Your content should be getting installed to "C:\Users\Public\Documents\My Daz 3D Library" so just point DS to that location if you don't want to move the folder and risk something messing up. Me personally I'm OCD so I would do the hassle and uninstall everything and reinstall to the proper location. I'm dumb like that. LOL

  • How do I tell Daz where to install to the proper location?

In Content Directory Manager, select the "Daz Studio Formats" and push the *Add" button, and in the File Exprorer that opens, locate "C:/Users/Public/Public Documents/My Daz 3d LIbrary"

  • Public Docuemnts is /Public/Documents/ - click in the address bar of your file browser and you will see it change.

But the OP has that path already specified as a content directory and still cannot access the content

  • I appreciate all your help guys. I couldn't have asked for such great responses, but I have Daz installed on my Desktop and it works fine there. I am just going to use that installation. Thanks again.

The Public Documents thing is just a bit of MicroSoft flakiness.  Depending on how and what program you use to view and OS settings ( the phase of the moon, whether Mercury is retrograde, etc) the Public Documents folder the Public part may not show.

How does that work for stuff that has been bought and downloaded from Third Party sites no matter how many times I copy and paste the items Daz Can't find them and all three of the My Library Locations are registered in the program.

The third party sites are Renderosity, Renderotica and RenderHub, the biggest problem is that there isn't a proper Directory structure to follow and short of taking a archive file of something that i bought here and extracting it and looking at it to see how things are suppost to be i've no idea how to correct the stuff coming from these sites.

BTW Daz is using the My Library directory in C:\users\my name\documents\Daz3d\Studio\my Library

    version of  Daz3d is 4.15.x

this where Daz is installing all content that i purchase from this site.(to the best of my knowledge)

Few Hours Later..... Guess I figured it out on my own.. turns out that Daz wants you to install third Party assets to the My Libaray folder that is in the main Daz3d install folder any other Daz3d related folders just don't work. (at least for me.
