Locking Bodyparts in Place?

Hey!

So say I want to pose a character in two different images, as if they are moving their arm, but I want their hand to remain in the same place in both images, is there a way to lock the hand in place so when I am posing the arm, the hand will not move or rotate? or if not is there any way I can do this and make it easier than fidgiting around with positions and rotations to get it just right?

I have had some success using the "pin" feature. Select the body part you want to lock and there should be what looks like a push pin visible. Click on that and there are 2 options, Rotation and Location maybe? Either way, check both boxes and that should prevent that part from moving. It isn't perfect. If you rotate or move the joints connected to it to an extreme, it may pull the pinned joint free. But if you're doing sublte changes, it should work okay. Just move slowly and keep an eye on it.
