OMG! That's just gorgeous! Ticks every box, an instant buy, dunno how I missed seeing it yes

It was an instant buy for me as well, and such an absolutely gorgeous set with so many details that I can easily see overlooking the bidet... but I think that as a result of this and the preceding thread, I've been givng the bathroom fixtures a lot closer look than I might have in the past.

The only thing I can see that I think is a bit whacked is the kitchen sink, I'd hate to be trying to wash a pot in that in real life. And unusually, there's no dishwasher. A MASSIVE stove but. My peeps will just have to eat takeaways.

I've been trying to decide whether it's meant to be a period piece or simply a house that's built in a really remote area, and am kinda leaning towards the idea that it's both with the gas stove and the lack of fanciness in the otherwise very detailed refrigerator model pointing to "period piece".  Automatic dishwashers became available for home use in the mid-1920s, but they didn't become popular until the 1950s.  Either way, though, if you measure off the side of the cupboards under the counter in the middle and compare them to a the size of that sink diagonally in that one overhead shot, then that sink is actually wider than most modern sinks that are divided into two sections.

That was actually quite fascinating.  Thank you!

..I found it sort ironic as I had just opened up YouTube to check on some channels I subscribe to and it was on at the top of my suggested video page.

Makes me wonder now as I was on this thread earlier today.

I can assure here in Italy household toilets have seat and cover since decades as far as I can remember (and I'm 47).

Squat toilets may be found in public places because can be cleaned more easily using the mop (and good amount of disinfectant).

Lack of seat, also can may depend on

    a) being broken and patron unwilling to spend for a new one

    b) having fed up with "gentlemen" not being able to lift it when peeing

    c) bath designed by a DAZ content creator cheeky

I just had a look at that sink and it is whack in a total "WTF was the kitchen designer thinking there?" way. It is totally usable but looks to be thought up by someone with more interest in making a showpiece of their weekend retreat than of actually using that kitchen.

The year is young yet ;-)

For those that have https://www.daz3d.com/lorez-dogs, there is a prop for dog poop. City here has wild ideas that dog walkers are to pick up after their pets and deposit what they have picked up, in the toilet. Sans plastic bag of course.

Well, for those who really want to go there... :) there are also three "pooh props" (PA's spelling, not mine) in https://www.daz3d.com/dog-waste-station-and-props  (in Iray, no less) as well as a couple of freebies available.

gotta wonder (only briefly) if any of the props have a steam(ing) mat. :)

...could always use Jepe's Steamz or one Diviney's Smoke/Steam brushes,

Yeh, think I'll pass. There is no pun in that statement.

We'll let it go. No point in dumping all over someone for a little accident.

That one has a seat, just not a lid. laugh

  • Made some morphs for another toilet. This one is from the Modern House 2 props by Petipet.

So... nobody noticed that the tub was a bit... chunky? What I mean is, the vendor could have sprung for some subdivision on the curve of the rim; I hear that SubD levels are fairly cheap nowadays.

    I mean, seriously?

  • ^Might depend on how many polys are in the rest of the set - and whether or not the PA set it up to take sub-d within Studio (ie - make the base model a little lighter on polys but have control loops in the right places so the end user can apply sub-d and get a smoother shot for close-ups if needed). That way the end user has the benefit of a lighter model for background and can up the polys if rendered in foreground.

    ----

Advance warning - my next set (after the next 2 that are DOs) will have a toilet without a seat or a lid! (but I've got a good reason - it's sci-fi and the seat is molded into the toilet - it then retracts into a wall-space for cleaning and sanitizing).

Luckily I remembered to include a drain-hole for the shower and the sink.

This lovely set has a toilet with seat and lid and they open and the handle moves too.

Somehow I don't see the equivalent making it to the Daz store.

You people have no imagination... the tub drains through the legs and the "toilet seat" is an invisible force field... and one flushes by voice command... Bathroom visitor: "Toilet- Flush Poop" ... Toilet: "Calling The Pope".

    ROFLAFAO Oh sh!t

Another interesting concept is the toilet in https://www.daz3d.com/island-beach-resort--beach-pool-villa.

Have not yet seen such a construction in real life. The lid opens by x-rotating 90 degrees. but not at the supposed hinges, but in the MIDDLE of the seat... Might be an option for future toilets laugh

I was so in awe at the presence of a seat on a DAZ toilet I too overlooked the lack of TP cheeky

I initially misunderstood and thought you meant when trapped without TP

was thinking you would end up with awful scratches trying to wipe with a catdevil

then I remembered why I keep my rolls in a cupboard and the shredded mess if I forget

Actually, it stopped me buying it. It's not even wishlisted.

I really liked it, yeh I have plenty of bathrooms, but they are strangely compelling.

............. strangely compelling........... yes, I find myself drawn to at least one a few times a day.... can't figure it out...... alien mind control, perhaps.....
