Simple Tab Question

DDCreateDDCreate Posts: 1,404

I am working in DS 4.9 and when I first downloaded it, I had the SCENE tab on the right along with parameters and the rest. Then I did something silly or careless and it's no longer there. I can access it from the WINDOWS drop down but it would be much easier if it was a Tab. I've tried a few things but can't get it to add. I'm sure it's a simple thing but it's illuding me. Can anyone give me a This>Then This>Then That point in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

The easiest thing might be to go to the Window menu, then Workspace, then Select Layout. If you previously saved a custom layout, select it, otherwise, pick one of the standared workspace layouts, like Hollywood Blvd or City Limits.

If you open the pane from Windows-Pane-Scene, then you should be able to simply drag the pane over to the dock area on the right and it should dock itself there.

Undocking, moving and redocking tabs is one of the most accident-prone things in D|S, it's much too easy to have Something Weird™ happen when (not "if") your hand twitches just as you release the mouse button.

    • Open the window you want to move.
    • Move the mouse pointer over the label of that tab.
    • If you want to dock the tab to another visible tab, drag the tab's label to beside the labels of the rest of the docked group.
    • If the docked labels aren't in the order you want, drag the labels — not the tabs, the labels — sideways along the label group until it's in the right place.

Note that this works just as easily to move a tab from one docked group to another as it is to add a new tab to an existing docked group.

Yeah, in hindsight perhaps I shouldn't have used the word "simply". smiley

    Oh, it is simple...

...relative to some other D|S features I could name.

Next to dragging you can also right click on an empty section with the mouse then use the "Add Pane (Tab)" option.
