In my view you don't have any big problem with DS2 here;
I have DS3 32 bit installed on my x64 Windows and I have no problem. I don't have DS2 but it seems you had no problem making the program working
From the pic you posted I rather think your V4 has all it's Surface with opacity < 100 %. Check your Surfaces
If that is the case then you may have to change opacities and save the content to definitively solve the problem
The way Transparency/opacity data is handled may have changed between DS2 and newer contents.
The only thing I see in the requirements is that my processor is an i5-3337u at 1.80 GHz. It says in the requirements it should be an i7 something. I would think that an i5 processor should be good enough. Besides, Daz 4 seems to work fine except for not recognizing texture content. Daz 2 works on my old pc from 2007.
Intel's integrated graphics do not adhere to the official OpenGL standard and have never played nice with Studio. As for content not showing up in the Content Library tab like they did for you in DS version 2 I have to ask did you view with the DAZ and Poser format options or the Other option?
I've tried so many different things to get it to work that I'm not sure.... Where is that found? I'd like to try it even if for a 2nd or 100th time.
Thank you.
The way the content library in DS 4.x works when viewed in the Content Library tab has not changed since version 2, with one exception. In version 2 and early there was a bug that allowed radically altered Poser format libraries to be viewed in the Other Formats option of the Content Library tab, that bug has been squashed. That is the only explanation I can think of as to why content could be seen in version 2 but not the latest version.
I know that's not it because I've never altered any of the content.
I recently figured out how to get it show obj files that are in the folders but it won't show light sets, textures or poses.
I appreciate your help though. If you have any other ideas please let me know.
Thank you all for your advice.
There's definitely something wrong with your content folder setup if you are seeing .obj files and not seeing Poser-format files. Can you go to Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager in DS4, expand the DS-formats and Poser-formats, and post a screenshot?
Here it is.
Well darn, I can't get the link to work.
Can you attach it to your post? I can't see photobucket images.
Been there. Hope this helps... fixmypcmike
sometimes it takes some time for there servers to ketch up to what your doing. It's not just the image hosting sites that can have a link-Live from upload time delay. All three links worked fine from outside the local firewall here, quite some time after your post. ralph100100
Seeing as this computer is done with another horrid Spice Sim....
The paths in my computer don't look that different from yours. One 'Global one' (All Users), and a specific user name one. For each of the Daz root tree things.
What's the path to one of the items that isn't showing up?
Is there a folder named "Content" inside "My Library" or "My DAZ 3D Library"?
If your asking about the item that I have scratched over its just my name.
There is not a folder named "Content" inside "My Library" or "My DAZ 3D Library".

What's the full path, e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\Runtime\Libraries\Characters\whatever.cr2?
