Categorizing Assets

Okay, so I've had Daz 3D for a couple of weeks and I've purchased a few items and downloaded some freebies.

Things are very often hard to find, and I have to hunt them down. There are poses under figures as well as under poses - and some of those seem to be used to set materials instead of changing the way a character is positioned. You can find props all over the place, under figures, under materials, under props, under environments... I bought the free-weights gym andit took me forever to find it. A lot if it is *still* in the "lost & found" section. It can be so confusing!

Anyway, I understand that you can catalog or categorize your assets in some way - but I am *terrified* to try it because I don't want to lose anything. What would the experts suggest as a good system for keeping all the kinds of assets straight?

I wouild suggest using the content library already built into DAZ studio.  However, I would also strongly advise you learn how to back it up and restore it, and TEST that right away before you build up a significant library so you know it works.
