Extremely simple questions from an old new user!

I'm not a new user but might as well be as I'm an infrequent user - I still have Daz 4.6 on my XP (which I adore!) - and I ask my extremely basic questions here as I've spent close to 2 hours searching the site for answers yet not finding them.

Question 1: Will 4.9 run on XP Pro?

Question 2: I have a new laptop - Windows 10 OS 64 bit - partially bought for use with Daz as it has 8 times more RAM than my PC, but is there such a thing as a 64 bit Daz 4.9? I ask as when I went to download 4.9 the 32 bit comes up.

Are you sure it's FDS and not the Install manager? The latter is 32 bit only, but DS has both 32 and 64 bit versions.

I'm not sure whether DS 4.9 will run at all in XP - but because of the image handling code it uses if you do run it under XP it, and 4.8, and possibly 4.7, will handle only a limited subset of the usual texture formats as I recall.

Thanks Richard! Re Question 2, each time I've clicked to download 4.9 what has automatically come ip is the 32 bit version, yet I can't find a link for a 64 bit - or an option to choose. I've seen the chart which lists most specifications and there's one for 32 bit and one for 64 bit which is why I assumed there must be a 64 bit version, but I can't find the download page.

Re Question 1 and XP (no longer an issue thanks to your reply), I've been using Daz 4.6 since 2013 (I think) and have successfully designed book covers using it, but as my PC only has a feeble 2GB RAM I've been unable render complex images. However what has baffled me over the past year or so is that I have a series of scenes featuring up to 3 characters, plus detailed backgrounds and extras which I used to be able to successfully render, but now the program crashes on such, and often even when trying to render a simple scene with only one character. This appears to be that it's no longer handling texture maps as it used to do. But this is a key reason I've gone for a Windows 10 with 16GB RAM.

I've just tried to downlad again and this is the .exe file I get:

    DAZ3DIM_1.1.0.64_Win32.exe

That looks to me that it's 32 bit - but does the 1.1.0.64 indicate it's 64 bit? It's the 64 bit I'm after.

Stop Press: I've just realised it's the intall manager! Will report back!

I now have it all sorted! Daz 4.9 is going to take some getting used to though, having missed on the rest since 4.6! Thanks again, Richard.
