I'm off to give the image a Thumbs Up in the gallery. (Which would have been a tad bit easier if you'ld linked the image to the gallery page... hint, hint.)

I already did, but didn't notice Daz puts a # in the url which apparently makes it not work for you when it works for me. Fixed now though.

@luci45   Bless you for asking that question. I haven't piddled with learning dForce either. Lazy and lack of time, both. And sad to say, I already own that product and still haven't had time to try it.

One reason I didn't buy Sahel is the intensity of the purple shadoes under the eyes. She doesn't look healthy to me.  While I like the approach of not having flawless skin and having a few shadows, she has more shadows than I do as a 61 year old.  And the color of them looks more like bruising to me. So have to be honest and say I find her very charismatic, love the morphs and most of the skin materials, but not under the eyes. I think based on all the comments I've read, I'm the sole person who thinks that though!

But as usual Luci45, your render looks stunning!

Regarding Sahel, it appears to me that she uses the same facial skin resource as both GDN Claudia for Eva 7 and Vianne for Victoria 6, both of which I purchased (the eye bags are the giveaway, though they are not near as noticeable with Sahel as with her earlier generation siblings). But her Iray implementation makes it soooo easy to get a photorealistic render of her; (indeed, it seems to me that you would have to try quite hard to get a non-photorealistic render of her).

And ditto to luci45 for asking that question and IceDragonArt for answering it because I'm about to take the dForce plunge (with dForce Master - Cloth Simulation Presets' help) now that BeeMKay educated me about using the Public Build (so I don't have to worry about breaking GenX).

Here's another product that deserves a mention. It's risky for vendors to provide specialized products, as it may limit sales. The Vintage Shop Bicycle  by @forbiddenwhispers and @davidbrinnen would be a good one to wishlist if you haven't noticed it before. Here it is in a gallery image, which could use some likes/comments. It's by @mysticartdesign

Thank you, well, here's the story - my PC broke and I had to send it back to PCspecialists to see their mender, in the mean time, I had to abandon the large project I was working on and dig out an old PC and the result was a selection of bicycles because while I couldn't really tackle anything huge, there was no reason not to have a go at something a bit geometrically challenging - and it was interesting figuring out how to make the chain fit around the cogs and how to lace up the spokes between the hub and the rims, not to mention linking up all those funny shaped bits of tubular framework.  So yes, expect to see another bike or three by us - in the fullness of time - it took a while to fix my poory PC.

    Cheers,

    David.

On the subject of storms, I've just gotta share this render I just did that I'm super-pleased with: the poor old Licorne running into a bit of bother...

There's nothing very new here - one of Orestes HDRIs and the iReal Ocean are the newest (full list of products on its page in my gallery), Ron's brushes (rain and waves) really do a lot of the work.

So, to fit the title of the thread, I'll offer a tip: The lightning bolt above isn't done in post, it's rendered. I found a nice picture of a bolt against a dark sky, then created a plane primitive to fill the whole picture behind the ship. I then used my lightning photo in its Base Color (obviously), but also in Cutout Opacity and in Emission Color. Whack the Luminance up to a suitably large number and you get a lightning bolt glowing in the existing sky. Very pleased with the end result!

I love this render - great atmosphere, it makes me feel cold and soaking - superb job smiley

@davidbrinnen  LOL well then at least something good came out of your computer's wonkiness.

@chris-2599934    I thumbs upped and commented in the gallery. Thanks for telling us how you did it, it's inspiring. I think it's definitely good enough for the opening page of Daz, but they never ask my opinion LOL!

Hmmm. If In Bed is new, why does it's price history chart go back to February of 2017?  The Iray ediition is a new, separate product as it says "new."

I own that. Bought it a couple years ago in 2014 when it was 3delight only I think. I think they recently made it Iray compatible and updated things on it.

Yeah, but my point is, if we have to buy something different, and it's being labeled as different (aka "new") then there shouldn't be a history with it. It's "new."  Do you know what the 3DL one was called, because I'm not getting it in search?  (no surprise there)

It’s called in bed as well. The new art and picture has replaced my old one in the

    library and is marked purchased.

  • Am I crazy or wasn't that free over on his Basic3dtraining website a couple of years back? One of those things where you had to sign up for his constant spam emails to get the item?

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,648

I never got it for free. I do think I downloaded it in DAZ's store.

Oh, be careful about the Massive Morphs for Genesis 8 Male

One of the morphs the Massive Definition Morphs deforms the teeth. I put a ticket in but they say they are heavily backlogged and given the other ticket I put in for the same product  last year was not fixed either, I wonder if they won't fix this one  REDZ did attempt to help me fix it, but alas, I'm not understanding what she is trying to tell me. . Its too bad, there really aren't any decent male muscle morphs available and I use it a lot.

  • Maybe it was a "lite" version of it, since that Legend of the Stonekeeper is both here and "the corner" of it is over on the basic3dtraining website.

Haha, wow. I can't believe Raw of all people did this.

What Redz is telling you to do is the easiest solution for a normal morph since the messed up vertices are most noticeable on the teeth. Unfortunately, since this occurs in an HD morph, I suspect resolving it will be exceptionally more difficult as you cannot remove vertices from and resave to the HD part of the morph. You can remove the vertices from the main morph, but this results in the HD part of the morph introducing approximately the opposite distortion. (This is the first problem with content I have ever seen where DAZ has deliberately made it unsolvable by end users with usual methods.)

It occurs on the female too, by the way.

I'm afraid I couldn't get it to work. I selected the vertexes and did what she presumably suggested, however, it didn't seem to work for me. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. At any rate, I'd prefer a fix for everyone, its a pretty debilitating bug, and I was wondering why Owen had looked like he'd had a run in with someone's fist.

Heads up- one of the PAs could really use some sales in their store. UnderConstruction's medical issues are discussed here

You're probably doing it right. It won't work correctly on HD morphs.

Be sure and check if you got the green banner for $5 off Daz Originals. A different code for today, Saturday, Sunday. For $3.38 I picked up Angelica for Genesis 8 Female. Tomorrow it will probably be the Gothic Bedroom   Remember, if you don't like the materials on a character, you can use another figure's and have the morphs. Or if you like the materials and not the morphs, you can likewise use the materials on another figure. For $3.38 you get great choices. I'm not sure about the dark area above the mouth, so I'll have to see. But the morphs are different. She's very muscular and toned in the midsection.

    No banner for me.

I haven't been shopping as much, but again it doesn't seem like there's any rhyme or reason as to who got it. I wish you had  :(

i'm retraining my brain away from the sales and marketing and really cutting down on my spending..especially buying just because "omg that is on SALE". LOL. going through the DO's to try and find something UNDER $5 so I don't have to spend money. There's kinda nothing tho. LOL

  • Does anyone have any opinions/reviews on any of the cars in this bundle? https://www.daz3d.com/upper-class-vehicle-bundle I'm thinking of using my PA cupon on it, on it since it's been on my wishlist for a while. Sorry I can't link properly, i'm on my phone.

I own it but haven't rendered it yet. The details on Polish are always good yes  The cars look very classy and I think that's an excellent choice.

Oh hey. The never-ending "learned something new." I don't monitor that thread regarding things you wish you knew, so this may have been covered. If you are tired of the Universal Tool getting in your way, use the Node Selector Tool. Go to Tools and click on Node Selection. What's nice is it shows a bounding box (thin white lines) but that's it. Happy posing!

I try to only spend the 5 dollars on 5 dollar Daz originals. I've only gone over so far by 11 cents.  I'm running out of items in that price range though!

I got the Gothic Bedroom Novica mentioned earlier, and because she had mentioned it. Somehow that one slipped through my radar, but it's got a lot of kitbashing potential. I bought it along with Marshians fog camera, which I'm testing now. (I'll review it later, but I can say now, I like it.)

I’m not really into the goth stuff these days but the bedroom and windows could belong to any nice old mansion as the windows are great.

I don't know why but the set reminded me more of Nordic, Saxon, or Old English type furniture. I didn't think Gothic when I saw it. For under $6 it was a definite "go." I also went with the more steeply discounted items (like 58%) so my additional $5 off really made an impact. @ladair  Looking forward to seeing your render(s)!

I'm getting offline for awhile, severe lighting at the moment with close BOOMS of thunder and lightning strikes.(Check the Pensacola radar and you'll see what I mean. (Hover over Mobile then click the square to enlarge our area. Lots of red and orange!)  Thankfully Stetson is snug as a bug in a rug in his stall. I love that he's put up every night, the South has really bad storms, many late at night / wee hours of the morning. I used to have to drive to where Nova was and take him to the barn as he had a large, open type pavilion but no protective sides. I drove a LOT that year!

I got this as well.  It was on my wish list but I had forgotten it.  I'm not shopping much myself but I love stuff like that.  I really really want the fog camera and am trying my darndest to justify purchasing it right now.
