My 2nd question of the day - duplicating figures

I'm sure in the past I've used the Duplicate Nodes/hierarchy feature to copy figures (such as M4) along with the clothes and props fitted/parented to that figure. But when I tried it today it just copied the naked figure, not the clothes he was wearing. Am I remembering wrong? If so is there a way to do this? I'm sure I've done it before!

    Are you sure the clothing is parented to the character (or the character and all items selected with ctrl)? If the clothing is just fitted but not parented it will move with the character but not duplicate from the Edit menu.

    I'll look into the parenting thing, that's probably where I went wrong, but in this particular case I saved the character I wanted to duplicate as a seperate scene then used Merge Scene several times.
