Exclellent carrie58!
Otherwise, I could've sworn there were mittens included with a winter coat for the K4 Kids but I can't find the particular coat that had them now.
There are mittens but they aren't actually very good mittens, at least snow mitten but they are actually 'OK' V4 & M4 oven mittens although my oven mittens are shorter and not so easily cupped in the palm like those in the DAZ Store.:
And both are on sale for $2.50 each now:

Maybe this one : Winter fun
Argh. I must have caught this store in one of its periodic fits when I tried that search earlier. It didin't come up with those at all.
I really wish someone would rebuild those sets for G8. They're actually really good for kids' winter wear still today. Unfortunately, K4 is in one of those weird gaps -- you have to transfer them to original Genesis before you can then step them to a later generation.
Thanks. Yes, that's the one. I need to buy that. Those outfits are cute.
I was able to fit it to G3 (it seems I made a K4 autofit morph) but at the time (2017)didn't use the mittens :
You could send a PM to Esha.
I bought the old M4 mittens but they dform too much for my tastes, so I am returning them. I do think the free ones mentioned by carrie look realistic, and the flat oven mitt looks a lot like the ones I use.
It's a Daz Original. Updating it would need to be a Daz decision. Stuff directly for kids, we have been repeatedly told, doesn't sell enough to make it worthwhile, and winter stuff apparently only sells a little better, judging from how seldom it appears in the store. (A semi-decent winter coat for males didn't appear until G3, I think, after the set Predatron made for M4.) That's part of why, several years later, Daz hasn't made a child base since original Genesis and its Basic Child.
I may pick up that set and see if the RSSY M4/V4 converters can handle it, or if it can be upconverted without falling apart. It's cheap enough to try that sort of flyer on without feeling like I've wasted a huge amount of money. (Come to think of it, maybe the Predatron set for M4 will handle better with the RSSY converter than it does with autofit and other stuff; with a normal transfer, the coat in that set literally crumbles.)
I'm going to try to make mittens with Marvelous Designer. It sounds like a good challenge.
Ooh! I wish you good luck! =-)
Thanks! I sent you an email.
So, Next up is Krampus. Technically he is male so he fits the theme of this thread. For modesty's sake, even though he is a Barbie beastie, I have given him Gladiator shorts. This gave me the opportunity to also test out the new Snow Layer styles made by Deviney These are really interesting and different. https://www.daz3d.com/ron-s-real-snow-layer-styles
All you do is install the styles in your styles presets, create a new black layer over your image, and apply the style with white. Set the layer to Screen, and you get snow. Very cool and super useful. Check that out.
As far as Krampus goes. I love him. He is clearly getting ready to locate some naughty people and make sure they are good next year.
That looks great.
I like it! Bought him yesterday but haven't played much with him yet. Does he mix well with other G8 morphs? I'd like to make his face a wee bit less demonic without losing too much of the detail. Also wondering how to put fur on him like the Krampus in the book I just finished reading. And how well does he wear "regular" clothes? I'm guessing jeans might be a problem.
Here is Krampus at 50 percent. He wears pants Fine. The shoes are obviously a no go.
I just discovered some pants look better on him than others, which ones are those? I tried the Mega Wardrobe jeans and I like the way they work with his legs but they seem kinda distorted around the waistband. Not worried about shoes or boots, he's way too proud of his pretty hooves to bother with mortal footwear fashions.
That is Back 2 School outfit. I did note some of the pants did not play well with Krampus's thigh muscle HD.
And wishlisted. Might pick it up if I have enough pennies left. Btw, are you or anyone else seeing a missing file box asking for Users/xanta/Documents/Poser/DAZ/PC/Winter/Male/Content/Runtime/Textures/WinterDweller/SweaterN.jpg when attempting to put the iray materials on Winter Dweller Sweater? Because I am. The materials do seem to load ok after I tell Daz to quit looking for that but I've no idea why it's asking for stuff in directories I certainly don't have.
On the subject of Men's new releases here is LEVI for G8m. Levi has a really cool look to him, I like his eyes, which seem to sparkle, skin is nice too, and he includes a bodyhair and skin options including several skin tones. I couldn't find a character to load so it was neccessary to load G8M, apply the textures and morphs myself.
Overall, I like this character. Well worth the price.
I like what you did with Krampus at 50 percent. Still imposing!
Yes he certainly does. The mats add the deep lines on his face so I think you’d need to skin him differently if you don’t want the facial lines.
Owen and Boyd underwater. Owen's third lung makes underwater swimming much easier. I'm not sure why Boyd isn't wearing breathing gear though- except that he looks good without it.
nice scene
I purchased the medlab recently, and having no particular immeadiatly ideas, decided redo a scene. Boyd has rescued Owen from the forbidden Zone, and returned him to the ship for medical treatment. Boyd is quite upset with himself for allowing Owen to become hurt, and feels incompetant . He really isn't. No one could've done a better job.
I wanted to use the cryo/medical beds from medlab, but found the glass and the bar covering the top are one piece, so I couldn't recolor the glass to be more visible without removing the parts I wanted to keep. Yeah I could do two renders, but I opted to just leave it. The rest of the scene is a stonemason set, since he includes a lot of detail to the ground and walls.
Well, my 11 hour render of urban future crashed out. Bummer. Nothing in the temp folder either. I don't have much luck with that I'm afraid. We will try optimizer and see what happens.
It looks like it's using your CPU, but it says the texture memory is only 5.2gb? That weird. Are you using 4.12? I've read in the developer thread that alot of people are having CPU fallback and crashing issues with that version.
I am using 4.12 it is set to render cpu and card. It is a brand new computer. I usually set my renders up and go to work, and came home to them complete
People are complaining that trying to render image series in 4.12 seems to trigger the CPU fallback, since that version of DS doesn't seem to be clearing the GPU. Perhaps that's what happened here.
It doesn't have to be a series of images. 4.12 falls back to CPU pretty much for no reason at all.
4.12 is bad about this, in part because nVidia changed the way Iray works and now Optix is always on, and Optix takes a lot of VRAM on its own, it seems. If you have a card with RTX (the 20XX series -- 2060, 2070, 2080), you need to have Studio 4.12 to even try to use the graphics card -- as I understand it, people were reporting fallback with the RTX cards and Studio 4.11 because its version of Iray didn't know what RTX was.
The combination of the 440 series of nVidia drivers and Studio 4.12 is incredibly bad about CPU fallback. I made the mistake of upgrading from a 440 driver to the 441 driver issued in November, thinking that maybe it would help, and instead it got quite a lot worse. I used to be able to render a bare figure -- no hair or anything -- on the card, and now even that doesn't work. I've been trying to drop back to the 430 series, but there's a known issue that the earlier nVidia installer chokes on windows 10 1903 and 1909 and says that the version is incompatible. The only way to drop back is to do a clean uninstall of the driver and then have Windows find the extracted earlier version instead of using the installer ... allegedly. Haven't tried it myself yet, although I have all the bits and pieces to try it.
I will say that 4.12 hasn't crashed even once on me, but I think I don't have the combination of factors that leads to that issue.
My card is a Geforce RTX 2080 super It absolutely will not render Urban Future 7 without a crash.
I am sad, I hoped to enter the neon lights contest on Rendo, but, sadly it just crashes to desktop.
