This was a quick render before I leave for work, but the https://www.daz3d.com/hc-weekend-casual-suit-for-genesis-8-male jacket kinda works. Its not a tux, but its open, and fits well over the other two layers. Just need to fix the color a little.
Loving this. It's so sweet.
@chohole What a very dapper looking man- he looks ready to tackle the world! I got my Masters in Education waaaay back in 1978. Never had classmates that handsome
I have found a solution to the boyscout sock issue! There is a parameter dial I had not noticed under 'shoes' which gives you a morph to adjust your socks. Voila! Thicker socks and fewer holes.
If Serene can't make that jacket look good, then it's a lost cause. I looked at the promos and the first thing that hit me was the lapels and collar of the jacket - they look dreadful. Also, can that bottom button NOT be buttoned up at all? Is it a jacket with one closed button and one open button?? Weird. It's an absolutely dreadful looking suit, and I'm stunned it made it to the store. Has anyone dforced it? Maybe that'd make it drape better. Although sometimes I think that paying money for something that you then have to do something not really intended to it, to make it actually look GOOD, is a waste.
I'm curious about the bride dress. It doesn't seem to be dforce, so I'm wondering if it's one of those long dresses where you can't use any pose other than one where the figure is standing with her legs together, so you'd get that drape on the floor. No sitting, no walking, no "runaway bride" running out of the chapel, not even the groom leaning her back for a kiss.
Well, to be fair, while it would be desirable to be able to button the bottom suit button, according to all the rules of suit-wearing etiquette I've seen in recent years, you're never supposed to button it. So according to modern suit rules, it's properly built as far as the buttoning goes.
As far as the dress goes, according to the product information on the page, it has a startlingly long raft of morphs, including two sit morphs, so even though it looks like it should be constructed for dForce, it's been properly built not to be. (The clay render makes it look like an unusually long version of the MFD, so that actually makes a kind of sense.)
Man, I learn something every day. I Wasn't aware you don't button it, but this proves to be true. I think I prefer the tuxes with the single button though. Why have the supernumerary button anyway? It looks like you've eaten too much and can't button your tux. Not that I would know anything about that...Nope not me.
The good news about the boxy coat though is there are a number of coats already made that fit nicely over the whole enchilada.
I personally rather like the vest and pants and shoes and the bow tie. The lasts tux bow tie I bought always deformed when my character moved around. This one does not.
Boyd has always wanted a christmas wedding, and Owen does a good job of making that dream come true one year. Merry Christmas Boyd. =-)
Sweet picture!
( Did you notice that the new wedding cake comes with a seperate piece? )
I will have to play around with it. I do like the wedding props although different roses on the cake would be nice. And no chocolate cake? Sacrilige!
I had to photoshop Boyd and Owen's cake cutting piece from another cake slice in this image. And they don't have jackets in this scene either. There seems to be a very real need for Tuxedo jackets in Dazlandia!
In answer to the question asked earlier, you can dforce the tux, and pants and probably the rest of the groom outfit.
I'm not sure how to get around the buttons though. I'm not an expert at dforce, so I know I have to paint rigid nodes or something, I just don't know how.
The good news is the tux opens when you dforce it. So if you want it unbuttoned....Voila...
Is the issue with the buttons that they're not moving? It's hard to tell from the image.
If they're moving too much, maybe try reducing the dynamic strength (although I really think, if they're not separate rigid follow nodes, they'll need weight maps -- I haven't had a chance to do anything with the suit yet, so I don't know).
Actually, I'd suggest maybe reducing the dynamic strength of the jacket as a whole to something like .8, .7, somewhere around there. A jacket should move, yes, but it should be stiffer than that, unless it's unlined linen or some such, and you don't make tuxedos out of that.
I'm not really great with dforce. Most of my dforce is done for small things like boyds underwear thrown on the floor and stuff like that. Whenever I dforce bigger stuff, it usually isn't worth it... I do think this may work to slim the coats profile.... Unless it turns out like this....
Color and all its permeations is interesting to me. I do frequently have trouble making lighting that looks good for botht he guys.
Have you done an image attempting to depict a more complex emotion? The gallery is full of images depicting love, happiness, sadness, fear and anger, pain and lust. All relatively easy to do.. there are pose sets which make depicting these emotions grief, love, rage almost child’s play. Click and go.
So today’s render challenge is to try to depict something you don’t see often. Jealousy. Show me your character jealous. An unpleasant emotion but one that everyone feels from time to time....
A very intimate moment (and well done on Boyd's hair).
I've been working on combining different hairs for Boyd so he can have both long and a tied back hairstyle. I recolor them all with Oots iray Pair hair shaders strawberry blonde. The manbun is Colin hairstyle which is one of Boyd's original hairstyles. But I never cared for the hairline, so I've been changing the opacity of that and attaching the bun to different styles.
In this early depiction of Boyd, he is wearing this style. Hard to believe I did that in 3delight years ago. I still really like those old Xurge 3d outfits, but they don't look as good these days...
You almost need three people minimum to portray jealousy with context and it not be confused because different people outwardly behave very differently when they are jealous.
Here is a render I did regarding jealousy a week or so back although one doesn't usually think of defending one's sibling from a cheating boyfriend as jealousy I think it is, but from a slightly different altruistic perspective of a sibling who isn't looking at the cheater through rose-colored glasses.
Jealousy is a tough one to portray. You have to show the reason or 'stimulus for the emotion, and the character's reaction to it. For example, cute guy flirting with the boyfriend/girlfriend. The perfect sibling getting all the attention. Etc.
Its not an easy one to show- not like grief, romance or whatever.
So let’s see some illustrative jealousy. That’s the trick... the viewer should be able to look at the picture... and determine the emotion that is being portrayed.... much as they do when seeing grief, joy or love....I never said this is easy. I've tried for a while to make Boyd look jealous. And never came up with anything I've liked. =-)
A rather silly attempt from me.
Perfect! I had no trouble guessing what was going on. Cute guy walks past, other guy shoots an admiring glance, second guy, is jealous! Thats GREAT Thats illustration. I love it by the way! =-)
Heh. I'm glad it came across so well. Thank you. :)
This isn't a jealousy render. I will work on that next. I have an idea...
But I was working on attempting to autofit the regency outfit for G2M on Genesis 8 male. I had some success with most of it... The waistcoat for some reason... I did not. So I left it off. The necktie historical tie thingee... Cravat? I found easiest to autofit to G2M and make invisitble because it tended to distort. But I still like it.
I like the Regency clothing and have bought it but have not had any ideals on how to use it.

Yeah, clearly the strettside guy is jealous and you know he's going to say something.
My mom loves regency romance novels, and I grew up looking at the book covers, of the regency lords and ladies courting decorously. I bought it all too and never used it... I had trouble fitting it to genesis 2, as I recall I got pokethrough. Now I know a lot more tricks.
We may have to do a regency challenge closer to the holidays. Regency lords and ladies in winter time is sort of a classic.
My mom read those too. I read part of one in curiousity once. And they did have those sort of covers now that you mentioned it. She always preferred the romances from that historical persion, probably because the men (well at least the 'good guys') were more chivalrously portrayed as society was so formal and polite then. The women were more steadfastly insistant on a good man too in those novels.
A Regency Christmas challenge is good by me, I'll participate, but I need to buy those Old Time Christmas Toys 1st.
Okay this one might work, did it for a friend's birthday card years back. Doesn't beat Zombietaggerung one :-)
Hey, that's pretty good. =-) Jealousy is a difficult emotion to convey, so I'm not surprised many folks even try to tackle it. Keep 'em coming.
