mermaid - thank you. Two very nicely done panoramic abstracts, also those on pinterest.
adbc, NGartplay and hubert - thank you.
Thanks Adbc, Hurbert and Horo for the nice comments.
Those are fantastic mermaid!
Thanks NGartplay
A simple scene, an exercise in scaling; using materials from the presets and the LekRoof Hdri.
mermaid - this came out excellent.
mermaid : excellent realistic image.
futurama model from Sketchfab by Noah.Salgado added to a Bryce terrain.
adbc - great model and beautifully represented.
Thanks Horo and Adbc
Adbc - I agree with Horo beautiful scene, you sure know where to find awesome models
Horo, mermaid : thank you.
mermaid : I search days for free models which are very difficult to find these days, renderosity has lots of 2D and share cg, well.... not much as well. The one used in the render is an old one.
Adbc - Yes nice free models are difficult to find, I search for days too, even so you use some awesome ones in your renders. My problem is I sent up a scene and then start looking for models to complete it. Maybe I should find models first then set a scene around it. I wonder how you and the others work, it will be interesting to know.
Here's an Abstract, so much fun to do, more on my Pinterest Board.
mermaid : fantastic abstract, beautiful colours.
I'm afraid I do the same, starting a scene and then search for models, sometimes it works and sometimes the outcome is totally different from the initial idea, if it does not work, well : recycle bin and start over.
mermaid - beautiful abstract, looks a bit like big eyes.
Thanks Adbc and Horo
Mermaid:
- Great landscape with beautiful atmosphere. The sailing ship is a nice touch.
- A cool abstract image. It reminds me of insect eyes.

Over the years, I collected many free models on the Web. There exists also a great model collection in RayDreamStudio/Carrara (simple models but still useful).
How I start: Usually, I have an idea and then search for according models on my hard disks and online. If I cannot find the desired (free) models, then I think about different idea variants. (Although I have Cinema 4D, I am not a modeler. I lack the due skills, the practical experiences and especially the due motivation.)
In Bryce, I hardly work with complex scenes and too many (imported) models therein. -- The time and efforts to set it all up, the typical long render times, having to reworke parts in case of too obvious flaws (which cannot be easily fixed in postwork), etc etc. .. nope! Though I used many models (usually simplified or quickly created by myself in Bryce) in my *Woody* scenes, where "Realism(TM)" was not required.
Overall, I prefer doing "quick&dirty" abstract images with Bryce. :)
----------
adbc: Well put into scene. Great sky and water mat.
Such a gorgeous sky mermaid. That HDRI works very well here. Really like the mysterious abstract. It has a mechanical feel to it for me that is so interesting.
adbc, a fabulous render with that detailed building. Love all the wires and interest in it.
Horo - your Terrains are always perfect and really wonderful.
Mermaid - beautiful Terrain too. Light and Sky are perfect. And your Abstract Work are beautiful too.
adbc - Wow. Terrains, Sky and light works perfect together.
hubert, NGartplay, Yellow Pen : thank you.
Thank you Yellow Pen.
Terrain and applied material were self made, within the tunnel is a radial light. The fog patches are from Environment - Inclement Weather. Sky and ambient light by an HDRI from Sunless HDRI Skies and the key light by the sun.
Hubert – thanks for the comment and the input. Although I also love Abstracts; I like the challenge of setting up a scene. Unfortunately I can only make an object if I follow a tutorial and can only “afford” freebies. When setting up a scene I sometimes use one of David and Horo’s source file as a starting point. When I'm struggling with a scene I turn to Abstracts or Stills to kill the frustration and go back to that scene after a while or trash it.
NGartplay and Yellow Pen thanks
Horo – wow another outstanding landscape, love the tunnel with the lights, beautiful lighting and materials.
Horo : awesome landscape, the tunnel with the light is a very nice idea, great lighting, love the fog patches.
Thank you mermaid and adbc.
Two tori one above the other and the camera within the lower one, both with a material controlled by Reflection 0.02 with a negative Hyper Texture and full Transparency at Refraction 300. Light and colour by an HDRI from 3 High Resolution HDRI Set. Interestingly, both tori must be positive an grouped. Only one or none positive and not grouped results in a complete different geometry.
Wow Horo that's a fantastic result.
Horo, two great images. I especially like the tori image. The colors and effect near the bottom of the image are so cool.
Horo : fabulous effect on the "tori" render.
A funky shape with a mirror material and a background sphere.
Thank you mermaid and NGartplay.
adbc - thank you. That shape came out fine and the backdrop is beautiful.
Adbc beautiful shape against an awesome backdrop
Horo, mermaid : thank you. The funky shape is from Horo Funky shapes, forgot to mention that.
Excellent adbc. You've been doing some really great artwork.
A phage is a virus that attacks germs and and if the right one is used can heal from an illness from bacterium that are resistant to all medication. I tried to model a phage in Bryce, it is not completely correct, but was fun to create.
