Uses for daz3d for modelling buildings and castles

I've been going through the forums.  I see a ton of posts with posed figures in a 'scenario' and one that was just buildings from a distance but it was just a combination of 4 already-made models that were purchased.

What I want to do is model several castles using the tool for rendering.  But I'm having trouble finding tutorials for doing anything but taking puppets and making pictures with them.

Anyone have a link that can point me to a 'modeling buildings' tutorial?

You can't model in Daz Studio, you need a modelling program such as Hexagon (on sale at the moment), Silo etc or the free Blender. There are others like ZBrush but they are a bit expensive.

    Nobody mentions Carrara ! .....it's a Daz3D product !

It's a FULL 3D suite,. (rather than a posing program)

It can use Daz3D and Poser figures , but is built to allow the user complete creative control,.. from modelling, rigging, texturing, lighting, to animating and rendering.

There should be a free 30 day demo/Trial version,,. which runs as the full PRO version for 30 days,. no limits.

    here's the link

    Hope it helps

Seconded. I use Carrara extensively - it's awesome for modelling buildings, huge landscapes, and pretty much anything else. :)

The closest you could come in Daz is using primitive planes and cubes and putting a stone wall texture on them.

You might want to look at Castle Creator in the Daz Shop.  It's a modular setup so it makes creating various castles pretty easy.
