My first pull is killing me. I don't know why. Can't seem to do anything with it:

Stone Wall Textures (Content Paradise - discontinued)
Way of the Shinobi for Genesis
    S.F.C.S Sci-fi Construction Set
    Technopolis

Some great renders and great fun already:
MelanieL - I love the poses, so dramatic! Great cat!
Ken - Glad you are back. You were missed. I love the Indie one.
Totte - LOL, the little old ladies will take care of Johnny Purse-snatcher! Go Agnes!
KaribousBoutique - I second what Storypilot said! An awesome render - you do fit in with this crowd for sure! (not that there was any doubt.)

Unfortunately I don't get to play yet as I have somehow pissed off my computer and it's not talking to me at the moment. (Currently, it's at the shop being worked on - hopefully they'll figure out what's wrong with it. Probably they'll tell me to stop letting my cat walk on my keyboard.) So I am borrowing my husband's old computer which would have a complete meltdown if I tried to use it for 3D rendering. Oh well, at least I can enjoy everyone else's renders. :-)

Ken OBanion: Indiana Jones... Raiders of the Lost Ark would have been a whole different story with this guy involved! (I've missed your sense of humor)
Totte: Agnes... This is great! Never mess with the little old ladies!
MelanieL: Who Done It I love the cat sitting calmly in the middle of all that. And the woman on the ground - that looks downright painful!
Karibou'sBoutique: Remains of the Day Beautiful job on the render, weird and funny to see the skimpwear on the corpse. I like your style!
Sasje: Not All Creatures... Cute idea and nicely done!
Hawkonthewing: Visiting El Dorado I love the lighting effects and isn't it so true that everything's commercialized these days?

...enjoy. not about to go to go up against submissions done in apps like 3DS or C4D with my little old Daz Studio toy..

I learned my lesson the hard way.

Love the concept, but wish it was only open to Daz Studio, Carrara, Bryce and Poser instead of the Pro grade stuff. I'm not about to spend a lot of my time setting ups a scene only to have it trumped by software I will never be able to afford.

KK my friend I won my big one in the good old DS3A. It's not the Software that matters. It's the impact of the render done. Now please come Play. We need more players in the RRRR.

EDIT: I'll even Match you entry for entry if you do. And I swore off playing as a Sponsor.

Thanks Luci and emsim! I have a lot of fun with these, and it's nice to find a group that has a similar sense of humor.

I always feel bad coming in late with comments, but people have such great stuff, I'll try anyway!

Ken Obanion-I just love this, I actually know a couple grad students just like this. Nicely done!

Totte-LOL-FRAG, that is awesome! I love the screen effects, too.

MelanieL-The poses on this are great, and I like what you did with the shadows on that. Innocent cat is innocent.

Karibou'sBoutique-I wish I could come up with something the others haven't already said, but that shrunken head is really hysterical.

Sasje-The colors on this really are nice, and I am a sucker for charming dragons.

Luci45-I love the flying ninja delivery service idea, they ought to make a movie out of that!

My next draw: 94 Diner Food 2
    75 Crow's Watch
    467 Svana for Genesis
and I'll carry forward the Gemologica.

And Kyoto Kid, I hope you'll come play too. I'm really a newbie at this, so I'm not sure how much room I have to talk, but for me the whole fun of this is pushing myself to try things I normally wouldn't try, regardless of what tools I'm using. Just seeing all the creative ways people put the different elements together has taught me a lot. I just stumbled on this the last set of contests, and I thought I'd give it a try for fun. I actually found that the randomness has pushed me outside of the things I locked myself into. It might be something to think about.

...I'm just getting a bit burned out by spending a lot of time on a submission only to have it pale against someone who uses a high end application. They have their own forums, let them compete there.

    Danielle's talking Horse
    tag:luci45#2

Horse: "Hey, are you ready, Toots? Damn, I can't find the bridle. New bottle? Wow, almost gone...maybe you need to lay off the sauce."
Danielle: "I used to think I was the luckiest girl in the world to have a talking horse..."

    Used:
Dream Home: Pantry, Gallery & Wet Bar
    English Saddle Textures
    Colors for Wild Orchid Hair
    Way of the Shinobi

    Also used:
    Wine Me
Wine bottles from le Village Wine Store
Freebie Champange bottle (Rendo - Champagne Set)
V5 and for Gabriella for V5
    DAZ M Horse 2
    Book Shelf
Server from Dream Home Dining Room Furniture

Kyoto Kid, I do all my renders in DS4 with postwork in Photoshop. I have won a couple of these and placed in others. I think that most of the winners and placers (is that a word?) in RRRR contests use DS, Poser, Carrera or Bryce. This is one of the few contest where technical proficiency is not as important as content and "impact of the render," as Jaderail said.

Totte, your sample title in the Entries-Only thread reminded me of an old Texas joke:

Q: Why did the armadillo cross the road?

    A: Um..., it didn't.

And on that note, here's draw #2:

    1931 - Takeo for Hiro 5
    645 - Expansion Pack for V3 MFD
    750 - Future Light

And my Chained item, from Draw #1...
Hmm, Let's go with the 19th Century Suit for M3

This is liable to get weird. (Lord, I hope so!)

    And..., it did.

What is this strange fascination I have with vampires all of a sudden?

This one turned out to be a real beast! (Mostly because - hell, you know me; "nothing in moderation!") Characters were built in Poser 9, and the scene was assembled and rendered in DS 4.6, with a bit of post-work in GIMP. (Yeah, that damn alpha-channel reared up and bit me on the tuchus. Again!) And the render damn near brought DAZ Studio to its knees!

    Also Used:
    Street Mage for Genesis
    Onyx for Genesis Male (Boots)
Dryden (body shape for Hiro 5)
    Pure Hair Space
    V3 Hooded Cloak
    Black Rose for V3/SP3 MFD
    Kozaburo's Kyoko Hair MK3
    Mon Chevalier Hair
    Michael 4 (Repeatedly)
    Victoria 4 (Twice!)
    Space Dweller for M4
    Cosmic for Space Dweller
    Glyn Hair by AprilYSH
    M4 Tuxedo
    Frightfully Debonair
    Rock Star Hair
    Lynette's Dark Nights
    Diamond Hair
    David
    Edwardian Evening Suit for David
    Nosferatu
Laques Hair for David (a ShareCG freebie)
    Sensibility
    Lyda for Sensibility
    Andy Hair

    TAG: obanion#02

(Edited to correct a typo. Yep, Freddie Fat-Fingers strikes again!)

    Title: "I'm Just Sayin'...."

"Look, all I'm saying is that it's just a bit..., probabilistically anomalous..., for there to be so many people here dressed as vampires."

"Dude, could you at least try not being a statistician for one frickin' evening? Lighten up, man! It's Halloween! It's a costume party! By the way, what are those things on your neck?"

991 - Kaleidescope for Hero FX
2205 - Woodland Realm Playset One (Ooh, a Cyclorama texture! Crap!)
    1013 - L75 Jovenes Vol. 1

And the "Chain" selection from round 2:
    Expansion Pack for V3 MFD
(If you're thinking 'Hansel and Gretel on bad dope'..., so am I, actually!)

And on that note, I'm going to bed!

Thank you Melanie for the kind thought. No computer yet but I'm hoping to hear something soon.

    Thank you emsim.

Just explain to the cat (in your best Obiwan Kenobi voice): "This isn't the mouse you're looking for...."

Lol! Unfortunately, my Jedi mind tricks don't work on Scout (my cat).

I'm loving everyone's sense of humor here. I can't promise that I'll be able to keep up with commenting but I'm going to try.

Luci45#1: Flying Ninja Delivery Service - That turned out really cool! Hawkonthe wing was right - I could totally see this as a movie.
Sasje#2: Minor Maintenance... - I love the contrast between grungy garage and the bright happy little car.
Luci45#2: Danielle's Talking Horse - LOL! This is hilarious. Is that why they call them nags?
KenObanion#2: I'm Just Sayin'... - Another fun one! It may have been a pain to put together but it turned out really well.
KenObanion#3: Enticements Notwithstanding... - I wouldn't get into that coach either but nice job on the render. (I remember GH even though I didn't watch it. Seems like that was all anyone talked about at the time.)
Sasje#3: Intruders - Very cool! This looks like a scene from the type of movies that I like to watch, lol. Brutus looks like he'll use M4 as a punching bag anyway.
