Daz studio 4.9 problems and solutions pertaining to goz and zbrush

Is there any way that anyone knows of where I can get a copy of goz that will work with daz studio 4.8? After the nightmare I had with daz studio 4.9 I still had 4.8 download on my external hard drive. I reinstalled but I cannot get a copy of goz to work for the life of me, I am beginning to think it might be the end of an era for me and time to call it quits with Daz studio. it seems to me that  the higher the number 4.9 ect. the worse the problems get, I am thinking it might just be time to uninstall for good any help would be appreciated.

The only people who could supply a copy of GoZ, if you didn't back up your own isntaller, would be support.

What issues are you having with 4.9 that you need to go back to 4.8?

the issues I am having with 4.9 are endless after I was able to get my directories back on track when trying to do the least action the software causes the system to freez and then crash. I know it isnt a hardware issue I have more than enough power with my pc given i have a gpu and a 3.9Ghz processor quad core, hardware is the problem unless it is a problem with the maker AMD I had similar problems with mudbox a few years ago before I installed Zbrush. that wasnt an issue with the other versions of Daz studios, and is not a problem with 4.8. I even tried to cut down as much as possiable in the background like I had to do for Modo 801 that problem was fixed with 901 but daz 4.9 there is no way to keep it from freezing not even without Iray going back was my only option.

OK, I have Norton too so that isn't the root of the problem. What are your exact system specifications?

    AMD Radeon HD 6450

    Windows 10 64bit

AMD quad core fx 4350, all cores unparked

    MSI mother board

    16GB memory

I even put daz after 4.9 through the, catalyst control center and didn’t help the problem at all. I have tried as many different combinations I can think of. I don’t have a problem out of any of the other 3D software I am running Zbrush, Modo and even reinstalling updating 4.9 and the problem still persist. I just need a version of Zbrush that is compatible with Daz studio 4.8, the last issue of daz works fine. I get the reason that Daz did the update making it were users can’t use products that they didn’t purchase, the problem is that I don’t think they Beta tested the 4.9 version quite enough and now the plugins for the older versions can’t be used or downloaded. I understand the bottom line is money, but it puts some users having the problem that they can no longer use daz studios the updated versions, just won’t jive on all systems.

Well, I have to say this isn't a general issue - and DS does get testyed, through several levels (internal, private beta, and public beta). Thats aid, nothing in your specs is leaping out at me as likley to trigger issues. Have you tried opening a support ticket to see if they can provide the 4.8 version of the GoZ plugin? Even without the plug-in, you can always export as OBJ, work in ZBrush, then save that as OBJ and load as a new item or morph - though that is obviously less convenient.

I will try the ticket thanks, the OBJ exprots though I sure you are aware of are not always useful sometimes, well alot of the time everything becomes merged together when exporting in a OBJ, FBX or other file format, the clothing and or hair become one mesh with the figure you plan on using. thanks agian

  • Starting Daz Installation Manager as admininistrator worked for me.

Starting Daz Installation Manager as admininistrator worked for me.

That's not recommended, as it can result in files and folders which require administrator privileges to modify.

Hi, if its about some issues with the GoZ Plugin bridge break apart - I always have to leave a comment.wink

It seems to me that this Plugin never stops making problems - I mean since 5 year now as I started to try to work serious with both DazStudio and ZBrush the problems never end with versions counting up.

Here I picked up a few from my post history in descending order

And finaly my first post - where I almost wrote a novel about that wink

You may have a look at an good old thread (If just noticed that some of my writings are mentioned therelaugh):

May this info be helpfull to you
