Exporting Hair from Poser to Studio

I realize most Poser runtimes don't work in Studio, but I was wondering if it would be possible to get around that by exporting a Poser material (ex., hair)  either in .obj or another format, and import it into Studio that way.

Also, when you export a Poser runtime to an .obj or other file, is the UV map preserved, or do you have to then re-UV map the converted object from scratch?

Most Poser content will work in DS - to an extent. Dynamic hair, if that's what you want, won't but I'm not sure it will export to OBJ either.

My own experience has been that, when I export an object (most recently, the Morphing Fantasy Dress that I converted to dynamic cloth, collapsed it around the figure, and exported the .obj, and imported it into DAZ Studio), the UV map remains intact.  I did, however, have to re-apply the texture I used on it.

  • Thanks for the feedback.

As it turns out, by simply mapping Studio to Poser 10, I was able to import the majority of the hairstyles into Studio with no probs whatsoever.  The exceptions were the "strand" hair props, which frankly I have trouble getting to work even in Poser 10.  laugh
