I really like the whole composition in the image with the guy holding a crowbar behind the car. Well executed!
    Super!

Thanks for your kind words Novica. Yes, I'm pleasantly surprised by Reptilian who I confess I didn't much care for. However I do like the morph a lot so I will willingly eat crow in that regard. =-)

I did end up getting Reptilian, based on the stacking sale (I ended up at 15 punches due to the 25% off the $50 which stacked with the new releases' discounts) so I have those skins to use. Your renders were what stuck in my mind though. We're a bad (good) influence on each other- that's what friends are for, right? Now if you will pay my credit card....

Thanks! You won't be disappointed with Reptilian. =-)

Here I have converted the Catworld Jaguar Male. M4 from RawArt for genesis 2 male using Gen X. I modified some elements to suit my tastes with morphs. The tail had to come from creature creator female accessories, since I wasn't going to buy the male version just to get similar versions of the same parts. You can parent the tail to gen 2 male to get nice results autofit destroys the movement morphs.

One thing you can't do with the texture is use it on a more humanoid face. The nose precludes this, which I was hoping to do. But Photoshop might solve the problem, if I have time I'll check it out.

EDIT: Here also is the Panther from Wildcatz.

You have an interesting world with the cat and reptile people :) I actually like the nose the way it is, and your choice of backgrounds.

RawArt has been doing some great stuff lately. And no slight against the nose at all. It looks good.In fact, the model looks so nice I regret not getting the others when they are on sale. =-)

I just have to admit, I like aliens with spots. And there is a distinct lack of them. Was hoping to use the skin for other projects. =-)

Love your renders using Reptilian Serene... it definitely influenced my decision to go ahead and purchase the bundle. I was at a crossroads trying to decide, but after seeing how you used them I took the plunge. Seems everytime I puruse yours and Novica's threads my decision to not purchase goes right out the window...lol. Thanks for the awesome show of renders :)

Thanks Kharma. Yes, I agree with you about Reptilian. It was a gamble initially, because I didn't like the head or teeth at all. But the body morph, and skins made it a great purchase. =-) Glad you like the thread. =-)

With RawArt's birthday sale going on right now (Thank ye), I picked up the rest of the Catworld Gen 4 characters including Panther Guy. Obviously the challenge is to make the flattened hair look more like actual hair. I think I may have gotten closer with brushes. I'm not happy with the ground, but had I paid attention when I rendered I would've made it a rock or something different.

To get a really interesting look you can topaz filter and use layers at low percentages to make a more painterly effect on your catworld character. This is another gen 2 male conversion as I don't use m4 or v4 for anything but parts these days . The tail however is cat world regenesis

Here is some of the awesomeness that is Zev0's tongue control.... You can see you can go from normal to extreme.....

Yes. Finding a good tongue texture made me realize that I had to look around for tongue and teeth textures. I don't usually have characters open their mouths so wide or use the tongue in any meaningful way. =-)

The manga anime battlesuit outfit doesn't look half bad on gen 2 male, if you own the texture expansion. You will need to autofit for genesis 2 female, or there will be breasts in the suit. The texture expansion by Arien offers a closed cleavage look which looks better for men, I think.

It is always great to find an outfit designed for women that works well on male characters. =-)

Here I have begun experimenting with Light Dome pro. I decided to expand my previous render with some extra characters and some props. I like the layer effects you can achieve with this product, and it is quite easy.. Although the product is intended for exterior outdoor rendering, I found it worked pretty well indoors with shadows of the buildings turned off. I have added a few extra layers to my image- because I didn't like the flat quality of the skin in Light Dome pro lighting. Perhaps this would be better outdoors. Will try that soon.

Looks really good Serene! I have been messing around with light dome pro also. I would love to have a similar setup for doing indoor scenes if that was possible.

Thanks so much for both of your kind words. =-)

The lightdome pro seems to work okay indoors with shadows turned off on the buildings. I'm going to mess around with an outdoor scene to see the difference. I find doing a render with normal textures and lighting and adding it to the mix of light dome pro layers in photoshop helps me keep some details I may want and make the skin look less blown out. Will experiment more.

I have been exploring some of the M3 content available in DAZ's store. There are some great outfits, I really wish could be converted to genesis 2. These figures will look great for background scenes, and far less memory intense than Gen 2 figures. Why have a lot of detail when you aren't rendering close up?

Anyway, like the neat lines of these clothing sets and there are tons of fabric options in each set. They are the Concord Series by Gorodin.

Those do look good. I was browsing through the older stuff yesterday, normally don't spend time on it but I was surprised just how good some of the years-old outfits still look.

Nice tip about using generation 3 figures as scene-fillers.

The Concord packages are some of my all-time favourites. I used CrossDresser to convert the remapped M2 bodysuit for Hiro3 years ago, which now autofits nicely to Genesis and then to Genesis 2. I find the only real distortion is in the belt buckles, which only takes a monument to Photoshop out of the texture map.
Years later we still haven't seen as extensive a texture bundle as Gorodin's, though every time a new bodysut comes out I hope that someone will make something similar for it. I also wish Gorodin had released the Concord Merchant Marine and Researcher sets. He did release a free Manga texture in the forums, but I don't know it's available anywhere at the moment. Hmmm, if it was publicly posted in the DAZ forums, would that classify as something that could be re-posted?

Update: I guess his Manga Cops set (released for free in the forums) came out a little later, as it includes MATs for the V3/M3 MM body mapping, which means it works beautifully on V3, S3, H3, A3, F3 and D3 bodysuits, no remapping involved.
Thanks for tweaking my memory, that's another one I owe you!

Glad you enjoy. I have been working on some scenes with lots of sci-fi characters, and I don't want to use up all my system resources on characters no one can see up close.

I am hoping some V3 skins will go on sale at some point. I'd like to create a few female v3's to go with the guys. =-)

I agree the Concord series is incredible. Love the texture options. Would love to see something versatile like that for gen 2. Didn't know about the manga cop ones.... How cool is that?

I'm impressed with how little memory 3 gen 3 characters use. I could make a crowd or a walkway scene of them and not use up a lot of memory.

Okay in this render I've used M3, V3,as background characters, and also fussed around with some layers thanks to LightDome Pro to add some glowing effects. I like the way this outfit looks on Gen 2 male.

Great, great work but do you maybe have some utopian SF pictures? Like people going happy-go-lucky in clean, advanced futuristic society. For instance I like the " emotional atmosphere" for "GIS for Genesis Male" product but perhaps with street background, no aliens and perhaps not everybody in the same clothes, with driverless futuristic car passing by? Do you maybe have something like that?

I like it, it's a simple, one-style bodysuit similar in tone to the Nave set, a solid blue-grey centre panel with black-and-white, horizontal stripes running along the sides with a single logo/badge panel over the left breast (which I tend to remove).

I've contacted Gorodin and he's given permission to repost or share, as long as the original Readme's included, with the usual caveats for a creative commons license. I'll try and dig up the original package, but at the moment all I have is the MATs and textures. I'll start digging on the weekend.
