@memcneil70   Oh Mary, I hope you feel better soon!  Yeah, bright anything is no fun with a migraine :(   Thanks for the info on Collective3d.
FYI although the site appearance has changed, I believe it was Cris who said the new software isn't involved yet.

So is this the new site look? If you just go to Shop and look at the main gallery, there's fushia "New" and the print is also different. That's just at a first glance. It's also got what figure it works with, and there's a little dohickey for environments, props, etc. E

The new looks appears much less professional than the "old" look. Looks amateurish.

I find the new design of the shop clumsy at best and a serious pain in the lowest part of one's back at the worst. Is the almost unnoticeable yellow Wishlist heart there to prevent us from seeing it and impulse buying the items?

I have to applaud the villainous mastermind behind the evil plan that is the new shop design. It is a prime example of cunning so low, that should it ever take a walk under the belly of lowliest crawling viper, it wouldn't be touching it with the top of its three foot tall hat.

    *claps slowly*

  • I'm curious, has anyone looked at the "new" store with a mobile device? Because it looks to me like these changes are intended to optimize the store page for smartphone screens, where you'd probably only be seeing one maybe two products tops at a time and so it is probably perfectly easy to see all those mouse fart sized icons.

Samsung Galaxy S8, I see 4 images per page, two rows and two columns.

I think there was a web design seminar run over lock down by a team of seven year old children as there seems to be a lot of sites I visit which have suddenly changed to the same child like appearance.

Look at the New Debut, the Gila Monster Truck. OH NO! That reminds me of those horrible promos from that other site that merged here, and they didn't fit well dimensionally.

Product Library now has this: (still no description. Do they think this is ALL we'll accept for a fix????!!!!) Adding a link to a readme????

It appears to be the new look and it's much more flattering for DAZ 3D than the older style which still had a 10 - 15 year old freebie HTML turnkey online store look template to it. Seems a smidgen faster too.

You know what I would really like? Is if DAZ 3D did their new page breaks for the store front on the main landing page by release day.

    That is:

page one is only current day (I'm not talking about those best selling, trending and other sections of products and banners on the top half of the page but the Debut New products released on the current day)

    page two: only yesterday

page three: only two days ago

and so on for every product.

Then they could add a feature where you can go to a day in the store in the past via the date:

    Example https://www.daz3d.com/shop/20101010

takes you to the Debut New products released on 2010 Oct 10.

Well, unfortunately President Trump and his wife both have the virus. Hope everyone who has it feels the best they possibly can.

They are in danger if they have the wrong genetics. They almost certainly don't though. Good luck to them and all others with illnesses.

Yeah best care to them, and everyone who were in contact with the White House staff since a week ago Thursday it seems.

One of the things I love about DAZ Studio is the preserved usability of many of the very old products. Sure, some may require a fresh coat of Iray shaders to make them shine as much as they deserve, but I really enjoy using these old, often half-forgotten items, even if I wish some got updated to Iray and new generations of figures while at it.

Do not shun all of the old products just because they are old. They are much more affordable, especially to PC+ members, and many of them can still hold their weight against the newest items. If you combine old and new items, nobody could guess that your render is basically a display of re-painted antiquities.laugh

One such ancient gem, with SKU 973 (yes, that is three digits only!) is the Droid by DAZ, and there is even the excellent Droid Poses pack by the PA Digiport available for it too. Yay! smiley There is a texture pack by DAZ for the Droid available too, but that specific product actually has little value for me, due to the dire need to replace the now quite outdated textures with Iray shaders.

Here is a scene I created with the Droid and a whole bunch of other old items mixed with some new ones:

    ***no human threat detected***

Gallery link with a list of products used in case anyone would be interested: https://www.daz3d.com/gallery/#images/1093637

I have to wholeheartedly thank the PA's 2 create HB and Dreamlight for the Steampunk Desert Junk product, as it became the most used base scene settings for my Steampunk scenes. Awesome work there.

Moshi The Kitten         VYK Marilyn (G8F)       dF Sterling's Nightwear Collection (Top Only)    dF Collection 04-Casual Outfit G8F  (leggings only)

Brocade Iray Shaders- Geometry                Surrounding Curls Hair (G3F/ G8F)              Hamptons Estate

Moshi could do with some metallic flakes added to the nose to give it a wet look. He is of course adorable, and has Scottish Fold cats' eyes. They really do look like cartoon cat eyes in reality! So Moshi isn't a cartoon cat IMO. (Google Scottish Fold kittens and you'll see what I mean.)  So far as posing, there are some included, and you can select the body parts in Scene and create your own. I like the sliders to move the eyes, and the sliders for the poses allow you to easily create other poses.

VYK Marilyn deserves a second look, if you didn't like the mouth upon first perusal. It is very fluid in posing and looks quite natural. One thing I do NOT like with Marilyn, and other gals, is when the vendor puts the eyemakeup and lips together. They need to be SEPARATE. I'd also like to see more natural looking colors (browns such as sandy, grays) and have those combinations instead of mixed with greens or purples. (This applies to all gals, I didn't check Marilyn's variety except for a few.)  Marilyn does have a light neutral lip color so you CAN go into Surfaces and create your own. I do really like the variety of eye colors.

In the Nightwear Collection, the default simulation settings just couldn't handle the pose. I did raise the kitten away from the pants, and also took the hand off. It was the legs together which posed the problem and frankly I am not messing with that right now. So I simply went with a legging. With the Brocade shaders, I just used one of the solid colors. You'll recall I already featured those, doing different patterns for you.

Hamptons Estate water looks really good, in daylight or evening lighting.

I love Moshi. That cat is so cute. However, I really wish the PA had included the folded ears to go with the big eyes. I know not all Scottish Fold cats actually have the folded ears, but they are so cute! I haven't purchased Moshi yet, so I haven't been able to check the five shape presets. Maybe one of those includes the folded ears…? Regardless, it would have been great to have the folded ears as a separate morph.

I watched the above video without sound, so I don't know what is said, if anything. But it really shows just how cute these cats are, and how close Moshi is to the breed.

ETA: I just checked out with Moshi and the Albert Mansion. Used my Oct PlatClub coupon on the mansion…

He's pretty close, but for me he hits the uncanny valley spot rather than the 'cute' spot.

Maybe with slightly smaller eyes. I'm going to make time to play with my new kitty.

If you haven't used the Abstract Style lights, give it a go with reflective surfaces such as window panes. You'll get some interesting colors.

Hmm, searching the forums, the price I found for the Aliens Vs Troopers Bundle when it was released and had deals, was around 58.00  Did any of you get it cheaper? It came with a deal to get more additional stuff free, but I already had most of those, so I didn't bother. With the Sixty-Mee code you can get this bundle now for 43.99 (aka 44.00) at 78% off. Kayo 8 is in this bundle, and I like the contents of this one better than her Pro Bundle.

I got Alien vs Troopers on 22 July for $58.95. The Freja Viking Maiden Bundle I got for $30.15. I couldn't bring myself to use the available PC+ items, and went with dForce Big Jacket Outfit for G8F which I missed yesterday and I loved the jacket coat.

Will someone check Galactic Hero Poses for Genesis 8 Male and see if you have it in DIM? It wasn't there when I went product by product to make the folders/get files in DIM, so I also did a DIM search and nothing came up. Seems it is totally missing. I did a forum search and don't see a thread on this (yeah, right. The forum search is a joke.)  It does list DIM as an install method.

I found it, I think. SO ANNOYING.     male superhero poses for Genesis 8 male  in DIM doesn't have a corresponding name in Product Library. I assume that's the product.

DId the vendor Ensary do that?

This is a ridiculous hierarchy. It should be in CLOTHES, just like all the other outfits.

    “People:Genesis 8 Female:4blueyes:Dragonette G8F”

Next gripe- it loads without materials.  You need to hold down Shift in Scene and select all the pieces, then over in Content Library click the option under materials which is the "all."   I've never had an outfit where the vendor made everyone load up the basic set of materials.

Novica, I ran into that when I first downloaded it. When I buy something, I put the downloaded .pdf into a folder by purchase date, then verify that everything downloads and works, or I can figure it out. That one had me going around in circles. I had to compare poses in DS to the images in the online promos. I then move it into folders by type of product.

No clue if Ensary did this, but considering that metadata is created by Daz, would the programming of DIM be DAZ also? The name does not seem to be duplicated in the store (active items), but wouldn't they have the actual name changed or adjusted if it was?

And it gets even better! In the Product Library, when you bring up the Galactic Hero Poses, it has manual file downloads under both names, for some reason. Two separate downloads for a pose set seems unlikely, really. Slightly different file sizes, too.

I just checked the Product Library page. There are two files you can download from that page: Male Superhero Poses for Genesis 8 Male and Galactic Hero Poses for Genesis 8 Male. They both start with "IM00071223-01". I imagine that would confuse DIM, and it's displaying the last one, alphabetically, rather than both. I know "Galactic Hero" isn't shown in DIM when I filter by galactic.

ETA: And I see vwrangler mentioned the two files in the library while I was still working on my post. lol

Well heavens, they need to get that garbage sorted out. Thanks for the input!

Here's what I'm looking at with the buy two new releases and get additional discounts. Limit is five. Don't know if I'm sticking with the two 3D Universe bundles or not. Their characters look very much the same. The FG Police Station may replace one of those, or the camper, or the Inn. (I have the COG one so don't really need another medieval inn.)   What are you guys looking at/ considering? Let's share our finds :)

     Everly for Genesis 8 Female

Everly for Genesis 8 Femalenew    This is the 85%  one for today

    $19.95     $2.91       85%

    • Lake Muirné

Lake Muirné       This looks impressive too!

      $25.95       $5.26       80%

These are the 1.99 items for PC+ members
