Luxrender.. Anime Collectables.
Cooked this one to 500 S/p. Used some freebies like Paris hair and Redferns Mokoto hair morph, Sickleyield's Impractical and gloves, Slosh's leather and vinyl Lux shader and Akibabe's Mokoto V4 face morph.
Contains some firefly's but after 24hrs cooking time, I think I need my PC for other things.
Cosplay Gorillas
A Glass Sandwich..
Just trying to get a decent glass reflection in 3Delight by using two glass plane primitives between exterior/interior planes. I might try this using Luxrender.
Images from flikr, creative commons license by. Darren Harmon and Trey Ratcliff.
Interesting. BTW, in Luxrender, try using a thin box primitive instead of two planes, that might give better volume effects for the glass thickness.
LOL! Nice Gorillas! :)
Daz Studio 4.8 beta - Iray.
I've not posted here for a while, so sorry guys for the late response.
@Spottedkitty
Thanks, I thought of using Luxrender, maybe now I'll try it with Iray. :)
@MN-150374
Thanks, appreciated.
Just tried a quick-ish dabble with Iray, so I thought I'd post it here too.

Luxrender.
Just noticed that I hadn't updated Luxrender to the latest V1.4 which was released in February. Just thought I'd run a test scene for 10 minutes to see if their was any noticeable speed improvement. I didn't notice any, however the next release V1.5 looks like it will be faster on my AMD trinity chipset. Fingers crossed.
Sketchup8 --> Blender --> Daz Studio
Tried modeling with Sketchup and then exporting the OBJ, the conversion process makes a pigs ear of the mesh, with loads of tri-polys, overlapping faces, normals in the wrong direction and other things which makes cleaning up a pain. I've just discovered snapping in Blender, typical. It would have been handy to have discovered it sooner.
As I don't want to waste the work so far, I'll try to clean it up enough to get some renders out of it, though next time I think I'll start modelling from scratch in Blender, or import the Sketchup model and use it for reference only.
I'd like to see some Sketchup GUI options in Blender, as I like the easy open workflow that's possible in Sketchup, but not the mesh.
Anyway, back to messing about...
Eyes..
Just trying to add some detail and additional depth to G2F's Iris. This is a bit of a rollover project as I started making this for the Genesis1 eye, which has far less geometry with regards to the iris than Genesis 2. Even so G2's iris still ends as an open edge loop rather than a torus like edge at the pupil, hence this little experiment in creating an iris texture.
I'm still messing with this as want more depth and shadow on the iris, partly achieved with the added geometry and displacement maps.
I've not attempted a morph for the pupil though. Wonder if a PA has already produced 'eyes with a soul'.
Krita
Just heard this mentioned in a Blender Guru podcast. It looks like a really good 32 and 64bit open source paint program.
Now I've got a nice alternative to Gimp.

Just been looking at some Youtube videos on Krita and came upon this little Blender related gem on texturing.

I'll have to dust off the old bamboo pad now!
I just noticed this 3d scan service. I wonder if it's biometric data colection.

Blender. Modeling a school building.
I cancelled the Iray render after 12Hrs, using just cpu. Two light sources and the render just creeps along.
Star Wars...
Half way through putting the band together, I noticed a very similar picture online, so my scene was re-jigged and the audience added as an alpha.
Knocked up a quick back panel png which I tiled and put an emitter plane behind.
