Reset universal tool orientation

When rotating the whole figure the universal tool rotates as well and it will look like this:

The problem is if I want to move the figure afterwards only in x direction the figure now also moves down/upwards. Is there a way to keep the figure rotation but reset the tool position to its default orientation?

    If you go into the Tool Settings pane while the universal tool is active you will see options for co-ordinates: World, Local, Object, Screen and World with local rotation. If you select one of the world options the translation arrows will be aligned with the global directions, which I believe is what you are looking for.
