Is Autofit obligatory?

In poser you can create your selection groups in a modeller application and then rig your cloth in Poser Pro by deactivating "Autofit".
Is there anything similar in Daz Studio? I have tried to uncheck Face Groups and/or Selection map in the Transfer Utility but then nothing gets copied.
If I activate my careful crafted groups are over-written.
