Here my first attempt for this contest. Hope I didn't miss the topic too much. Kids often can celebrate things of their very own way, can't they? Title of my picture is "Helter-skelter into the snow'".

Dan - excellent entry. I do agree with Jamahoney. The colour of the roofs is a bit offensive and the lady looks as she might topple.

Electro-Elvis - funny, brings back memories. The snow dust is very convincing.

    ed3D - good start.

Dan: Very nice scene. I just find the yellow of the roofs a bit too bright compared to the remainder.

Electro-Elvis: Really fantastic scene. Love the flying snow.

ed3D: more questions than answers for the viewer here.

Mtnmen, thanks. You're winter reference took some searching for me; I was not so aware of Saturnalia (though I did hear of Bacchanalia). But the scene is great!

@ mtnmen: like a classic painting. Nice vegetation (and perfect to hide some strategic parts)

@ apoc: magical. Like the "sled" on the right. Fun detail. Tuna is a good alternarive for Rosebud.

    @ ed3D: looks like a hot winter

mtnmen - great render, like a classic painting.

apoc - very nicely done, the detail at right is a funny addition.

ed3D - winter doesn't mean it needs a lot of snow.

  • @Thanks everyone for your friendly comments.

mtnmen : original idea, well done scene.

    Apoc : just magic.

ed3D : a hot part of the world during the winter.

  • HansmarHansmar Posts: 2,927

    Apoc: Fantastic render!

ed3D: Aha, our winter period, but then holiday Down under.

Electro-Elvis: Cool concept and well executed. I was usually the guy in the background…

Apoc: Neat idea and nicely detailed image.

Many thanks for the comments on my last image. Weirdly the “snow” on the roof of the castle is pure white but turns yellow in ones periferal vision. Don’t know why. I tried all sorts of things to fix that but finally just went with the original texture. Also changed the camera angle and moved the figure a bit so that she (hopefully) looks less like she’s toppling over. As always thanks for the suggestions!

Oh - this one is the entry for the challenge.

Hahe, Elvis...and I love the hair-quiff that suggests movement in his head.

Mtnmen...reminds me years ago of myself as the Adonis that I obviously was cheeky

    Very original, Apoc...keep'em coming.

That's weird, Dan, re: the yellow peripheral thing, but the roof looks way natural now.

Dan: much better now, it is united in one atmosphere; very well done.

@ Dan Whiteside: the yellow roof was indeed distracting. Better now. Still like the grey palette. In Poser I would suggest to clothify the hip of the dress and run a simulation. Don't know if it's possible in DS. I'm still a DS beginner.

@ ed3D: the girl is still hot, but the pic is cold now.

The gift is much more colorful than a pot of gold. Hope there's spring inside.
