The focal length got changed to 85, normally I have it at 110. :( I always use the magnifying glass, so don't know what happened.
Well I did three renders, keeping them smallish to be fast. First two are default load, the third is Skin, VW Andrea 3 Face PB, all with the same a neutral light, IGPT Cameras, the first at 800mm/44mm, the second and third were 1200mm/65mm to look at her face closely. I have the required lashes so I think the automatically loaded. Her skin looks like someone with very fair skin. There is a blush option but it is noticeable. (I am not a big blush person.) The eye area almost looks like there was lightner put on around the skin, as if to hide blue or purple from blood underneath the skin. I never figured out the makeup to be honest. I love her as she is.
Mary
She loads with long lashes, in Scene it just says the typical Genesis 8 eyelashes. So perhaps those are optional? I checked and I don't have them, so this is what she looks like without them, for sure. :)
@memcneil70 But I see on yours, that blue/purple that looks like eyeshadow all below the brow. I want something natural looking, so she's a no-go for me. Thanks for rendering her, I can use the morphs but not the materials. I did go back to the post and put a correct camera render for the first one. For the makeup: apply the mask you want first (it will say below the thumbnail if it is eyeliner and shadow, just shadow, etc) then click the makeup. If you don't click the mask first, the entire face turns blue, green, etc. Interesting LOL.
Yeah, I think I had that full face effect, scared me. Applied skin again. Stayed away from it after that.
I feel sorry for the PAs who put so much work into a product, and then I will generally buy the character for the shape, skin, eyes, and lip colors, but rarely makeups or tattoos. Unless I find a need for something out of my zone. But I have been known to go into looking at a sale, determined not to buy another character, and see the package the artist put together, and it speaks to me. I throw all my good intentions to the wind.
@Fishtales beautiful render ! I am wondering about the long render time .. 7 hours? I have the same video card RTX 2060 Super and 32 Gigs Ram so just curious what products you used for such a long render .. the hair? lights? size of render?
I think it is the hair that did it and the fact I left it running as I was doing other things at the time so it kept going until it thought the image had been converged
This one only went
2020-06-05 21:38:29.357 Total Rendering Time: 1 hours 27 minutes 21.1 seconds
and no, I have no idea why other than I messed with shaders and lighting.

Don't make the same mistake I almost made- I read the promo and then started shopping, and almost forgot it's $15 of freebies in EACH category but then $30 in the last two. I really don't want any of the clothing, went for an outfit for Halloween (I always think of characters at a costume party) but then also realized two outfits had some great bandages for mummy leg wrappings OR for bandages themselves. If you're stuck on finding something, take a look at the chest bandages on the guy and the leg bandages on the gal. Free is free (if you meet the criteria.)
I actually like the outfits in the Pro Bundle so it's worth the price, plus the freebies. Not getting any of the characters. (Yeah, once I started looking through JUST my "A" list, I've got enough characters!)
It'll probably go back on sale again in a Summer PC+ Sale Catchup but Miranda's Ice Cream Parlor was PC+ for a Day at a $1.99 is a huge bargain. Even at 'normal' sale prices this product gets an A+. I would like an exterior to the set but that's OK since you can't use them both at the same time anyway.
For those that never grew up in Florida, or other beaches too I'm sure, you may of not ever even seen the No Shoes, No Shirt, No Service! signs that almost every business posts in their windows. I got a chuckle out of remembering those signs though. I'm sure they're still posted in almost every business window in Florida still.
^ love the girl in turquoise, she has attitude!
I’ve seen plenty of those in Washington, where basically only crazy people take their shirts off.
@nonesuch00 LOL yes there's still signs. Very fun render!
At Mom's senior retirement community, she is in the Specialized Care (the very last section, for those unable to care for themselves, aka 92 year old mom in wheelchair.)
Two weeks ago, the first CNA tested positive for the virus.
June 8, Monday- a resident tested positive after he was taken to hospital in bad shape. (Sudden onset.)
June 9, yesterday, two residents, who were roommates.
June 10, today, two more residents. Only half the batch of residents' tests came back today. Tomorrow the rest of the results will come in.
So five residents in three days. Here we go. They have been testing this entire time, every week, so it's not a result of more tests. Wish that were the case. Both staff and seniors.
All of these are in Mom's unit. Don't know which wings (hallways)
It is frustrating because this facility went above and beyond, they closed down to visitors almost a MONTH before anyone else and before the stupid governor mandated it. The staff is tested at the gate for their temperatures, and again at the door of Mom's facility. Couldn't be happier with their strict measures. The residents have not left their rooms since FEBRUARY. Now imagine that. These are dual occupancy rooms, like hospital rooms, with a curtain divider. February, March, April, May, June staying in that half of the room. Mom has a window and a bird feeder, bird bath and it stays quite busy. (The nurse buys her birdfeed and she reimburses. What a sweetheart.)
Just thought I'd keep you up to date, and I'll let you know tomorrow if any more come down with it. :(
DC or state? In Florida it's basically only beach bums or beer swillers. so not really crazy but definately rude to go sweating and dripping all over merchandise!
I will have to check here in Kentucky. I've not noticed them at WalMart and others businesses but I'm sure they must have that rule cause you know without it I'd see them all the time like that and don't.
The poses and expressions are from the Edie Pro Bundle. The Ollie & Edie bundles are my favorite bundles for comedic attitude poses & expressions. The guy is Brandon from Toon Dwayne 8 Pro Bundle and the girls are Betsy, Hazel & Judy from The Girl 8 Pro Bundle (actually I think they might all three of been add-ons to that character).
@Novica, I will keep your mother in my upper thoughts. I have been praying for her from the first.
Today I had a tele-health call, due to coming down really bad with flu-like symptoms, and had a Covid test this afternoon. Will know tomorrow.
@nonesuch00, add the California coast to your list that have those signs. Grew up with them. But I would add now, 'No Mask', as many places require them to enter an enclosed public space. Love the render, so much fun.

Want to share this article with you- I have been fighting a cough for about three days so wanted to look up the light therapies- red light in particular. Last year I ordered a RedRush 360 and it works really well for deep tissue penetration, aka soreness of muscles, arthritis. Well, turns out it is effective (in animals) for fibrosis, lung inflammation, and that respiratory disease prompted by Covid 19, and other studies I read last year show it penetrates well into human tissue as well. So I've been under my light twenty minutes a night and this is day three, and I am holding steady and perhaps a bit better. No cough medicine and I can talk without coughing now. I wish hospitals would use it, they should consider everything in their arsenal. Here's the article. The RedRush 360 is not cheap(in the $400's) but it lasts a LONG time and is good for arthritis, muscle soreness (use on my hip and ankles) and tissue bloodflow, etc. GO TO PARAGRAPH FOUR, then SIX. I used it on Mom's hands last year when her arthritis was bothering her.
The RedRush is in the perfect ranges, as mentioned in the article.
Red Light / Near Red Light from National Institute of Health
Novica, you are right, it is pretty expensive. I noticed the price seems to be going up also. So supply and demand is at work. Did it work for the arthritis? Even without the Covid issue, I would love to have a way to get my range of motion back in my fingers. I have trouble with the toothpaste tube cap some days, and don't talk to me about laundry bottle caps.
I have Insertional Achilles Tendonitis in both ankles and I feel the difference with that, and yes, the tissues are more flexible in my opinion in my hands with my fingers. I've used it a year. :) EDIT- It used to be a six week wait.
Well, it will have to wait. I have to buy a new microwave to replace the one I destroyed that belonged to my flatmate. Tripping, kicking a stand, and an electric cord pulling the microwave off said stand & down on the culprit, is not good for its function. And the one he would love is just like the one he had, and there are 37 people with it backordered now. 'Made in China'. (I rolled out of the way, but my right arm and hand got banged up.) Lovely multi-colored bruises now. I am a walking disaster zone.
@memcneil70 Well, the red light won't work on bruises so you're wise to wait LOL. Sorry you got hurt but glad you didn't trip and break an arm. This one's just for you, here's a cutie to cheer you up, Child Aniyah :)
Very nice.
@barbult Thanks :) I think she's adorable.
She is.
On the topic of getting a good looking breast area on a character with Growing Up, the best advice I've received is to NOT dial in a character's body. Just leave it base G8F body. Only dial the character's head.
Oh no! Now I have to add another female to my wishlist! I typically don't let that happen.
Thanks for the render.
You're not the only klutz in the group, Mary. I managed to drop the heavy lid of the barbecue/smoker on my wrist when smoking meats on Mother's Day. I saw the lid falling and yanked my arm out, just not quite fast enough. (I say I gave myself a rainbow wrist for Mother's Day.) Anyway, I use Cetaphil cream for most skin related issues, recommended by my dermatoligist, so I decided to use it on the wrist. I don't know if it helped or not, but the bruises did seem to heal faster. (Cream, not lotion, as it is absorbed by the skin. So says my dr.) I figured it couldn't hurt. If you happen to have some on hand, might be worth a try.
@ladair Well hope you're on the mend too!
I am off the computer for the evening. Everyone have a good night! (and stop getting injured!)
Prayers for you mom and the whole facility. This all breaks my heart the people in nursing homes, thier lifes are hard enough and they have to be confined, not able to see thier loved ones. I know its worth it but it still is terrible for them.
Great renders shes cute as a child!
