them the next time you load a G8/G8.1 Female character.
somewhat on topic...
The best tool for findging anything on a windows PC is EVERYTHING from viodtools.com
It does not use the wndows search, it bypasses it and reads the HDD table instead. It takes about 30 seconds to read 1 million+ files across my 3 hard drives, the largest being a 4TB HDD instead of an SSD.
