How to make mirrors refelctive?
I have a couple of environments that have mirrors and I can't get them to reflect. I did one 3DL render when I first got one of them and it worked but now when I try, they don't do it. Does anyone know what I'm missing? They don't reflect in 3DL or Iray now.

This is one of them.
Thanks!

If you're using an Iray render, did you change the mirror material to an Iray mirror shader? Iray and 3Delight are very different render engines, and can't use the same settings, particularly for things like shiny reflective surfaces. If you don't change any materials, you're stuck with whatever the auto-conversion produces, which sometimes doesn't work very well.
For 3Delight renders, the first thing to check should always be the Ray Trace Depth, which specifies how many times a light ray is allowed to bounce off a shiny surface, or pass through a transparent one. Look at the Render Settings tab, and click on Sampling. If the Max Ray Trace setting is at zero, the light rays won't bounce. Note that you shouldn't have this set too high (I've never had it over 8 or 10) since it will increase render time.
I didn't play with any settings. I just know that the first time, it was reflective and now it's not. I'm sure there is more to do to make it work in Iray. I looked for a mirror shader but couldn't find one in my library. Do i need to buy one special for this?
There is a free mirror shader for iray on sharecg

Edit: I just checked it still works for 4.9 & it does :)
Awesome! Thank you!
