    Yeah 60 items per page

I've been at this since before  Poser 1 came out (first 3d program was for DOS and you had to type the xyz for each vertice point no mouse support) and Daz was just Zygote and Renserosity wasn't Renderosity and didnt have a store

There used to be a thread titled You Know Your a DAZaholic when...

I had people trying to get me into it back then. I was one of the 7 original Elfwood artists - if you remember that site - and when 3D modelling came out there was a big debate over if it was real fantasy art or not. I wish I had started with it back then. I think it probably would have shifted my career from IT if I had.

The site sounds familiar and I certainly remeber the debate/argument/fight about 3d and if it was real art or not somtimes I expected the ole crt monitor to explode in response to some of the comments made

Interesting that of the 35 pages I own at 60 a page that if I sort by most popular the Decimator is now way up there at number 12. The Decimator is something only game makers and game artists would use for the most part.

Also I was wondering how many products I actually own because DIM was 3449 but a lot of those are dual & even tri-support packages, instead 35x60 = 2100 but I own a bit less because the last page is only about 1/2 full. A lot of those are essentials and freebies too but now way of figuring that out since I habitually delete my receipts.

Just realized that a great way to get a good visual idea of what you have in your content library is to just view the entire marketplace and set ATI's plugin to "Only Show Content I Own".

The problem with that is you may have any number of products that are no longer available. When I use that option, there are 5925 items, (50 pages, set to 120 per page.) But in the Product Library, I have 156 pages; the last page has only 6 items, so at 40 per page, that's 6206. Of course, the true count is somewhere in between.

  • nonesuch00nonesuch00 Posts: 18,131

In my Product library I counted 42 products per page with 56 pages. The 56th page probably doesn't have 42 products but 56 x 42 = 2352 so my ATI Chrome Addon Shop checkmark 'Only Purchased' had about 2050 products. So then about 300 products that I bought or were freebies are no longer available. The only one I can think of that isn't available though off the top of my head is the RTDNA Atmospherics product.

I’m trying to figure out why male cops and females cops of the future get different  uniforms.... why exactly do men wear helmets and women wear.... hats?

I’m trying to figure out why male cops and females cops of the future get different  uniforms.... why exactly do men wear helmets and women wear.... hats?

Not to mention why the bundle is more expensive than the separate parts put together.

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,647

And they don’t appear to be from the same unit either. And are the uniforms interchangeable. If I want a female cop in body armor instead of the bodysuit and a male cop with the hat and skin tight uniform can I make a unit of people dressed the same?

  • Carola OCarola O Posts: 3,823

The one for female is police uniform, while the one for males are police Officer uniform. Though I would have wished that both uniforms came for both genders.

Regarding the bundle being more expensive than buying the four products as is, I have to admit that i find that a tad bit amusing, I don't think it is supposed to be so though. Guess we'll see if they change the price later on

I have a 142 pages (I've managed to amass that in less than 3 years.  I think I DO need an intervention lol. I rarely buy much now though and a huge amount of that is early stuff for v4 and m4 and purchased at heavily discounted prices.  A bit of it is also a bunch of free bundles for buying x bundle.  But still....

Just realized that a great way to get a good visual idea of what you have in your content library is to just view the entire marketplace and set ATI's plugin to "Only Show Content I Own".

I've got 27 pages of content... which is way, way, way more than I'll ever be able to use.

But I'm sure I had big plans when I bought it.

Holy whatever I've got 186 pages

Well that beats me. I only have 180 pages. (10758 items) but of course that doesn't include the items that are no longer in the store.

It's nice having a large library to draw on but I'm sure I'll never be able to use all of it.

Imagine trying to put all that into one scene. It would probably bring a Cray super computer to a crawl.

Ah I see the difference now. One is a Yura product the female is a luthbellina product. Explains a lot. I did buy both. We shall see.

Both clothing sets list Yura and Luthbelina as vendors, the texture sets are just Luthbelina. It looks as if she is mainly working as a texture artist for other modellers, which is a pity as I liked a lot of her own clothing.

No the male outfit does not have luthbellina listed. I agree though I love luthbellina content but yuras weakness has always been textures so likely that is a good move on yuras part.

Oops, not sure how I misread that. It does look as if Demian is mainly a texture artist, though, so I still suspect both are modelled by Yura.

Question for all the long-time users - of the items in today's Booster Sale, what products do you use/love the most? At least to my newbie eyes, the sale has quite a lot of choices that all seem to fill the same niche...

    Thanks!

One I have NOT played with but would recommend because you get a lot with the product is Bea Griff's Whatnots 2 Iray Shader Presets and Textures  The lids are removable, which is nice.

I tend to purchase fabric shaders and hdri. There are a couple in my cart right now that are vintage looking retro 40s and 50s prints which I like. I can’t use anymore light sets or elegant fabric shaders since I have enough to have my characters wearing shimmering lame for the rest of their natural lives. I need patterned fabric or stuff suitable for kids outfits.

You mind giving product links to those vintage 40s & 50s prints? I find modern prints almost non-existant unless it's some rude phrase printed on a t-shirt.

These are they. They are a bit brighter but remind me of the vintage flour sack retro fabric cotton that I use to make quilts. I am quite fond of retro Prints and patterns from the 40 which is why some of my character like vintage stuff

There is also this one https://www.daz3d.com/fabtex-pattern-iray-shaders-camellia it has the vintage flour sack look. I thought it looked a touch shiney and more modern than the other though.

Those are great. They remind my of my Grannys' dresses (never ever a skirt and blouse or pants and blouse in their day).

"GI Domes"? And is Tonal Rage difficult to use? It looks amazing, but I'm not sure I'm there yet, skill-wise. I do have Marshian's Atmocam, which is amazing, but I'm still working hard trying to learn how to use it.

And I have yet to meet a shader pack that doesn't at least get wishlisted. :-p

What sort of patterns and stuff suitable for kids aside from the 40's? I agree that feedsack prints are completely fab. My gran gave me a stack of quilt blocks made from feedsacks. I have yet to sew them together.

Suitable for kids covers a wide range. Were you thinking cutesy animals, geometric prints, cat heads, super brights or pastels? Feel free to PM me reference pics if you had a specific look Making fabric tiles is my passion.

Would it be helpful if I opened up a "DG, please make these fabric shaders" thread in the product suggestions like Josh Crockett has for creatures?

I have a whopping 14 pages = 560 items, half of those are probably Daz freebies, since I began in 2014.

Pastel colors, softer stripes, baby animals, cat heads, rainbows, froggies polka dots, cherries, daisies duckies  tileable prints well, just about anything that would look cute on a small childs dress, onesie, t-shirt etc.
