    Love both renders @mollytabby

Thank you @Worlds_Edge smiley The PA's make such wonderful products and there aren't enough hours in the day to play with everything I've now got, lol.

Honestly, to this day i think my favorite Daz Toon is still Callie 6.
Even tough she does not come with Iray materials, she renders up nicely with just the Uber Base applied onto her material zones.

Here are a few renders that I did with her.

@JamesJAB your renders of Callie 6 are wonderful. I do have her but I've never tried to do any renders. I think I must have received her as a freebie with a later Pro Bundle.

@Mollytabby I love the render! :D I really like the kind of wistful expression she has - it makes you wonder what she's thinking.

Thank you so much for purchasing Altern8 for Girl 8 and Toons for Tika! I really appreciate the support! :D You guys allow me to keep doing what I love and I appreciate it more than you know! heart

There are very many different cartoon styles, as has already been discussed.  Here are a few I have tried.  (Carrara has a native toon render option)

@Diomede_Carrara I love the shadow play on the second one! Nice!!

The look on "Dear's" face in the last render says it all! lol It's difficult to create expressions that really tell a story with 3D figures, but you did a great job!

Thanks. RE: expression, the woman in images 2 and 3 is a custom figure so I had direct control of the mesh and facial rig for the expressions. Appreciate a nice word or two.  The most awesome expression in my three cartoons, IMHO, is the dog in images 1 and 3 - which was modeled by Stezza.

Speaking of expressions, I am just floored by the awesomeness of @JamesJAB's Callie 6 expressions.  Like MollyTabby, I am checking my content list.  I know I have Callie 6, but not sure what I have to go with the figure.

That dog is really cute and should make a cameo in all of your renders! lol :D

And I agree that @JamesJAB did a good job with Callie 6! He managed to make her look quite awestruck in the first two renders. :) Expressions on more stylized faces can be even more difficult, imo, than expressions on figures that are a bit more geared toward "realism".

Here's a silly one I did after Sakura 8 came out because they where giving Callie 6 out for free with her.

"Here's a little render of Callie trying to figure out how Sakura is a replacement for her."

@Divamakeup just keep on creating ... I love your products! smiley I can't always pick them up straight away (though I do try if I can) but I'm slowly working my way through the list.

@Diomede_Cararra those renders are brilliant. The storytelling is great and I'm in awe of all the work that has gone into the set of those images.

@JameJAB ... that image of Callie 'inspecting' Sakura is priceless!

She's very cute smiley I have Clove on my wishlist and I'm hoping to pick her up some time soon. I love the hair and the whole colour scheme you've used.

    Very nice, Worlds_Edge.

Thanks guys.  I really love Clove but it was the first time I mixed her with another character.  Caroline has a toony vibe as well, imo, but obviously not as strong.

This one is a work in progress.  I'm using Clove's skin on him but it is black at seams/fingertips etc.  I'll need to figure out how to fix that, maybe in photoshop.  I used toon larry eyebrows, but blurred them for the picture as they were a bit harsh in the render.  I need to change the color if I'm sticking with this hair, and probably blur a bit more.

  • I've been making some G8 and G3 based OC's but i was thinking about switching them from realistic looking to more anime/cartoon style.  What i'm afraid of though is making them not look like regular G8/G3 figures but just with bigger eyes.

Way back in 1954 when I first entered collage I found a card in the bookstore that fit the "beat-nik style very well. I never forgot it and couldn' resist reproducing it as my personal favorite. The original comment was "People Are No Damn Good". I suppose today just about any negative comment would fit.

after spending 40 minutes reading this thread an looking at all the great renders of cartoons  I thought i might add my contribution to the cartoon world here.

I too have a passion for cartoons and i love animating them. though i just use daz studio to animate them I still think they came out pretty cute

I have a whole lot more of these type animation on my YouTube  . But here are just a few of my cartoons to keep you entertained , created and rendered in daz studio film edited in Adobe premiere pro

Looks a bit like Nursoda's Hein, or one or other of his characters.
